"My dad has been at the Quality Life Services - Mercer since mid-December, and it has been good so far. After he got out of rehab, he was moved to a different room where he went for long-term residency. I only know that he had a roommate before when he was in rehab, so that's two bedrooms, their own bathroom, a TV, and a closet or a dresser. The staff is wonderful. I talked to several of them a lot to see how dad was doing because you can't get in to visit him, and they have always been very good. The facility looks very nice, too. When we went in to do dad's admission for long-term care, we met with the social worker in their community room where residents used to come up if they had visitors, and it's very nice. The dining room was also nice. They have an activities coordinator, and he participates in some of the activities. He did bingo, they listen to music, and he enjoys watching old-time Western movies or TV programs. He is eating fine and mostly finishes his meals. When he was there before for rehab, he said the meals were really good as well. We were satisfied with everything."

"We chose Saint John XXIII Home for my mom because it's available and it's where she wanted to be. The staff is very attentive and very focused on patient care. The food is very good and they have social activities. They have very good facilities, good-sized rooms, and sufficient space in hallways. They have a salon and they offer religious services as well."

"The Nugents assisted living facility seemed to be a very pleasant place for my great grandmother to be staying. The staff was very nice, and was very good withing helping and catering to my sick grandmother. Overall, the service recieved there was wonderful and definitely recommended to anyone who would be looking for an assisted living caregiver. "

"Everybody's nice and cheerful at Clepper Manor, from the administrator to the staff, they talk to you. The aides and the nurses are above and beyond. They're very friendly, very caring, and they're very respectful to everybody there. "

"Avalon Springs Nursing Center is located in Mercer, Pennsylvania. This is a wonderful nursing care facility and a blessing to its residents and their families. My great aunt was transferred to Avalon Springs after three years at another facility. While she only had the pleasure of living at Avalon Springs for the last few weeks of her life, this time made all the difference in her personality and outlook on life. The staff at Avalon Springs is fantastic. All of the employees are so kind to the residents and their families; residents are really taken in to be a part of the Avalon Springs family. Residents are treated with love and respect, which seems to be very rare in nursing care facilities. The nurses take special care of each resident, and take time to visit individually with residents and get to know them on a personal level. The aides are kind and considerate, and treat residents as though their own loved ones. I love Avalon Springs and would recommend the facility to anyone looking for a nursing home. If I was unable to take care of myself, I would want to become a part of Avalon Springs, because it truly is a home, and a family. "

"I will have to admit, when I first visited my grandfather at the facility, I had terrible images running through my head. As I made my to the front door, I was greeted by a smiling face which instantly caused me to lower my guard! My grandfather was not always the easiest person to get along with, but after watching the way the staff catered to his every need, I was more than just taken back! They (the staff and nurses) really seemed to care. They even offered me dinner when I was there! I think another reason O'Brien Healthcare was so nice was due to the amount of windows they had! A lot of daylight could be seen and I think that helps ones mood when it comes to helping the ill. "

"It was nearby, and the care seemed very good. The rooms are clean, and the staff seems polite and courteous. They have exercises, crafts, and bingo. I was in today while they were having cookies, punch, and tea. They were having a gathering where you get together and reminisce about your mothers, which I thought was very nice. She made a hat one day where they glued flowers onto a big straw hat. I came in, and she showed me what she had made. It seems very nice. The food isn’t always as good as I’d hoped. I had lunch with her today, and it was wonderful, but she said it was not always like that. Breakfast is good. Today, they had a hot turkey sandwich, mashed potatoes, gravy, cooked carrots, Jell-O cake, chef salad, and coffee and tea, all for $3, and it was very good. If she’s not feeling well, she can eat in her room, but they encourage her to move around, so she uses a walker and goes down to the cafeteria. Her laundry is all taken care of. The staff called me the other day to let me know that her toe was inflamed. They were going to have the doctor look at it. The doctor sees her right there."

"Grove Manor is a nursing home with an assisted living side, which my friend has now relocated to. He wants to stay there because of the physical therapy team that is there. They are highly rated and renowned in the area for providing really good physical therapy services. It’s not really convenient for me, but for people who are living in the Mercer, Franklin, and Northern Lawrence County area, it would probably be fine, and it’s not hard to find either. He hates the food because it’s rather bland. The pricing is pretty good. The nurses are fine, the physical therapists are fine, and it’s a clean facility, but he just moved into the assisted living side and the air conditioner broke the first day. "

"Being a new facility and fairly new to the area, I was not familiar with where I was going, however, upon entering the facility, I was extremely pleased with the friendly faces and helpful attitudes to help me find my way to the patient's room. I felt the facility was very clean and organized and the entire staff was very professional and followed all proper procedures for visitation rules, medication giving rules etc. There were also many family friendly activities for the patients and visitors at the site. Furthermore, the patient I was visiting commented and she felt the food was of high quality at the facility and was also very pleased with the cleanliness and courteous service to her and her guest. Her room was also very tidy and kept well each day by the cleaning staff. I would recommend this facility to any future patients. They also welcome our church choir in on Sunday afternoons for their entertainment "

"I was very happy about the care my grandmother received during her stay at this facility. She lived there for five years before she passed away. Each time we visited her, we saw familiar faces. Many of the nurses and other caregivers knew us by name and always greeted us in a friendly manner. All of the staff members had an excellent repoire with the residents. The nursing home held many activities. Each year they had Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas dinner, and an annual summertime picnic. They had weekly games such as bingo and other various card and board games. On Sundays, the residents could speak to a Pastor. Beauty school students would come and give the residents haircuts and other beauty services. They were also very good about pairing people. They would put people with similar personalities in one room. It definately helped improve morale. The only real complaint I have is about the food. Orchard Manor paid close attention to diet but most of the time it was bland. But then again, what hospital or nursing home actually has good food? Above all, my grandmother really enjoyed her time there. As much as we wanted to take care of her in our home, it just wasn't possible. Orchard Manor was her second home. "

"My mother was at this facility for rehab after her heart attack 2 month ago. She did amazing she was walking and back to herself in know time. The facility was clean , the staff was friendly and the nurses made her and myself feel like family. "
