"I learned about Home Instead Senior Care through a caregiver's presentation made by Katie of Home Instead. We were in the process of making decisions for my dad (mid to late stages of Alzheimers). At that point, we had decided that we would move in with my parents and help with care that way. As much as I tried, I just couldn't keep up with his wandering during the night and it was also taking it's toll on my mother. I called Gail at Home Instead and explained where we were in the journey. I told her about my dad and our needs. Within a few days we had several caregivers in place for nights. We began with a few nights a week and then began to have someone every night. If there was ever a caregiver that was not a good "fit" for my dad, Gail was quick to make the adjustment. Together we created a team of 3-4 caregivers that covered 7 nights a week. If there was ever any special instructions to pass on to the caregivers all I had to do was email Gail and the instructions were passed on to the caregivers. Communication was amazing. Eventually we needed more help during the day hours and within a few days Gail & Bella were able to fill the slots again making sure that the caregiver was a good "fit" for my dad. During all of this, Gail was super helpful in guiding me and submitting paperwork to the long term care insurance provider that my dad had (and I know from experience with them that was quite a task for her). In the beginning of April, we decided that it was time for the next step which was a full time memory care unit in our home town. Katie and all of the staff were very helpful and encouraging as we made this transition. We would not have been able to keep my dad at home for that time if it wouldn't have been for the great staff at Home Instead. I would recommend Home Instead Senior Care of Gettysburg to anyone in need of great in home care.. "

"I have been very pleased with Right at Home. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars was because in the 4 years we have had them, we have had several care providers. A couple of them were suddenly terminated but I didn't know why. It made me wonder about their background checks. "

"I used Mona Lisa Cares Home Health. I had them for about 29 weeks. I like them very much. I like the people. I just like working with them. Everything was good. However, we had a little problem with getting the coverage that I needed, but because their people were scheduled in other places, they couldn't help me with certain things. So I had to choose to go somewhere else. I didn't want to, but it just worked out that way. Mona Lisa was very good though. I like them a lot. The way they were structured, the way they had everything set up, and the money side of it was good. It was manageable for me, and I like that."

"My sister uses Angels On Call. She could stay by herself with her caregivers, and she has been using them for 90 days now. They offer any assistance that the person needs to be able to stay in her own home like preparing meals, housekeeping, transportation to pick up medications, and doctor's appointments. She has them for 37 hours a week, and she has two people coming in. They work around the needs of the clients. I don't know anything about pricing, but she goes through the waiver program and the waiver program pays for it. The program itself is great, but there is a lot of miscommunication among the staff."

"In the final days of his life my father received services from Right at Home in the York area. Both he and my mother were extremely happy that he could spend his remaining time in the comfort of his own home. Our family was very pleased with the attention and respect displayed by the caregivers assigned to us. They were knowledgeable and professional about everything they did. We appreciated that the owner took a personal interest in making sure there was a good fit of personalities. His efforts were so successful that my father actually had a crush on one of the young providers. I would highly recommend this office for quality care at a reasonable cost. "

"Very disappointed in the York location. Everytime I call and speak to the Recruiter Nicole she is very rude over the phone and does not help in anyway. The complaints at the office never get dealt with. The office staff there has completely changed for the worse. I would never recommend this office to anyone. This company needs to clean house with the Recruiter and managers they do not care about anyone and the families. I have heard all they do is play games and carry on in that office. This is why these families are not being taken care of. Very disappointed in how this office has turned out. I will be looking elsewhere for my family member and I know I am not the only one. "
