"My grandmother was a resident of Shepherd of the Valley-Niles. It's more like a hospital, although it has church services and things. I wasn't as close to the staff there compared to its sister community. They were very busy, and I think they didn't have as many staff members. The churches are so involved, so it's very nice, and I don't really have anything negative to say. What stood out to me was the fact that my grandmother can go to church there, and that meant a lot to her. In terms of activities, any music program that came in, any volunteer that came with a cookie cart, and anything that entertained her was much appreciated. They serve three meals a day, they have some therapy, and my mother went outside a little bit."

"My grandfather is currently in Continuing Healthcare at the Ridge in Mineral Ridge. He's in the nursing home side of it. The initial appearance and the public spaces of the facility are fair in maintenance but the rooms themselves that we have been in have not been maintained to the level of my expectation. There are cleanings and care that could be done to the rooms to improve them. The staff is wonderful and they're doing what they can with the number of staff that they have. Unfortunately, I feel like they're overwhelmed with patients. Maybe the caseload is a little much to be getting the care that the patients truly deserve. He's only been able to get his food in his room since he hasn't been able to get out and socialize. All of the food he's had has been satisfactory. I think improving on cleanliness needs to be their top priority. I know staffing is a huge issue with everybody so more adequate staffing for patient care could be improved too."

"I stayed at Ohio Living Lake Vista for three weeks. The doctors were good, the nurses were good, and the aides were good. The activities were good. It was very clean. It was very, very good. The staff was very helpful in any way that they could, always pleasant, and good all the way around. The food had a wide variety. They're very balanced meals. You weren't offered the same food every day. The layout was nice. The hallways were wide and it was easy to get around."

"My mother was there for rehab and the staff was terrific. Everyone was very polite and professional. Private room was very big and clean. She may need a nursing home soon and this will be my first choice!"

"My mom will move into Shepherd Of The Valley Liberty. I like the cleanliness, the programs available, and the proximity to my home. The staff who assisted the tour were very thorough and kind to my mother. We've had several tours, and they have been very thorough. The food was served attractively, and it tasted fine. The size of the room and bathroom was very spacious."

"My grandmother was in this facility for 5 weeks for rehab after being in the hospital for 4 months. She was in one of the private rehab rooms, it was clean and spacious. Staff was kind and respectful to my grandma and visiting family and was always available to answer our questions. At times she had to wait a little bit for her call light to be answered. The management staff was super helpful and went above and beyond to assist with a safe Discharge home. We cannot rate the food as she was not able to eat but it always smelled wonderful during meal times."

"The staff is fantastic and loving and clearly care about our Mom. She used to work there before she became a resident. She always had good things to say about the facility and formed wonderful relationships with patients, then when she became one, staff has been very kind with her. It is always clean, there is never an unpleasant odor (like nursing homes of our childhoods), and it is cheerful. There are things around to amuse the residents and they led them in activities so for example the memory care patients would bop a ball around while they watched tv. Meals were fine and they make sure my Mom always gets one. My brother came by before COVID to take my Mom out to the park and they helped make that possible for both of them. It's a wonderful place. I am sad my Mom has to be in a home. But I am glad she is in this home. "

Overall care was compassionate, concerned, and outstanding by all from the executive director, nurses, aides, rehabilitation and recreational staff, and the medical director.
