Assisted Living Communities in Moon Township, PA

"Halcyon of Bridgeville seemed to care about their residents. My husband was very happy when he was there. They had him playing bingo, which was more than at the prior facility, and he ate well. The facility was clean. The residents seemed very happy. I was very impressed. It's just unfortunate that he fell. It's not their fault though. They just turned their back on him for an instant, and he fell. That had happened at home, so I knew that could happen there. I did not try their food, but I saw their food, and it was very good. The staff was helpful. My husband had Lewy body dementia and it requires different approaches than other dementia issues and were very knowledgeable about it, which is one of the reasons I chose them. They were very interactive with the residents and they didn't allow them to just sit there and be vegetables. They interacted with them and they had them doing the things they could do."

"Everytime I visit the place is getting nicer and more up to date. The staff are friendly and make him happy living there."

"I toured Celebration Villa of Lakemont Farms and it was very good. I might have picked it, but I picked the other place only because it was close to my son. I met with one lady who was very good and informative. The facility looked very clean and it was beautiful also. The rooms were nice and roomy. The grounds were very nice, it looked like a safe place. And for the memory care, there was a secure outside area."

"Brookdale Mt. Lebanon was very nice. The staff and the rooms were very nice. The meals were good and the people were very informative. They even reached out and talked to me twice after that. They were very easy to deal with. They had a lot of activities and a lot of things to do. They had mostly everything I wanted. If I were to choose a place today, that's where I would choose."

"The rooms that they showed us at Graceful Care Living just had a bed in them, and that's it. We knew immediately when we got there that that wasn't what we were looking for. The staff mentioned that they have another section for people who are more independent. However, it was still somewhat the same concept. Instead of being in a room, like a small, single room, there were two beds. There was no television in those independent rooms. You have to go out of the room to watch television. It was that type of atmosphere, and my mother doesn't want that. She wants something that's like a small apartment, where she can live in that small space and be able to care for herself. I liked the atmosphere. I liked the staff. They're very nice and very accommodating as we went through the tour. My mom asked questions, although she didn't ask very many because she knew, and I could tell just from how she was withdrawn that she was like, "No, this is not going to work for me." I said it to the guy. I said, she's a lot more independent. She can get around fairly well, but this is not for her. She still needs to be in her own place where she can take care of herself. The only thing that she needed was somebody to help her, like to come in and help her to make sure that she's taking her meds. I didn't smell anything. It was very clean."

"The grand is grand. The care is outstanding and the food is excellent. As a social worker i was reluctant to place my father. No placement is perfect but this comes close "

"My mom moved into Whitetail Springs Assisted Living and Memory Care. We chose it because their care level was higher than the other places we went to. She's got dementia, and the thing that made our decision for us was that they checked on her more in the evening. They have motion sensors in the room. So if she moves or starts to wander, it triggers, and they scoop her up before anything happens. This place had a higher level of security at night. Her apartment was the biggest one that they had available. It's very large and it's like a nicer hotel room. It's a very nice place. She likes the food. They feed her quite well and are very attentive. They'll make something else for her if she doesn't like something. So they have some flexibility there. They keep them busy and have a lot of activities that are suited to their needs of the people who are there. The cost was very similar to what we would be paying elsewhere, maybe a bit higher, but given the extra layer of care they put on in the evening, it's worth it."

"Paramount Senior Living-Bethel is a very nice place. They have a lot of activities which is what my sister likes about it. Every day they have something for them to participate in. The staff seems to be very nice. My sister is very happy there, but she complains about the meals. I have eaten there and I found it was pretty good institutional food. The facility, like any other places, is expensive and that in time would be a problem if she runs out of money. "

"I have nothing but positive things to say about Harmony. The place is very nice. The staff is very attentive. I had my father in law in here the past two years and all I can say is they gave him a life full of not only caring staff but also caring residents towards each other. I got to see a side of him I had never seen before. He joined in on quite a few of the activities and sang along at happy hour with the music. I could go on and on but all I can say is that my father in law recently passed and I couldn't have asked for a better place for him. I recommend them to people all the time. BTW, we still go back and visit."

"I like the layout of The Residence at Whitehall. Since I'm one of the new members to come in there, I got my apartment at the back of the building, which is good because you don't get the traffic noise on Route 51. It's also pet-friendly. I'm moving in on May 30. Shelly has been very helpful in telling me what I need to do ahead of time, so I'd give her a 5. I had a couple of lunches there and enjoyed them."

"I’m here at Paramount Senior Living at South Hills. I have a large one-bedroom with a lot of furniture from home. It may not have the menus that other places have but here you have room. They have a gazebo, nice grounds, a lot of bingo, and poker some nights. They have a little garden club, and the other day, we went to the meadow. They go to Walmart once in a while. There’s a doctor across the street but the doctor I go to weekly is in Coraopolis and the daughter of one of the aides here drives me to Coraopolis and back. They serve three meals."

"My mom moved in. So far, so good. We had a couple of glitches, but other than that, it was fine. It's hard during the quarantine because she can't meet anybody, but the staff has been great. They've been wonderful helping around. She loves the food, and it's much more than what she normally eats. She's not used to eating three or four meals a day, so she picks at what she can, but she says it's very good. It's a beautiful place, clean, and well kept. She got a studio, which is quite large, it has a big window, a small refrigerator, and a microwave. There's plenty of room, a nice closet, and a big bathroom. It's bigger than I thought it was going to be, and she has everything she needs."

"I enjoyed meeting with the marketing director of Paramount Senior Living at Peters Township. He spent two and a half hours with us, went over everything, and toured us in the facility. I was somewhat familiar with the facility already from a few years ago and I was very pleased. They have the standard amenities that they do for an assisted living, like medications, incontinence monitoring, and helping with dressing. They did not offer any food at this time because of the restrictions, I guess because of Covid. Normally, they would offer for you to come to lunch or dinner, but at this time, they are not letting family members join in the meals."

Just enough of North Braddock and the exposure to the "outside" that she needed to extend her sheltered world. It took her awhile to adjust but with the aid of Juniper's staff, she made progress and enjoyed her stay. "
