"The facility is fairly new, nice, clean place and it is actually our first choice since its just right beside my dad's house. And the facility is willing to take him without any down payment, after we had him taken out from a rehabilitation center. They conduct a comprehensive nursing assessment with every residents and their family to fully understand their needs. And the person who actually assisted us, I think her name is Alicia, was really nice and very helpful. But it just came down to when he developed a blood clot, we couldn't move him. So I need to look for some place closer to me, since I'm in Waldrof. "

"When I first drove up to the nursing home, I was not impressed with the architecture and the deplorable conditions of the outside. As soon as I went inside the door to the facility I was greeted by am older woman who asked whom I wanted to see. The inside living conditions weren't much better than the outside looked, and I was not very happy about that. Though I did not like the appearance of the building, I found that the staff was extremely friendly with my grandfather and tried to talk with him as much as possible. He was not always the nicest person, but I know he appreciated the company of the nurses. He would always ask them to get him a beer, and the nurse would bring him a soda which he thought was beer. In the end, I found that this place gave a bad impression from the outside, but had a nice group of people working for them. "

"Juniper Village at Mount Joy was beautiful. The staff showed us two very nice rooms. They were preparing for a man to play guitar while we were taking a tour. They provided lunch for us, and we had a choice of two different entrees. The people who worked in the dining room were very attentive to everybody and got them anything that they wanted. It was like a restaurant, and the food was very good."

"We are on the waiting list at this community. I was able to see their apartments, and they all looked very nice. Their dining area looked like cafeteria-style. I shook hands with one of the staff members at their dementia unit, and she was very nice. The whole place was nice. "

"I have had the unique opportunity of having two parents use both of their facilities and was extremely pleased by the respect they gave each individual. The structure is beautifully maintained, meals are wonderful and invite family members to join in everything. The individual rooms are tastefully decorated with country views out each window. "

"My cousin moved into Oak Leaf Manor South. His room is bigger. They came and picked up his furniture. They moved his furniture for him. It's a very nice place, from what I can see. My cousin seems to be happy with the food. It's a little bit of a walk to the dining room, but it doesn't hurt him. I know they did certain things on certain days. They had a picnic one day where they cooked hotdogs. The staff members seem friendly. My cousin's room has a full bath with a walk-in shower. They have a patio."

"I visited and toured. It was very nice. The staff was very wonderful, very pleasurable, and accommodating. They had pretty much everything, like playing Wii on the TV when we were there, bingo, and cards. They had a little gift shop. They served breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and I believe they provided bus service to doctors' appointments upon request. "

"I toured Harmony at Hershey. They let us try some of the food, and the food was excellent. What I like the least about them was their location even though it's a very lovely location. We were looking for something between us and the V.A. facility in Lebanon, and this facility is a little out of the way. The dining area was beautiful, there are 4 to a table, it had tablecloths, and it was just a delightful facility. The staff that we met were very pleasant. They showed us a single-resident room, it was pretty straightforward with a window at the end. They do exercise, they had a library and things like arts and crafts."

"The Crossings at West Shore is brand-new and I like that they have an RN on staff during the day. The rooms and apartments were beautiful, they were sunny, and they have two windows a bedroom and in the living area. They also have many models, so you can go from 333 square feet to 745 square feet, which is the biggest room. They have granite countertops, a full refrigerator, microwave, and I can move in there in a heartbeat. They also have independent living, personal care, and memory care. The person who gave me the tour was great, the activities director was wonderful, and they answered all of my questions honestly. They have physical therapy and a lot of activities, although not as many as the other community we visited. I took my mom on a Fourth of July picnic there and we had hamburgers and hotdogs. The food is farm-to-table, so it's fine. The place is visually beautiful, guaranteed. The staff is knowledgeable and understanding, which is a big thing."

"I liked the size of The Terraces at Capitol Village. It was sort of secluded and a good location. There's a lot of shopping. They were redoing some of the places, and they're moving to hardwood floors instead of carpet and that may sound good, but I prefer carpet. If I had a room that was all laminate or hardwood, I would end up putting area rugs down and they scare me to death. They are too easy to trip on and that's one reason I probably would not move in there because I don't want to walk around and step over area rugs. They only showed me stuff inside because they didn't have a lot of stuff outside. They had some walking trails, but nothing else, which is fine with me. If I want to go golfing or swimming, I would just get in my car and go somewhere else. They have regularly scheduled events. There are so many. You can't read them all, but they all sound fun. Cleanliness seemed nice. There weren't a lot of people that were sitting outside. They have benches and stuff. They don't have a lot more than that. Just a park area and you walk around and enjoy the weather or flowers, but there weren't hardly any people out there. I checked out their independent living but I liked that they can make their way up to skilled nursing so you don't have to leave your apartment. When you get to where you're incapacitated, they will send the caretakers to your room. I liked that. They have an area in the building for people that need round-the- clock care, and that's what I'm looking for. They take you to the end of your life."

"SpiriTrust Lutheran, The Village at Kelly Drive was homey. I felt comfortable being there. It was clean. The room was a good size. Everybody was nice. The lady that gave the tour was very helpful. They were doing an exercise class when I was there, so several residents were enjoying that. They have lots of activities based on the schedule they gave me."

"We have my mother-in-law at Country Meadows of Leader Height. The staff is very caring. I like the community in general. The rooms are very nice. The food looks good, and she likes the food. They also have a lot of activities. I will absolutely recommend them to others. "

"Seaton Springwood was very clean. I was very impressed. I liked the room. It was very clean. I stayed for lunch and I was impressed with the nice lunch they had. They have lovely sitting rooms where you can go and sit quietly and they also have a little place to if you want maybe mid-morning or late afternoon coffee or tea, make on your own. Everybody was very friendly. There was no odor. I was impressed with that. They had a beautiful dining room. It was a barn converted and it was beautiful. They decorated the tree in all seasons there, Christmas, Halloween, and Easter. The staff during the tour was wonderful. The food was very good. I would recommend it. There were a lot of seniors walking around and with seniors, there was always an odor, but there was none at all. Everything was wonderful. I liked it very much."
