"My mom is staying at Kindley Assisted Living at Asbury Methodist Village. It's very nice. My mom is very well taken care of. The facility is very clean. There's a lot of staff, who seem to check in with my mom every few hours. My mom has a one-bedroom apartment, and I think it's called a grand, so it's just a little bit bigger. But it was fresh, newly painted, had a new carpet, and had lots of daylight. My mom loves the food. All the meals and laundry are included. They have lots of group activities, and musicians come. They have beautiful grounds. It's a huge complex. They have a pond. My mom has a little bit of early dementia, and she wandered from one building to another. The security recognized her and walked her back. It's just nice to know she's in a place where they are that caring and recognize her. She had a slight cut the other day, and they called us. They told us what happened, what they did, and that the doctor was going to follow up. It's a lot of money, but you also get a lot of value."

"I visited Goddard Comfort Homes, and they seemed wonderful. I didn't go because I couldn't afford it, though it would have been well worth it if I had the money. It's lovely. The grounds were nice. The accessibility was good. My sister is in a wheelchair, and I always look at that. It was roomy, nicely decorated, and homey. The executive director was wonderful. They have a nice front porch and back area to get out into nature, which is nice, and that was certainly something I was looking at because my sister likes to get outside whenever possible."

"We toured Miracle Manor Assisted Living for my wife. The building of the house is kind of rundown. I would say it's ancient. When we were there, there was a van with some workers, and they were working on something over there. The owner, though, was very nice and very helpful. However, it's too far. The room is moderate. They have a TV. They also have a living room for all of them. There are moving chairs on the rail for the stairs, that go up and down. Other than that, there's nothing else."

"AlfredHouse V was nice. It was a house setting. It's very clean and updated. We were looking for a building with a gym, but it doesn't have an exercise facility. They said they could build one, but right now it doesn't have one. The person who gave us the tour was fantastic. He was excellent. The rooms are spacious. They're clean and well-furnished, and the bathrooms are nice. They have options for shared bathrooms or private bathrooms. It met our needs. But right now, we're not ready to move yet. The dining area was very nice. They have a kitchen and an eating area in addition to the bedrooms. An activities person comes in twice a day, 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. There's a shared activities director for other Alfred Houses."

"Everything was fine at AlfredHouse Eldercare. It’s quite a small facility and they only have 8 patients. The rooms were fine. The place is on a land that looks like somebody has a private farm so there's a lot of very pretty land around it. My parents lived about a year and a half in this facility and we were very pleased with them. This facility is definitely good for somebody leaving their own home and going to another place because it was just like a house. Their food was also very good. "

"After a lengthy search, we found the perfect home for Mom that checked all the boxes: Safe, clean, attentive staff, home-cooked meals, happy residents and conveniently located near family. The home has good natural light and the sun in Mom’s room makes it cheerful. The owner is an experienced registered nurse who understands the needs of the resident. She effectively communicates with Mom, family members and caregivers to provide Mom with an individualized care management plan to ensure she stays healthy, safe, and happy. Her good judgement and communication have relieved our family of worrying about Mom’s care and have enabled us to spend quality time when we visit. Mom loves the caring and attentive staff who make her feel loved and special. They go above and beyond to help her and make her happy. Mom always looks forward to the meals. "My mother moved into Asheir Homes. It's a very small residential facility. There are only eight patients. It's very nice, but the trouble is, during the pandemic, visiting is extremely limited. Today, they just sent us a note saying they may not be taking any visitors if you don't live in Maryland, and I live in DC. I won't be able to visit anymore and I'm very upset about that. My mother's move was a very difficult process. It's difficult to move somebody who is 97 years old. She did not want to move and she didn't understand why she had to move; it was a very difficult process. The staff is fine. We like the staff. They text fairly often. My mother has a private room. She has physical therapy there, and they sent me some videos of them playing different games. They have all kinds of things going on. There's a very big yard and a patio. My mother is in a wheelchair, so she doesn't get out very much. The meals are good, but she is just so upset at having to leave. The facility is absolutely great. It's really expensive."

"I've been living in Aberdeen House III for five years. There are a lot of things I like. I'm very independent here. I'm independent as far as dressing, bathing, and eating. It's the most upscale assisted living house I have ever lived in. It's beautiful. It has huge windows in every room. I'm downstairs, but the downstairs is on the same level as the side yard, so we have windows, too. I have my own door. I take the wheelchair out and there's Metro access. It's just very pretty, the landscape, the trees. We have a backyard with stones, a deck, furniture, and a wall. It's very nice. I don't expect any place to be quite like this. There's a deck in the backyard and a deck in the side yard. This year I don't have any, but in previous years I had five herbs and then the year before that I had a tomato plant outdoors and I took care of that. We don't have activities here except we do tai-chi for 5 minutes a day. The caregiver turns on YouTube of tai-chi, which is good. I do my own activities, I do my own exercise. I'm on the iPad about half of every day. It's very upscale. It's beautiful inside and beautiful outside."
