"The tour with Clearview was good and very informative. The surroundings and rooms were nice, and we were impressed. The activities appeared to be more than satisfactory. It just seemed like a nice place. It was the only one in the price range which she can afford. "

"Whispering Oaks was wonderful, very clean, and looked like an upscale hotel. The apartments were spacious and very nice. They had a nice dining room and nice common spaces. It looked like a very nice community. I'm hoping my parents decide to make the decision to move there. Whispering Oaks has one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. They're very nicely sized apartments. The bathrooms are very large and easily accessible. They have small kitchenettes, too. It is freshly painted with new carpets. The dining room is quite large. It looks like they have an on-site chef. The food looks good. There are lots of common areas. They have a small store that the residents could buy things from. I saw a theater room where residents were watching a movie, and some were in the common area playing dominoes."

"I went to The Lakes at Jefferson. It's a very nice facility. They acknowledged that I was there and everything, and so I would say they were good. The room size was good, too. It was a very clean place."

"My mom is at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland. She's living in the independent. They're not bad, just normal things. I'm personally a little disappointed with the follow up and the way they checked in with the people that live independently. I think that a phone call once a day isn't enough sometimes, because a person could fall in the middle of the night or in the morning, and they're not checking on them 'til later in the evening. I've never been happy with that process, but my mom won't complain about it. From the apartments and the rooms that I've seen, they're nice. The assisted living apartments are small, little one-bedrooms. Then the rooms upstairs that I was in, where one of my mom's friends was at, are like studios, they are sufficient, and nice. The current staff is all new, so I don't know anything about a lot of them, but the previous staff that I interacted with, all of them have been great. The facility is very nice. They take very good care of it. I'll give it a 4.5 'cause I never give anybody a perfect grading. The staff actually has been really wonderful. "

"Liberty Arms is a beautiful place. However, they didn't seem to think they can handle my mom's needs. It was kind of they've already made up their mind before they came to see her. And I know they gave her a very good evaluation. The rooms there were kind of odd-shaped with an odd setup. The staff would make sure everybody gets down to the dining room during meal time, and if somebody is missing they'll go look for them. Or if someone would need assistance they'll take them to the dining area. "

"Park Vista of Youngstown was awesome. All the amenities that they have were excellent. It's very well kept and it's very nice around the entire place. I love it. I just hope my dad loves it. The person took me around everything. Everything was so nice and clean. The staff said that if dad wants to move into one of the places, then it'll be repainted. The one we saw was already repainted and recarpeted, and I liked the place. They're very friendly and helpful. They gave me lots of information and they gave me the folder. They said that if they had to, they would work with my dad on the price also. I think the menu was awesome, and I think my dad's gonna like it also. He's a chef though, so he's probably going to want to cook for himself a lot of times. They were getting ready for a pizza party or something like that when we were there. The rooms were pretty spacious for one person."
