"Community Commons had a homey feeling. It seemed like everybody was together in the common room and there was a lot of activity going on, playing cards together, and playing games. I didn't even have an appointment. They came out, showed me around, and they were very nice. They had a beauty shop and a nice outdoor area and gardening area."

"We had a good experience with the Suites at Continuing Healthcare of Niles. It was really nic, everyone was great, and I was really happy with the place. I wanted my grandparents to stay. They were very nice, very accommodating, and the facility was beautiful. My grandfather needed help with pretty much everything including bathing, and meds. My grandparents didn't complain about the food, the dining area was really nice, it's really homey, like a restaurant setting, and wasn't like a hospital, which was nice. My grandpa was partaking in card playing amongst the other patients. They offered arts and crafts, but he didn't enjoy it as much."

"Newly remodeled, cheerful looking, big screen TV in main living room and clean attractive suites. I like that it is locally owned and operated. The outside has a very nice porch with very attractive landscaping on the grounds. "

"My mom will move into Shepherd Of The Valley Liberty. I like the cleanliness, the programs available, and the proximity to my home. The staff who assisted the tour were very thorough and kind to my mother. We've had several tours, and they have been very thorough. The food was served attractively, and it tasted fine. The size of the room and bathroom was very spacious."

"My grandmother was a resident of Shepherd of the Valley-Niles. It's more like a hospital, although it has church services and things. I wasn't as close to the staff there compared to its sister community. They were very busy, and I think they didn't have as many staff members. The churches are so involved, so it's very nice, and I don't really have anything negative to say. What stood out to me was the fact that my grandmother can go to church there, and that meant a lot to her. In terms of activities, any music program that came in, any volunteer that came with a cookie cart, and anything that entertained her was much appreciated. They serve three meals a day, they have some therapy, and my mother went outside a little bit."

"I will have to admit, when I first visited my grandfather at the facility, I had terrible images running through my head. As I made my to the front door, I was greeted by a smiling face which instantly caused me to lower my guard! My grandfather was not always the easiest person to get along with, but after watching the way the staff catered to his every need, I was more than just taken back! They (the staff and nurses) really seemed to care. They even offered me dinner when I was there! I think another reason O'Brien Healthcare was so nice was due to the amount of windows they had! A lot of daylight could be seen and I think that helps ones mood when it comes to helping the ill. "

"Liberty Arms is a beautiful place. However, they didn't seem to think they can handle my mom's needs. It was kind of they've already made up their mind before they came to see her. And I know they gave her a very good evaluation. The rooms there were kind of odd-shaped with an odd setup. The staff would make sure everybody gets down to the dining room during meal time, and if somebody is missing they'll go look for them. Or if someone would need assistance they'll take them to the dining area. "

"My grandfather is currently in Continuing Healthcare at the Ridge in Mineral Ridge. He's in the nursing home side of it. The initial appearance and the public spaces of the facility are fair in maintenance but the rooms themselves that we have been in have not been maintained to the level of my expectation. There are cleanings and care that could be done to the rooms to improve them. The staff is wonderful and they're doing what they can with the number of staff that they have. Unfortunately, I feel like they're overwhelmed with patients. Maybe the caseload is a little much to be getting the care that the patients truly deserve. He's only been able to get his food in his room since he hasn't been able to get out and socialize. All of the food he's had has been satisfactory. I think improving on cleanliness needs to be their top priority. I know staffing is a huge issue with everybody so more adequate staffing for patient care could be improved too."

"I had a family member in this home. They were miserable, The lady running the house is very unprofessional and downright rude. She speaks to the residents as if they were animals, doesn't feed them well and has no business being a care provider. I feel that my family member was abused and neglected in this home. There have been reports made with the area agency on aging and with the licensing department. Good luck with your search. If you need to see for yourself, make a visit. You will find a smelly unclean house with mean and uncaring workers. "

"Garden Way Place is close to a number of amenities in town. It was very clean and new, and the design of the building was very nice and easy for people to get around. It's a smaller place. It's all on one floor. It's like a big square and there's a courtyard in the middle. It just didn't have skilled living if it got worse for one of my parents. The staff was very nice. It was very homey. It seemed nice. I was very impressed with it. The atmosphere was quiet and calm. They have activities, and you can get your hair done there. It was the smallest one I had visited, so I liked that it was easy for somebody to walk around. If they had mobility issues, it was nice, too."

"Levy Gardens was the perfect fit for my aunt. The staff is so kind and attentive, they were like family to her. Her apartment was huge! All of the apartments have a walk-in-closet in the bedroom , and another coat closet in the living room. Her bedroom was separated from the living room with a door, which made it nice when family visited and stayed the night. There was always so much for her to do. They had musical entertainers, lots of fun outings every week, and a massage therapist and yoga instructor. There is a garden in the back where my aunt planted peppers in the summer. The food was great and every apartment had a full kitchen if she every wanted to cook something herself. It is on the same campus as the Jewish Community Center, and everyone that lives there has access to the center and their Silver Sneakers classes. They have 2 vehicles with the nicest drivers in town who would take my aunt wherever she needed to go- to the doctor's office, the beauty shop, shopping. It is a really great place for seniors and I would recommend it to anyone who asks! Levy Gardens is the Best!"

"Saint John XXIII Home is assisted living and there is a skilled nursing home attached to it. I think that's probably the most ideal at this point for my parents. I like the location of it. The staff was very friendly. I didn't taste any of the food. It was probably their lunchtime there and the people were eating. They had activities for the people. They had a separate area if people didn't want to be in the dining room. There was another area where they could go and have their meal if they wanted more of a private setting. They have chapel services. They have therapy there. It was smaller, so it was more feasible for my parents to get around. it's an older facility, but it's very quaint. It's been around for several years, but it has a lot of updates to it. The atmosphere was welcoming. It seemed calm. The facility seemed clean. There were flowers around. There were different decorations that made it look homey."
