"We toured Miracle Manor Assisted Living for my wife. The building of the house is kind of rundown. I would say it's ancient. When we were there, there was a van with some workers, and they were working on something over there. The owner, though, was very nice and very helpful. However, it's too far. The room is moderate. They have a TV. They also have a living room for all of them. There are moving chairs on the rail for the stairs, that go up and down. Other than that, there's nothing else."

"We will be moving in. It's more assisted living. It is not a nursing home. We get three meals. They have nurses, but they don't have a doctor on call. It's mostly for individuals who are more active and may need some type of assistance here or there. They have Parkinson's classes four days a week. They've been very helpful. We had lunch and dinner there, and the food was excellent. They have menus. It's not a set meal, and you have choices. It's almost like a restaurant."

"AlfredHouse V was nice. It was a house setting. It's very clean and updated. We were looking for a building with a gym, but it doesn't have an exercise facility. They said they could build one, but right now it doesn't have one. The person who gave us the tour was fantastic. He was excellent. The rooms are spacious. They're clean and well-furnished, and the bathrooms are nice. They have options for shared bathrooms or private bathrooms. It met our needs. But right now, we're not ready to move yet. The dining area was very nice. They have a kitchen and an eating area in addition to the bedrooms. An activities person comes in twice a day, 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. There's a shared activities director for other Alfred Houses."

"I liked Lorien Mt. Airy. The tour was excellent. The staff was very personable, took us around and showed us a variety of rooms. She gave me a tour of the area where my dad would be working on therapy. I saw the two separate dining rooms. They had one for the more skilled care residents, and another one on the second floor that's more like a restaurant where you can choose what you want to have. I was very pleased with my visit to this place. The rooms were clean and neat. I saw one that was a temporary room with furniture, and another one that was an empty room. I felt like the residents enjoyed being there. When I was there, I saw a couple that were singing, and they had a songbook so that the residents could sing along with them. I liked the fact that I saw some residents helping the ones that were less able, like they would get them a songbook and turn the page to show them what page they were on. It seemed like a big family, and I really liked that. They had a theater, scheduled theater nights, rooms that you can use for family dinners and celebrations, courtyards, and a beauty shop.The facility looked clean, like it had just been freshly painted, neat, and the carpet was in good condition. I gave an overall rating of four just because of the additional costs that should have been part of the package."

"Cadence Living Olney was very nice and very clean. It was decorated nicely. I felt like they were very buttoned up, which is what you want to make sure you have for your loved ones. They gave a great tour. They had a hairdresser and I saw an outdoor garden area. They seemed to have a good ratio of staff to residents. There were plenty of activities and they had the staff to support it. The rooms looked pretty nice. The showers did not have a lift, it was straight. If someone needs to roll in, they could just roll straight in."

"Brookdale Olney did a wonderful job with my husband. I was very pleased with them. They offered meals, laundry, and cleaning. They had a dining room, activity rooms, a library, and therapy. I only met the lady who introduced me to everything that was going on, and she was a lovely person and kept in touch with me every day. The nurse also called me. My short experience with them was good. The facility was all very nice, pretty, fresh, and clean."

"My dad moved into Spring Arbor of Frederick. It was wonderful. For activities they do have a long laundry list of things like games, cooking, and social type things. I don't know what all of them are. It's wonderful, it's a new facility. The staff is very proactive."

"After a lengthy search, we found the perfect home for Mom that checked all the boxes: Safe, clean, attentive staff, home-cooked meals, happy residents and conveniently located near family. The home has good natural light and the sun in Mom’s room makes it cheerful. The owner is an experienced registered nurse who understands the needs of the resident. She effectively communicates with Mom, family members and caregivers to provide Mom with an individualized care management plan to ensure she stays healthy, safe, and happy. Her good judgement and communication have relieved our family of worrying about Mom’s care and have enabled us to spend quality time when we visit. Mom loves the caring and attentive staff who make her feel loved and special. They go above and beyond to help her and make her happy. Mom always looks forward to the meals. She is always dressed and clean when we drop in. We never expected Mom to be so content. Assisted Living of Potomac far exceeds our expectations."

"My dad moved to An An Assisted Living II. Where he is now is a wonderful place. They take care of the residents there. I go and visit whenever, whenever I want to is fine. They keep you updated on what's going on. So I have nothing bad to say about it. The staff, I rate them a five, however, there is a language barrier. It's a house and there are five residents there. My dad is on a peg feeding only. They do have activities, but I think the youngest resident there is 90, so they don't use it so much."

"My mother moved into Asheir Homes. It's a very small residential facility. There are only eight patients. It's very nice, but the trouble is, during the pandemic, visiting is extremely limited. Today, they just sent us a note saying they may not be taking any visitors if you don't live in Maryland, and I live in DC. I won't be able to visit anymore and I'm very upset about that. My mother's move was a very difficult process. It's difficult to move somebody who is 97 years old. She did not want to move and she didn't understand why she had to move; it was a very difficult process. The staff is fine. We like the staff. They text fairly often. My mother has a private room. She has physical therapy there, and they sent me some videos of them playing different games. They have all kinds of things going on. There's a very big yard and a patio. My mother is in a wheelchair, so she doesn't get out very much. The meals are good, but she is just so upset at having to leave. The facility is absolutely great. It's really expensive."
