"Judy Comfort and Care Assisted Living was a nice and warm setting. It's very homey and it has a lot of properties outside, around the house itself, like a country setting. They have very caring facilitators and they seem to have a really warm interest in the clients that are there. The person who assisted us during the visit was very warm and friendly. She's also understanding of this kind of transition. The dining area was nice. It was just a homestyle kitchen. I did not get a chance to see them serving any food then. They have activities that they do with the residents. They take them fishing, they have chair exercises for them, they take them on walks, and then they have games and activities that they do too."

"My husband fell in love with Sunrise at Mount Vernon. We were very impressed with it. We already got him a private room, so we are already set to go. It's right at Mount Vernon Hospital, and it's five minutes away, too. They are the only one that offered an in-person tour, so we got to see the facility, the dining room, and what his room would look like, and it was really, really nice. My husband is moving in on February 20th. I love it; it was wonderful. They connected me with people who helped me with the paperwork, so they helped me with everything. The facility was clean and quiet, and everybody was very professional, too. They introduced me to everyone, and they took my temperature and had me wash my hands, too. It was a great experience, and it's wonderful. Otherwise I wouldn't be taking my husband there."

"George Assisted Living Facility felt homey, and that's what I'm looking for my aunt. She would do better in a residential environment versus a facility. Because with time and attention given, it's less people and it's more individualized. I would say it was homey, it was very clean, and it was very comfortable. I felt comfortable, and my aunt did, too. She interacted with the proprietor that was there. I walked around the bedrooms, the bathrooms, and the outside, and it was all clean. Everything was neat. I was very pleased. No smells. I was very happy about that."

"I've been to Henson Creek Assisted Living to tour. It was a toss-up between this place and the one we ended up choosing, but this one was just more expensive. They had shared rooms and private rooms, but they were just more expensive than what we could do at the time. They have a salon on site, they have a therapist that comes in, the staff was very nice, and the also owner was great. Before COVID, they used to do a lot more events that included families, which was very nice to hear. It was nice to see how the residents along with the staff interacted with each other. They have all things that matter, and they're also building a new facility right across the street from where the current one is. And that one will have an actual physical therapy gym within the facility."

"I like Cogir of Old Town, Alexandria. They have the same types of amenities. I was looking for what would be a good fit for my brother. He is a veteran, and he would want to talk to other men and that kind of thing, and it was good. It was very nice. Their apartments have microwaves and mini fridges. They have a good amount of storage. They have call buttons. They have a theater area and sitting areas on each floor. People could gather on the floor with the TV there. There are snacks available all day. They have free meals and restaurant-style dining. There is a patio, too, and everybody has been very nice."

"Fairfax is a beautiful place but very expensive to get into. If it wasn’t for the upfront expense that’s 100% non-refundable, we’d probably consider it. Even their 90% refundable one is still way out of my mother’s price range. The apartments were beautiful and the staff was wonderful. We wandered around the facility, but it was freezing out, so we didn’t walk the grounds. We drove around a little, but we walked through and the fact that you could walk through and see so many places without leaving a covered and somewhat climate-controlled area was one of the best features, especially with the blizzard that we just had. There were a lot of things that appealed to us about Fairfax. I really liked that it was beautiful. The main problem was the amount that you had to invest to get into it. Even the smallest type of facilities that she might be interested in would take up all of her money, so it’s not likely to be feasible. "

"I liked the staff at Sunrise of Alexandria, and the place seemed very nice. I like that the porch has rocking chairs on the property and I liked the options for the different rooms. Everyone was very nice, and it seems like a nice, good, and wonderful property. They have a clean property that has great options for different room sizes and the restaurant looks nice, so it's good. There were outdoor areas and you could hang out there, there's a party room that you could use for someone's birthday, and there's a library. There are multiple common areas they can hang out and there were some nice amenities."

"I was able to visit Sunrise of Springfield. I toured assisted living, and I had a good experience. The staff I met was very, very nice and pleasant. She showed me everything, and she responded to questions. It's a nice facility with different levels of care. It's very neat and clean, and they were following the Covid restrictions. I had to wash my hands before I entered the facility. People were not very close to each other. I thought it was good. The rooms were neat and clean. They had a recreation area, a library, a dining room, a room where residents could watch TV, and a physical therapy room. They have different menus for different days too. It's also a good location that's why I like it."
