"My mother-in-law stayed at Paramount Senior Living at Peters Township. It's a very clean facility and has a very professional staff. It seems like a very good place for my mother-in-law to be in. Her room is a suite. It has an area for her bed, a table, and a small kitchenette. There's a bathroom. It's very nice. It's reasonable compared to other places. It was cheaper than some and more expensive than others, but the facility was so nice. We chose it because of how nice it was inside."

"It is too expensive for me. The building outside was not very attractive, but the inside was beautiful. The rooms were something that fit me and what I was looking for. They have three meals a day and heated underground parking. It should be fine for anybody if you can afford it."

"My mother-in-law moved into Mount Vernon of South Park. She's doing good, her room is spacious and clean, and there are games listed in the schedule of activities. The dining area looked very big, with a lot of tables, and she likes to be outside in the courtyard."

"I toured pretty much the whole facility of Personal Care at Evergreen. We went down and started downstairs, then we went upstairs, and they showed us the whole place. They seemed like very caring people. Everyone seemed to be happy and they were out watching TV in the common area. It looked like it was extremely clean and very nice. They showed us the activity room and the common areas. They showed us where they prepare the food and I guess they do crafts and things like that in the activities area too. I didn't check their menu, but they explained that they serve hot meals, and they were getting ready to serve lunch when we left, but we did not stay for that. The staff who assisted me was very, very good, and very knowledgeable. She couldn't give me information about availability and pricing, but certainly told me about the staff and how they manage people. She also told me that if you need extra care to shower and bathe, they have that option, and that they would take care of that. She was the nurse on staff there. I don't know if it was perfect, but it's definitely very high up there. It was definitely more like a community and not a hospital type of environment. It was definitely homey too."

"I VISITED MY BROTHER IN THIS PLACE. HE IS ON A WALKER AND OXYGEN AND HE WAS PUT IN A PRIVATE ROOM UPSTAIRS WHERE HE HAS TO WALK UP TWO FLIGHTS OF STAIRS AND CARRY HIS WALKER WITH HIM.THERE IS SOMEONE DOWNSTAIRS WHO IS ON OXYGEN WHERE THEY COULD PUT HIM. I BELIEVE THEY PUT HIM IN THE PRIVATE ROOM SO THEY COULD COLLECT MORE MONEY. WHEN HE LEFT THE HOSPOTAL HE WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE 1200.00 A MONTH AND HE IS PAYING 1500.00. HE IS ON DISABILITY AND HAS TO PAY FOR INSURANCE AND PERSONAL NEEDS, AND MEDICINE. HE DOESN'T HAVE ENOUGH LEFT TO DO THIS. IF YOU HAVE SOMEONE THAT NEEDS CARE I WOULD NOT SUGGEST THIS PLACE. IT IS VERY DEPRESSING AND SOMEONE WHO IS ALREADY DEPRESSED IS NOT GOING TO GET ANY BETTER. THIS IS EWING MANOR WEST IN ROGERSVILLE, PENNSYLVANIA"

"I liked that Standish S Assisted Living was a more private place and the lady I talked to was understanding. She sat down and talked to us, even though she didn't know we were coming, and she helped us out and wasn't pushing or anything like that. She was awesome. It was a very clean, quiet, and nice place too. They have a lounge room and the room was clean and cozy. We were pretty happy with that."

"I was able to tour Southminster Place. They seemed very attentive with their services and they had a very good system set up to attend to residents. The staff who assisted me during the tour was knowledgeable, professional, and compassionate. Everything about the facility was clean and thoughtfully planned out. They had community areas or sitting areas for people, and what they have that other places don't is that they have a country kitchen on each floor where residents can go get snacks or cook and bake if they want. It is a full kitchen where people can congregate, or you can have your family, or have someone come in and serve for you."

"My sister was here for a year. I dropped in at any time and found everything to be just fine. Clean, fully staffed, and kind folks. At Christmas, they provided a banquet room for my sister and 15 members of her family (me included) to have dinner together. They provided the meal to all of us at no cost. I tried to tip the wait staff and cooks, but they declined and just said "Merry Christmas!) My sister has now passed, but since she couldn't come home, I am glad her last year was at Evergreen "

"We were impressed with Madison upon walking through the door. The cleanliness stood out. There was no odor whatsoever. Everyone we encountered went over and above with our Dad. He is 98 and he left there walking and strong enough to help us with his daily routine in the comfort of his own home, which was our goal. We noticed immediately every employee seemed very happy and cheerful and the residents seemed happy and were clean and dressed. We never witnessed a staff member being anything but caring, never a harsh voice to any resident. The food was mostly home cooked with a wide variety . If Dad couldn’t eat something they had it was no problem. Many times they made him something else due to his swallowing issues. Thank You to every employee at Madison and keep up the excellent care"

"Personal Care at Evergreen has a home-like setting. It isn't too institutional. There's lot of activities, big TVs to watch the news, ladies that could help my brother with the things he needs, and a chef that cooks good food. It's also reasonably clean. The dining room is adequate for space and lighting. The staff is friendly and helpful too. It costs a little more than what we paid before, but we're getting more out of it. They just need to change their sign outside. You can actually see it when you directly look at it; but when you're driving the car, you don't see it at that angle."

"My wife moved to Generations Elder Care. There's only about 18 to 20 people in the home. It's just a personal care home. They're the only ones that offered to take her. She had been diagnosed with bipolar (type III), and had some pretty severe reactions. They keep the place nice and clean, and they've been great. I haven't tasted the food, but my wife said it's pretty good. They have a patio that the residents can use. There's a lot of really fancy places, but this is not fancy. This is a basic place, actually. It's well maintained, and the staff is great, which is what I was looking for."

"I'm very happy with Transitions Healthcare. The place is always clean and they have adequate personnel. Everybody who work there is very kind and my mother is very well taken care of. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about the place. They have a lot of activities. Every time I go there to see my mother, she's always clean. All the residents are treated with respect and they all look like theyre very well taken care of. They don't smell like feces or urine. They all look like they're happy and not drugged. They're all interacting with each other and they play games. I'm very pleased with the place. My mom likes the food and says it's good."

"I went to see Strabane Trails Village, it was beautiful. The staff who gave me the tour was great, she was knowledgeable and professional. From all their offerings and services, everything looked beautiful, and it was more than I expected. They had the hair salon, they had a very nice church or chapel with an organ, a library, and a very attractive courtyard area. There were several different places where people can congregate."

"My mom moved into Strabane Woods Of Washington. She's at assisted living level two. They have three levels and then memory care. There's a doctor on site who does a lot of the assessments, and they put her at level two, then she'll go up to level three, and then after level three, it's memory care. Each of them has an a la carte care package that's at a different price. You pay a different amount for each level of care. The basic room rate is $4,200 a month, and then you pay for your level of care on top of that. So, right now, it's $1,200 per month for level two care. It's awesome. We love it. They're great. It is a great place and has great people. Even just from when you called them the very first time, they've been wonderful. The coordinator gave me her cell phone number. My mom is very happy. I looked at the menu, and it was basic. The facility is wonderful, and it feels like a home. It didn't feel like a hospital. It's carpeted. There are lamps and furniture, and it's nice. They have activities every day to keep her busy."

"My dad was in Justine's Personal Care Home for awhile when he broke his hip. It's close to my house, everybody was good, and the owner was nice, but they didn't have activities. It's a nice, small place, so they usually only had one person on duty. My dad has dementia and a lot of other people had it a lot worse, so he was very bored with nobody to talk to. "

"My mother was in Harmony at Morgantown. She died a year ago, but she was there until she needed more care. She was happy with the place. She was in their assisted living facility and was there for 3 years. They had a lot of activities that she participated in. She wasn't a big activity person, but she participated every time they had bingo. She also participated in a Bible study group and attended church services, as various churches took turns hosting them. They have movies there, but she's not big on that. She ate all her meals in the dining room. The only negative about that was that when staffing was low, which it was at times, they were very slow in getting meals out to the clients. They would be sitting there for 30 to 45 minutes waiting for a meal, so that was the main thing my mom complained about a lot. I think she mostly liked the food, though. They had a limited menu they could pick from if they didn't want what was on the menu, and they usually had two choices. They had special meals at holiday times and invited family in, and that was always very nice and very good. I think the staff members were all very caring. They all had good relationships with my mom and were very concerned about her. They have a library, which my mom used and enjoyed. They didn't have much outdoor space, but they're up on a hill, and you can walk around the parking lot. Other than that, there really isn't other space to walk around. People would walk their dogs there, but my mom did not walk outside because she had difficulties with her balance. I think they're very expensive compared to other places, but my mom was very happy there. I think if you can afford it, then it's a good place to be."
