My mother moved into Garden Way on March 3. It is a beautiful, clean, friendly, and very caring community. It has everything we were looking for. It has a very homey atmosphere. She loves the food, which is good because she was a good cook. They serve three meals a day and afternoon snacks. Their location is very central to everything in the area, which is one reason we selected it. It is very convenient.

- Special Comment: You will love our convenient location! - we're located right next door to the VA and a movie theater. Community is recently renovated, ranch style with all one story, no thresholds anywhere including showers. We have a very warm and homey setting - we have an internal courtyard, like a park, which is completely enclosed and very safe. It has raised beds so residents can garden, built in a square so residents with dementia can wander but still come back to their apartment. Everyone loves our summer barbecues!

Garden Way Place is close to a number of amenities in town. It was very clean and new, and the design of the building was very nice and easy for people to get around. It's a smaller place. It's all on one floor. It's like a big square and there's a courtyard in the middle. It just didn't have skilled living if it got worse for one of my parents. The staff was very nice. It was very homey. It seemed nice. I was very impressed with it. The atmosphere was quiet and calm. They have activities, and you can get your hair done there. It was the smallest one I had visited, so I liked that it was easy for somebody to walk around. If they had mobility issues, it was nice, too.

I toured here. I connected with the person I met with there. I liked the layout of the building. It was a great location to where I live, so it's very convenient for me to go see my mother, and that was a huge factor. It was a very pleasant environment, and it seemed like they were very caring people. The rooms were really nice and fresh. It was very positive. When I got there, there were some people doing something in the lobby. The staff went over about their calendar and the things they have. They definitely try to keep the residents very active and involved, so I thought that was very good. It's very stimulating for the individual. And because of the way it's laid out, you can go down and have a walk, but if you get a little winded or it's overwhelming for you, there are different quiet places that you could go. You could be with people or just be out of your room, but they have a nice little quiet space, so I thought that could accommodate all needs.

My mom became a resident of Garden Way (previously called Bentley House) in 2006. We moved her there because as a family we wanted her to have the care she needed in a very home like setting. We were able to decorate her apartment with furniture and other items from her home. She received loving care and we, as family, felt very comfortable. As a testimonial to Garden Way, my mother-in-law has been a resident there since her fall at her home in 2014. She was first in a local nursing home where she did receive good care but therapy gave up on her and told family that she would never walk again because of her dementia. So again, we tried Garden Way. Within 3 weeks of having new therapy, she was walking again on her own and feeling good about her surroundings. As her health has declined, the caring attention that she is receiving from the staff and administration at Garden Way has increased. She has become a part of their family too.
