"My husband has been at Manor Care for over two weeks. The therapy team has been very professional, friendly, and helpful. I have seen great strides over just a short period of time. I can't speak for all of the nursing staff but on the wing where my husband lives, the staff has been kind, prompt in responding to requests and very patient in dealing with a patient who, at times, has not been the most cooperative. AJ, who I believe has the title of facilities director, could not have been more helpful and our social worker, Jay, was an absolute joy to work with. Though the travel distance for me was horrendous (and I have been with my husband everyday), I would not have traded a closer facility if it meant a lower level of care."

"I was at Sterling Care Bethesda. The nurses were wonderful, but the aides leave something to be desired. There were some aides who were wonderful and there were some who were not so wonderful. They could improve on some of the foods, too. The food was kind of the same and it was dull. Sometimes, there were things that I just couldn't eat. The breakfasts were really bad. I need a carbohydrate that's sweet, and I never got that. However, the physical appearance of the facility was nice and very good. It was nice. There was a beauty salon, and a podiatrist came twice while I was there."

"I visited Rockville Nursing Home for my mom. The staff and the people seemed very engaged. They have a full array of activities that go on all day long as well as having occupational and physical therapy there onsite. However, they have smaller rooms. "

"My mother is at Oakview and I couldn't be more pleased with the care they are providing her. Every time I visit, she is very clean and occupied with some activity. She seems really happy there and the doctor and nurses are super helpful. "

"My mother was a resident for a few weeks at Manor Care on Democracy Blvd., Bethesda. It was staffed by professional, pleasant, caring and upbeat caretakers. They paid attention to details that help promote health and healing, were kind and had a positive, supportive attitude. Rooms were large, airy and clean. There was a lovely outdoor garden for residents and visitors. The food was good. We felt that this facility was a good choice and that everything worked together to help my mother regain her strength and return home. "

"We chose Collingswood Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center because it has dialysis and my mother needs it. They're very clean and they have the schedule that they follow. They also interact more with the patients. My mother is getting dialysis, it's her first one yesterday, she said it was really good and everybody seems very professional. They also have physical therapy so she just feels very good about it. She's very comfortable in her room, has a closet and a phone which other places don't have. It also feels like a home setting for her so she likes it."

"I was in a double room (separated by a curtain, shared bathroom).(singles & up to 4 available) My side was spacious enough with windows facing trees, and during the day, I sat in the courtyard for several hours. My only complaint was that I heard my roommate's TV shows at night. The administrative, nursing, and PT/OT staff were wonderful - very kind, gentle, attentive, and helpful. I can't praise them enough. I had 2 hours of PT/OT every day.I was there only 2 weeks, so I did not join activities, however there were many: music, bingo, religious, movies, other games."

"I have now used Carriage Hill on two occasions with my mother who did her rehabilitation with the facility. I have found Carriage Hill on both occasions to be both professional, knowledgeable courteous and caring for my mother. All of the staff treated my mother with dignity respect and were a pleasure to work with. The nursing staff all cared and showed that care everyday. I know because i was there everyday. The management staff are very knowledgeable and support and were very helpful in providing guidance for my mothers transition home. Outstanding facility."

"I was doing rehab at Springbrook Adventist, and it was very good as well as the staff. The food is OK. The room was of medium size, but it was OK. There were activities, but she was busy working on therapies and getting out of it. I would recommend the community. "

"I found that the facility was very close-knit and well-kept. The people were very friendly and many of the residents seemed to get along well with each other. The facility has a good location that allows for its residents to live a relatively free life in a secure, but not quarantined, environment. The facility also hosts a myriad of activities ranging from those aligned with the Lutheran faith to secular activities with guest speakers and other community members. I liked how many different services the Lutheran Home provided, as it offered services for retirement, assisted living, rehab and rehabilitation, and hospice care. I found the Lutheran Home to be a welcoming environment as all of the staff members appeared to be welcoming, caring, and dedicated to assisting their residents and insistent on involving the outside community through volunteers and various festivals and events. Ultimately, I felt that the Lutheran Home was a great environment for senior citizens, as it provides them with the care they need without stripping them of their freedom and independence. "

The serene community is surrounded by beautiful trees, gardens, meadows, and interesting wildlife visitors. The buildings are well maintained and provide warm, comfortable living spaces, for both private homes and public gathering spaces. Engaging activities such as the Environment Committee, ArtSpace art programs, Garden Committee, and Tour Committee, to name just a few, are designed, led, and funded by residents through the Friends House Seniors Association. "I was at Shady Grove Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for a little while. It's very, very good. They have an excellent rehab department with very well-trained people running it. They had a lot of different types of equipment, and I really went into a very speedy recovery because of that. I would highly recommend their staff. Everything was clean and organized. I was very happy there, and I did very well there. The menu was really good."
