I was impressed with Autumn House West. I wouldn't say that they generally cared any more or any less about the individuals there, but it felt like a hotel and the rooms were quite spacious. Everybody had their name on their door as if they were a movie star. They had a situation where you were kind of free to come and go as you wish if you had the mobility to do so. You could go out front and out back. Now, the location wasn't the greatest. I'm quite aware of what the crime rate is in and around that area because of my working in that city, but the whole time I was there, I kind of felt safe. I thought it was a tremendous place. You were allowed to bring, for the most part, your needed things. If you didn't necessarily have a twin bed or a single bed, they would provide you with one. If you had your own dresser, you could bring that in. They allowed you to have your own TV, if that's what you wanted, or your own lift chair or things of that nature, but if you didn't have anything to your name, they would give you something.

My husband has been in Autumn House West for two years now. The people there are nice. I think they do a nice job there helping out the people who need it. The staff seems good. I think the food is pretty good. It's an attractive building, and they keep after it. It seems nice. Activities could be better though. I think my husband could have more activities. The people that work there are nice, which makes it very pleasant. They work to keep it clean and fresh. The staff are caring, but it's pretty expensive.

My mom is in Autumn House West. It looks very nice and very clean, and the people there seemed happy. They hadn't prepared her room for a new person yet, so they still needed to paint it and everything. But I thought that for the price, I thought it was very small. I thought that all the staff members seemed very friendly. They have crafts, bingo, and movie days. They claimed to have a chef, but my mother says the food's horrible. Everything seems nice, even with the staff, they're very friendly. But they give them call buttons, and they go hours before people respond. My mother's room is supposed to be cleaned weekly, but unless she complains, it doesn't get cleaned. So on the surface, it seems very nice and very clean, but once you get into it, they have some drawbacks. They're not as responsive as they should be.

Autumn House West was a little closer to town. It was nice and the staff were very helpful and very friendly. They have various types of rooms, depending on what you're looking for, and the residents seemed happy. They have a beauty salon, a community room with games and a TV, and a separate kitchen area for the residents to use.

I have visited Autumn House West, they're very professional and very helpful. It was during COVID so things were a little stricter, but we were allowed to bring personal items at that time and we were allowed to visit during normal hours during the day. We're impressed with how professional the staff was. The layout was a little larger than I thought and they simply have the needs that we needed at the time. What was there was sufficient. They have a small common space. I think the food was pretty standard, it wasn't extraordinary by any means, like a restaurant. But it wasn't like hospital food.

Everything about Autumn House West was first class. The biggest problem there was the cost. The room was $2,700 along with some other initial fees. As the care increases, so does the cost, which makes it out of our price range. I think my mom would have been comfortable there and enjoyed it. The lady who toured us was very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. They were having an outside picnic when we were there, and they had a musician. There was also a library and a small game room.

My mom will be moving into Autumn House West. The people there are extremely friendly. It's a very, very nice place. The rooms are very clean, a nice size, and very bright. She will be in level one assisted living. I did not to taste the meals however Amber, who was the woman that we have been dealing with is extraordinary. She is over the top. The atmosphere was very, very nice. The people that live there seemed to be extremely friendly and extremely happy. It's a really upbeat atmosphere. They have activities. When we were there, they were getting prepared for their New Year's Eve party. They have painting. They have games that they get a lot of the residents involved with. They have arts and crafts. Their calendar is so full. They bring in live music. They have bingo. They have a lot of activities there.

We toured Autumn House West and it really was great. All the facilities were fine. It was a little older because it is basically in downtown West York. Everything's included and the dining facilities were more than adequate. It also seemed like the level of care for their residents was fine. The person who gave us the tour was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. That's only second on our list, mainly because of location. I live close to York, and you hear all the local news and unfortunately, maybe not exactly in that neighborhood, but in the West York area, there are a lot of shootings weekly. So, depending on finances, if that's all Dad could afford, then it would be fine. My dad, being a country guy, doesn't like the city. The views aren't that great, depending on the room you get. If that place was somewhere else other than in the city, it would be great. Maintenance was fine, it's great. It seemed like everybody was anxious to get their food. The dining facility was more than adequate. It's dated, and obvious that it's an older building, but as far as the maintenance, I didn't see anything that jumped out at me. They keep it up to date. It's not a turnoff to me, though. My dad lives in a house that is probably 50s or even 40s, so as far as that goes, it would be fine. We were well pleased with everything at the facility, it's just the location.
