"My father-in-law has moved into Linden Village Senior Living Community. Everybody is friendly there. It's close to where we live, so that's a plus. They are very helpful. My father-in-law's room has a bed and dressers. If you want a TV, you have to provide your own, which is fine. They provide soap, towels, sheets, and all the linens and stuff. The staff members are very nice and very helpful. They gave us a calendar for the whole month of July and all the activities that are going on. They have a big courtyard so they can go out. They have an awning out on the porch."

"The assisted living facility at Celebration Villa of Lebanon is awesome. It's just a nice place, and the staff seem very friendly. You have everything that you would need inside the apartment. They also provide three meals a day. The person who took me around the tour was very nice. They have outdoor spaces with benches and stuff like that. The facility is very clean, too."

"My husband and I provide interactive music programs with the residents. We are always grateful for the willingness and enthusiasm of the community. I observe the encouragement of the staff to try new things and when able, they participate right along with the folks. It's nice to see the staff knows each resident by name and are very friendly and supportive. We're glad to be a part of the wide variety of activities offered and getting to know the residents as well."

"My mom moved into Juniper Village at Mount Joy. Right off the top, these people are so caring. I can't say enough for them. They are just so accommodating to make this transition easy. We want my mom to be in a decent clean place, and that's exactly what this is. It was recommended to me by a friend of mine whose mother was there. The staff members were outstanding. It's in the town of Mount Joy, but it still feels like you're out in the country a little bit. It's in a nice location. It's maybe 20 minutes from where we are located, and we're familiar with the area. It's very easy to reach, and there's not a lot of traffic. You're not in the middle of the city and have that hustle and bustle, so it's nice. My mom has a little bedroom area and a couple of chairs in there. She has a little kitchenette, a refrigerator, a little sink, and a microwave. She can get her own drinks when she's not down at the dining area, which is three meals a day. They include cable TV. There is that potential if you want them to do laundry, but that is another up-charge. So I've chosen to do her laundry at this point. The food was nice. They have people that come in and play musical instruments or sing. They have cooking demonstrations. They have church services several times a week. They have a living room with a nice big fireplace, tons of couches, and chairs. If you don't want to participate in singing, you can just sit there and listen. They have several little game tables. They have different things like chess and Tic-tac-toe, so it's very nice."

"My wife is a resident of Paramount Senior Living at Lancaster County Paramount. The people that take care of her really like all the patients that they have. They are very friendly. The place is a really nice place, but it's too far away from us. It's the same food that they give you in the hospital. The food is okay. The facility is very clean. They have guess-that-tune and another one is religious activities. They take them out for tours around the area. They had quite a few activities. The room is pretty good size and the layout is okay, too. The atmosphere is okay."

"I went to Brookdale Grandon Farms for 2 weeks. Unfortunately, I have a breathing problem and am on oxygen, and after three trips to the hospital in two weeks, they kindly asked me to leave because I was disruptive to the residents. Their facilities were beautiful and fabulous, and I really enjoyed living there. Their food was very good, nutritious, and fairly varied. The room was nice and moderately spacious. I really liked the layout. The staff did an excellent job and provided very good service. Their programs were very good. We had things to do to keep busy, and everyone was very friendly. I really enjoyed it there and didn’t particularly want to leave. I would have stayed there. "

"I toured the memory area and was happy to see the activities going on were engaging to those with dementia. The area smelled great. The residents looked well kept and happy. We had lunch and the food was exceptional. I am happy to say my mother will be moving in. Kara the director was very helpful in answering our questions and was very knowledgeable about the dementia process."

"My Great-Uncle has been living at Oak Leaf Manor (Landisville) for about a year. I have visited him at least twice a week since he has been there, so I am very familiar with Oak Leaf. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and well maintained. There is plenty of outside seating including two gazebo's. There is also an outside picnic area and nice walkways for the residents. The interior is wonderfully decorated for whatever season it happens to be. There is also a water fountain inside that is quite nice so sit around and relax. The dining room is nicely laid out and the food is good. The residents rooms are spacious and clean. The staff at Oak Leaf Manor is very friendly and caring. If any problems arise, the staff do their best to accommodate you as quickly as possible. There are a lot of activities for the residents, including BINGO, a theater room, scenic bus rides, crafts, and veterans activities. Overall Oak Leaf Manor has a very comfortable friendly atmosphere. If you are looking for a home for a loved one who can no longer live alone, I highly recommend Oak Leaf Manor. "

"Autumn House East was nice. It was clean and it seemed like it was well run. The staff during the tour was awesome. I liked him a lot. His name was Michael. The dining area looked good. Everything looked fine. People were eating and they seemed happy. They had places to sit, a library, common areas, and a nice cafeteria. They have doctors on site, which is good. It was close to a hospital and everything."

"I visited Autumn House West in York to see their assisted living. I'm already very familiar with the facility. A few years ago, I used to be there every week doing communions for the residents. I talked with a lady in the office who also interviewed me and was impressed with the facility and its offerings. The staff is very nice and always right on top of everything. I find the facility very clean."

"My mom is here. It offers the most care for my mother. We like it better than the other facilities we visited. It's close to my sister, who spends a lot of time with her. The staff is very helpful and everything we could ask for. My mom raves about the food. What impresses me are the cleanliness, open spaces, and the daily activities. The staff is very warm and welcoming. The facility has new furnishings; they're very classy. "

"This facility took excellent care of my late mother who had dementia. She was only there from June 2011 until her death, end of March 2012. They were able to communicate with her in her dementia state of 23 yrs. of age even though she was 90. My siblings and I feel blest that they made her last few months on earth enjoyable w/their outings and activities and kept a good watch on her health and personal care while she lived there. I would recommend this personal care home to anyone w/parents who need to be cared for around the clock. They treated her w/respect, caring help that she needed and love as if she were one of their own family member. They also allowed her to stay there to die w/dignity--which would have been even harder for her and my family to have had to move her into a nursing home. They went out of their way to accomplish this and gave her privacy from the other residents. I only wished both my dad and mother could have lived there together for a few years before we had to admit her after my father's passing last year.. "

"Victorian Villa was an excellent facility. It was about an hour from my home. It seemed professional but yet home like. The people were extremely friendly. I could sense a secure atmosphere, and I would recommend anyone to visit if they were looking for a personal care home as opposed to a larger facility. The rooms were spacious. The facilities were excellent and well maintained. They had an elevator for residents who needed walkers or scooters. They had exceptional cognitive activities which I really liked. "

"Rooms vary in size. The room my mom resides in is small , however meets her needs. I have visited mom during various meal times and the food is well prepared. Menus change daily and offers variety. The staff is very attentive and engaging with the residents."
