Assisted Living Communities in Sharon, PA

"I toured Ridgewood At Shenango Valley. It was very nice and lovely. Their rooms were nice. They're not huge. They have a lovely courtyard outside. It's just very, very nice. If they would have accepted me, I would have been there. The person who gave me the tour was lovely, very knowledgeable, very nice, and pleasant. She took her time. I have nothing but good thing to say regarding that facility. They go out to dinner, they go out to shows, they play cards, and they do crafts. One nice thing about it is they have all kinds of services. They clean your apartment once a week, they may change your bed, and they do the linens. They also have washers and dryers in each pod that's absolutely free, and you can wash your clothes. They have a little gift shop and a beauty shop. They have everything that you could possibly want."

"Liberty Arms is a beautiful place. However, they didn't seem to think they can handle my mom's needs. It was kind of they've already made up their mind before they came to see her. And I know they gave her a very good evaluation. The rooms there were kind of odd-shaped with an odd setup. The staff would make sure everybody gets down to the dining room during meal time, and if somebody is missing they'll go look for them. Or if someone would need assistance they'll take them to the dining area. "

"Shepherd of the Valley Liberty is aesthetically very nice, and so far the staff has been caring and has been very good. The activities are nice. They have bingo, Jeopardy, and Family Feud nights where they offer drinks. They have different church services and music. They have a nice library. I think they're expensive, especially with skilled nursing, but I'm very happy that my father is there. It's not near hospitals. There's a grocery store nearby and a couple of simple restaurants like Chipotle and McDonald's."

"We place my mother-in-law in Levy Gardens. It is a beautiful place. In my mother-in-law's particular apartment, there is a small kitchenette with a refrigerator and a microwave. There is plenty of room for furniture like her living room where she has a love seat, two tables, a lamp, and a TV. In her bedroom, she had a big walk-in closet, and then down the hall, just a few inches, is her bathroom which has a handicap accessible shower. They have kosher food, and my mother-in-law knows that because she has been in the nursing home before so she is OK with it. In her apartment, she can have whatever she wants. They have activities, like this week they have exercise every day at 11:30. Then they have some lady coming from the library, and they have music tonight. Every Saturday night they have a movie, and I think shopping is tomorrow. They have a variety of things to do. It is a nice place. "

"We toured Park Vista. It was an excellent facility, but it was terribly expensive. They also have a one-bedroom apartment and probably even more activities for the residents. "

"This is a beautiful, family focused facility. All of the staff that I have been in contact with are caring and seem to truly enjoy their job. There are many opportunites for socializing from the libraries to gamerooms and out door facilities. Many clients have their own rooms which allows for privacy and a sense of security. A wonderful variety of meals are provided and the activities are endless. "

"Autumn Hills Care Center couldn't have been a better place for my grandmother to recover from her bout of pneumonia last year. She was there for almost two months while she was getting her strength back and besides not feeling well she described it to me as a little vacation. I went there almost everyday and every day that I went there my grandmother was actively doing something to keep her busy and get to know the other people staying there. They had things such as bingo, music, movies, parades, etc. She loved all of the activity and not just having to sit in her room watching TV all day. The staff was also so friendly to both her and me while we were there. They were constantly coming in asking if she was ok, if she needed anything, and changing her linens. It was one of the most kindest and cleanest care facilities I had ever seen. After hearing many horror stories about places like this I was pleasantly surprised by the service that she got for the amount of money we were paying. "

"I visited Grace Woods Senior Living when my family and I were looking for assisted living for an elder family member. We fall in love with the place it was very clean and the staff were all very helpful. The employees answered our questions and let us see the things they do to keep the residents busy such as bingo games. We however; choose to move our elder family member in with another family member but we do highly recommended Grace Woods Senior Living to our friends looking for a place for his or her loved one. I give Grace Woods 5 out 5 stars. "

"Paisley House was a beautiful facility, but it was not as big or extensive as the other community we chose. The staff was very helpful and informative. They have a dog that stays in there, which is nice. Their dining area was not big, but it was warm and inviting. "

"I visited a member of my church who lives at the Shepherd of the Valley and thought it was a nice place for someone who needs around the clock care. The place was very clean and the staff was very nice, helpful, and caring. The people who live there are well taken care of and happy. My church member was very happy and said they loved being were they are. I would differently chose Shepherd of the Valley for my family friends, and myself. "

"A nice facility to live at- friendly caring staff that go the extra mile. I have lived here many years. They help with my medicines and doctors- I always feel at home. "

"We thought Omni West Assisted Living was very nice. It would have worked out, but it was a little bit too far. We were only there one time, but they were very, very congenial, very welcoming, and very thorough. They didn't put any kind of pressure or anything like that on us. They were very good. The apartments looked very sufficient and nice sized. We liked the enclosed courtyard that they had there. That was a plus because my friend loves to sit outside. We were pleased with it."

"My mom is at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland. She's living in the independent. They're not bad, just normal things. I'm personally a little disappointed with the follow up and the way they checked in with the people that live independently. I think that a phone call once a day isn't enough sometimes, because a person could fall in the middle of the night or in the morning, and they're not checking on them 'til later in the evening. I've never been happy with that process, but my mom won't complain about it. From the apartments and the rooms that I've seen, they're nice. The assisted living apartments are small, little one-bedrooms. Then the rooms upstairs that I was in, where one of my mom's friends was at, are like studios, they are sufficient, and nice. The current staff is all new, so I don't know anything about a lot of them, but the previous staff that I interacted with, all of them have been great. The facility is very nice. They take very good care of it. I'll give it a 4.5 'cause I never give anybody a perfect grading. The staff actually has been really wonderful. "

"I stayed at Ohio Living Lake Vista for three weeks. The doctors were good, the nurses were good, and the aides were good. The activities were good. It was very clean. It was very, very good. The staff was very helpful in any way that they could, always pleasant, and good all the way around. The food had a wide variety. They're very balanced meals. You weren't offered the same food every day. The layout was nice. The hallways were wide and it was easy to get around."
