"I didn't like the pod room system at Orion Personal Care Residence, but the staff members were really lovely people. We had a good time talking to them. It looked clean enough. The furniture was dingy. They had a lot of nice outdoor areas, but they also had a lot of ramps. I just didn't see my mother-in-law wanting to go up and down ramps too much."

"I liked Celebration Villa of Lakemont Farms very much. The girl that we talked to was very good and she went over everything, explained everything in detail, she was very helpful and very knowledgeable about everything about the place. It had a warm feeling. Everybody was very helpful. Everyone seemed to have a purpose. They knew what they were doing. It just gave you a good feeling. When you walk in there, the place was very warm, very comforting, and it just makes you feel at home. That's what I was very happy with. The rooms were laid out very nice and were very clean. They had all new carpeting in them, and they were homey. I looked at a one-bedroom and an efficiency. That's all probably that my mom would need. The way it was laid out and everything was very nice. It had a small refrigerator in it and a microwave. Everything was really easy to get to. It was very comfortable. They were doing some renovations to kind of bring it up a little bit. The staff during the tour was so good. I spent probably an hour with her, and she went over everything, every facet of the business of the community, and what was involved with the different levels of care, the meals, and all of the amenities that the place had. I guess it's just been taken over by a new company, and it's going to be even better than it is today. Everything looked good, but I did not eat there. I liked that everything was included in the price. I thought that was a good feature."

"My grandmother lived at the Grand Residence for over 10 years. She loved her life there, we enjoyed the community as family members and we were so grateful for her years of care there. At first she was reluctant to give up her freedoms of independent living. All those worries were quickly dismissed as she settled into her new life at the Grand. She made new friends, loved helping others who needed assistance, meeting other guests’ families, befriended staff who assisted her daily, going on the shopping trips and other adventures, having daily meal specials to look forward to, her weekly hair appointments in the salon and so much more. She enjoyed hosting family and friends visiting in the dining room without any prep or clean up on her part. It was like she enjoyed showing off her new home & community to her visitors. It was a lovely community to visit and bring my kids (her great grandchildren). She enjoyed showing off the grandkids and they enjoyed meeting the other guests who lived there. On warm days we’d enjoy sitting on the back patio where we could lunch, the kids could enjoy the fountain and see what was growing in the garden. Sometimes we’d stroll down to see the creek and my grandma enjoyed watching the kids explore. The monthly family nights were a nice anchor for our visits. The entertainment was varying and fun and the monthly themed desserts were amazing! Other special events through the year were such a joy for my grandmother such as the Firemen’s Ball or Trick or Treat with the community coming in. We were grateful for the kindness & respect my grandmother was given by the staff. There was a lot of comfort in knowing she was safe and well cared for. The environment was always clean and well cared for. It’s a gorgeous building decorated beautifully which we appreciated compared to more institutional settings we visited. Such care and thought from the fresh flowers on each dining table to the seasonal decor. It was the perfect fit for my grandmother to spend her last decade of life living in such a thoughtful community. She so enjoyed her life there and we enjoyed becoming part of the community there. The Grand Residence gave her the quality of life she was accustomed to and the support she needed as her needs grew greater. We were grateful to have the peace of mind knowing we could trust in her care. "

"My husband is here. I was scrambling to find a new place and Whitetail Springs has only been around for about a year. It's a new facility, so they were able to take him. The hospital was kind of like, 'we can't keep him, you gotta get him out of here,' so I was really put on the spot. It's a beautiful facility and has caring staff. They are also very kind, helpful, and particularly accommodating. With the pandemic, I really can't see him, and it's just been incredibly difficult. One of the things that concerns me is the distance from home; I am 45 minutes away from him. I've had some housekeeping issues with him, too. I was able to see him for one hour last week and I wasn't pleased with how clean his room was and some other issues. It is extremely pricey, but I believe he is being well cared for. "

"Paramount was a very comparable and a very nice facility; it was one of the nicer places. The rooms were spacious and nice. The staff was very nice also, and the dining area looks fine. "

"I like the fact that Harmony at Harts Run has two entrances. They had independent and assisted entrances, but inside you didn't feel a huge difference with that. It is brand new. They have availability. The staff named Kadie was the one who welcomed me, and she was exceptional. She reached out and texted me about the rescheduling. She was very good and very accommodating and did a good job of following up on rescheduling. There's a salon, two different dining rooms, a movie theater, and an activity room."

"The management of Paramount Senior Living seems to be responsive and looks after the facility pretty well. The building is kind of small, but it is well maintained. There are not enough parking spaces for visitors, but that is the only complaint I have about the physical facility itself. They have a large dining area, they offer three meals a day, and the meals are good, because I was there for a week or so, and I thought the meals were very good. Right across the street from this facility is a small shopping center that has a doctor's office, a small supermarket, and a bakery shop too. My mother has had no really negative comments about it, except that she wishes she could get around more, but she is happy that the nursing staff is responsive. She wears a thing around her neck, she pushes the button, and they come. I would recommend this place. "

"My mother-in-law was at Paramount Senior Living at Peters Township for a short-term stay. The staff were very wonderful. I don't have anything that I didn't like. It was a good experience. Her room was very nice. It was very spacious. There was a deck, like a common area, with picnic tables and umbrellas. Of course, they'd have to have adults with her because she was in memory care, but she was able to sit outside. It was very nice and the bathroom was very spacious. One day I had lunch with her and the food was good. She enjoyed the food, too. The facility was very clean and welcoming. There was always somebody at the desk to welcome you when you came in."

"Juniper Village at Forest Hills has so far been very positive. My father is being a little more active, they're taking care of his medications, and he hasn't had any complaints. He participates in physical therapy and he has gone on at least one outing. They have people come in to entertain, and my dad goes and watches them. They also have church services and he attends those. The place is very clean and they seem to have a lot of people working there to look after the residents. They're very good about giving my dad his medications. They just seem to be caring people."

"Thank you so much for all that Arden Courts does for the years of wonderful care for my grandparents. As it with most families, the transition to move them out of their home to a memory care community was a difficult decision for our family. However everyone made this transition easier than expected. It was so nice to see them settle into their new home. Always sitting on the porches socializing with other residents and staff members. Your staff has always been wonderful, kind, helpful and caring. Arden Courts provides such a beautiful and clean environment, but honestly the best part of the community is the staff they make it a home for the residents and their families at Arden Courts."

"My father-in-law was at Mount Vernon of Elizabeth. The people were very nice, and the facility was clean. They did have activities, but my father-in-law wasn’t there very long, so as far as I know, he did not participate. "

"Magnolia Place of Saxonburg was affordable. It was well maintained and the staff members seemed to care about the residents. It was very clean and very spacious. They have this nice courtyard and they have live music come in. They have a dementia ward, which is perfect, and they also let the residents grill out and interact with one another. The person who gave me the tour was the owner. They were fantastic."
