"My wife is a resident of Paramount Senior Living at Lancaster County Paramount. The people that take care of her really like all the patients that they have. They are very friendly. The place is a really nice place, but it's too far away from us. It's the same food that they give you in the hospital. The food is okay. The facility is very clean. They have guess-that-tune and another one is religious activities. They take them out for tours around the area. They had quite a few activities. The room is pretty good size and the layout is okay, too. The atmosphere is okay."

"Juniper Village at Mount Joy is very nice. The place is very, very nice. They have multiple places for people to eat in terms of area. At the time, they were constructing a new activity gym area. The rooms are very nice. The biggest issue I had there was that it was quite expensive. It's a lot more expensive than where my mom is now. They have a building that has studio apartments, and some places have semi-privates. The place is very nice. They have nice facilities. The staff who accommodated me for the tour was very nice."

"I went to Oak Hill Village for my wife. The room was good. This is the first time I've ever been in any of these places, so I don't know if it's good or bad, but I wasn't overly impressed by it. It didn't seem warm and fuzzy to me. The staff was very friendly, very nice, and very knowledgeable."

"My Great-Uncle has been living at Oak Leaf Manor (Landisville) for about a year. I have visited him at least twice a week since he has been there, so I am very familiar with Oak Leaf. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and well maintained. There is plenty of outside seating including two gazebo's. There is also an outside picnic area and nice walkways for the residents. The interior is wonderfully decorated for whatever season it happens to be. There is also a water fountain inside that is quite nice so sit around and relax. The dining room is nicely laid out and the food is good. The residents rooms are spacious and clean. The staff at Oak Leaf Manor is very friendly and caring. If any problems arise, the staff do their best to accommodate you as quickly as possible. There are a lot of activities for the residents, including BINGO, a theater room, scenic bus rides, crafts, and veterans activities. Overall Oak Leaf Manor has a very comfortable friendly atmosphere. If you are looking for a home for a loved one who can no longer live alone, I highly recommend Oak Leaf Manor. "

"Oak leaf manor and is an amazing place and is somewhere that I would suggest to anyone looking for long term care. My grandfather was placed there in 2010 and the whole entire time the facility and staff were absolutely amazing. I have nothing at all bad to say about this facility. The staff here was great and made sure that they treated my grandfather with the best care ever, and made him feel like a person not a patient. The whole facility made sure that they met his needs at all time and made sure to make him feel at home. The facility did many different outings so he felt like he was not stuck in a place. He was able to go outside daily which was extremely important to him. The staff was supportive since day one till when he passed in 2011. During his last days the facility made sure that his privacy was kept and that he could spend time with his family and not worry about being around a lot of people. I would recommend this facility to anyone and know where I will take other family members when the time comes. "

"We were very happy touring Celebration Villa of Dillsburg. It was a wonderful place. The residents that we talked to seemed very happy. There were a lot of activities to do. It just seems like the workers truly care for the residents. They showed us the studios and the cafeteria. We also saw the general meeting area, where they have movies and do activities. We did a tour of the room itself, as well as some of the rooms that actually had furniture. We also saw some rooms that did not have furniture. There were courtyards, too; that was cool."

"It was a very nice facility, but it was too far away. The apartments were much smaller, and look like a 1-bedroom. The staff member was very pleasant, answered any questions we had, and was very helpful. The amenities are good."

"My wife and I both have gone down and visited Traditions of Hershey in person. A girl named Bree had taken us around, and it looked like a really nice facility. It looked like it was well-staffed and very clean. All the residents that we saw, seemed to be having a great day. It looked like it included everything that my mom would be looking for. It's easy to access too, that's for sure. I know it has been around, but I don't know how long it's been there. We actually get our vehicle serviced alongside it. I know from coming and going over the years, that it's been there for a little while. What we were looking for was independent living. They have a call button in the bathroom there for the residents. Everything seemed to be pretty good. There's probably just a couple of things that the other two independent living places we visited have, that Traditions don't have. The staff that toured us around was definitely very helpful. They have a library. They take them out on outings throughout the week to different places. There are also a lot of in-house activities going on. It's quite a full calendar from what I could see."

"I toured Harmony At Hershey. It was too big. The halls are so long. It's like the dining room was at one end, and the other end was the apartment. The views they gave in the rooms, we were on the third floor, were like Hershey Park and all that area over there, but it was really at a distance. So, you couldn't see that much, but the traffic when something is going on there would be terrible because Route 39 is the main route into Hershey, and when there's a camp concert in Hershey, the traffic is always backed up, but the apartment that they showed was nice. They have a stove, an oven, a refrigerator, and a microwave. They have nice wooden cabinets and stuff for your dishes. The person who took me around was good and explained things, but I would not be too happy with the building itself, even though it was new."

"I have toured the Evergreen Estates Retirement Community in Lancaster. They're very helpful. The staff is very nice, and they're more personable than where my mother currently is. What I like least about it is that not everybody was available at the time of the tour when I had it. They were very busy. I toured the assisted living part of it. No one offered to have me taste any of the meals, which would've been a good idea. It's an older place. It's not like some of the ones that you see online. They don't have the tennis courts, the pools, the gyms, and stuff like that. My mother is in a wheelchair though, so it's not like she would be using any of these facilities. It's an older facility. I think it was built in '86. The cleanliness is good. It's very well maintained. I saw the maintenance men coming around and checking on things and everything that the residents had asked about. They were also talking to the person I was touring with. For us, this location would be closer to my brother and me. It would also suit my mother's needs."

"I toured Brookdale Grandon Farms for my mom. It was just a lovely home-like setting. It was elegant with a great ambiance. They had a dining hall, an ice cream shop, and a little store. They also had a great activities program. They had a salon, physical therapy, and a doctor's office, too. Plus, the rooms were nice sized."

"We visited and it was small and nice facility. The staff is wonderful. The rooms were nice but small. They had a lot of activities and everything else there seemed fine. The only downside that I saw was the size of the rooms. "

"I toured the memory area and was happy to see the activities going on were engaging to those with dementia. The area smelled great. The residents looked well kept and happy. We had lunch and the food was exceptional. I am happy to say my mother will be moving in. Kara the director was very helpful in answering our questions and was very knowledgeable about the dementia process."
