Assisted Living Communities in Mountville, PA

"It is a really great place. It is very close to a hospital, and it is really nice. I went in there actually before my meeting time with the lady I was supposed to meet with, and I talked with the some of the ladies and gentlemen that live there; they really like it. It is a beautiful place, and I like the fact that it is all on one floor. It is just very nice. The staff was very nice. I only met with the one lady, and she showed us around. She showed me the calendar, and it is quite a lot. They have a completely full monthly schedule of different things to do every day. They have trips to Wal-Mart and even rides in the country on the bus. I kind of like that the residents are able to sign up so they could do that. I also asked about us coming and taking my mom out for the weekend, and there was no problem it. It is very comfortable and homey, and it did not seem like an institution. It is lovely, and I think if my mom is going someplace, I would like to take her to see it. I was viewing it to make sure it is a nice place, and I thought it is really nice. I would definitely take her back to see this one. "

"The Keystone Villa at Ephrata is a comfortable place to live. They took good care of me when my wife died. I am currently in their independent living, and the rooms are comfortable. Mine is a 1-bedroom apartment, and it has just the basic things, but it gets cleaned once a week. I was just playing bingo this afternoon, and yesterday, we played games with teenagers from a local religious school. Every Tuesday evening, we also have live music, and tomorrow night's music will be Larry's German Band. We have a lot of common areas, like the library. They also have this large entrance to the facility that's connected to all three buildings here, and they have comfortable seating. There's a courtyard between two of the buildings with a lot of flowers growing, too. There's also flowing water into a little pond. For dinner, I just had grilled salmon with rice, and the food was very good. We get three meals a day here. I don't know many other places as good as this."

"We found ourselves in a tough situation. My sister was in need of respite care for a month or two or so we thought. We discovered that her medical needs were far more that we could handle at home. We turned to the staff at Senior Commons for help with additional care needs and how to implement it. Millie, Resident Care Director, took the initiative to call and facilitate services that needed to be put in place taking the stress off of the family. She went above and beyond staying late into the night to help my sister. Our family feels blessed that my sister Dorothy is here. She is well taken care of with meals, safety, and medication management. We also found Susan in activities is always encouraging her to be part of the festivities and meet new people. I highly recommend trusting this community to care for your loved too."

"I was impressed with Autumn House West. I wouldn't say that they generally cared any more or any less about the individuals there, but it felt like a hotel and the rooms were quite spacious. Everybody had their name on their door as if they were a movie star. They had a situation where you were kind of free to come and go as you wish if you had the mobility to do so. You could go out front and out back. Now, the location wasn't the greatest. I'm quite aware of what the crime rate is in and around that area because of my working in that city, but the whole time I was there, I kind of felt safe. I thought it was a tremendous place. You were allowed to bring, for the most part, your needed things. If you didn't necessarily have a twin bed or a single bed, they would provide you with one. If you had your own dresser, you could bring that in. They allowed you to have your own TV, if that's what you wanted, or your own lift chair or things of that nature, but if you didn't have anything to your name, they would give you something."

"Nice apartments, excellent staff. Independent living offers an enhanced care program that has allowed my mom to stay in her independent apartment while getting help with ADLs. Staff is very caring, lots of activities offered. My whole family is very pleased."

"The assisted living facility at Celebration Villa of Lebanon is awesome. It's just a nice place, and the staff seem very friendly. You have everything that you would need inside the apartment. They also provide three meals a day. The person who took me around the tour was very nice. They have outdoor spaces with benches and stuff like that. The facility is very clean, too."

"The people at Linden Village are very nice, and accommodating. My mother likes it here. They have bingo, puzzles, and entertainment. They had a spa-day, and they do their nails. They had something for their cognitive skills every day. "

"My daughter and I both thought Oak Hill Village was perfect for my mom. It was very clean, and everybody was very friendly and polite. They have so many activities that if my mom chose to go out and participate, she could. She could also just stay in her own place because the apartment is nice. There's no bathtub, so there's a shower that she could walk right in and out of. They also have a thing above the bathroom where there's a sensor that goes off if they see that she doesn't walk in or out for so many hours, so they would go and check on her. The dining area was also perfect. They have buses that come and pick you up and take you to grocery stores and different places, I think, three times a week, so it's an option. My daughter and I would do that for my mom, of course, but I thought that it was nice that they offered that. I think it would be helpful for my mother to be around other people her own age. I think she would enjoy that. They would all have something in common, going down memory lane, talking about how things were when they grew up. We were really impressed with the place. It was absolutely clean and spotless. The staff who gave the tour was also very nice. They provide meals for $5 if people don't want to cook. They said there are only 30 apartments there. Some husbands and wives who live together choose to stay in their apartments and do their own cooking, but a lot of them like to come out or just pop out here and there for dinner. They also would allow pets for $75 a month, so it's great for pet lovers."

"One of the things that we are impressed or unimpressed about a place right away is the cleanliness and the odor. Juniper Village at Lebanon was very clean and didn't have a bad odor anywhere. My wife and I went on a tour through the facility and they seemed to have a nice arrangement in their cafeteria for meals. They had several group meeting areas that were used for different social purposes, primarily. They also seemed to have an active regular series of either lectures or activities or something that go on in those areas. They seemed pretty aggressive about having tours that they take their people on, with their own transportation. They were good about offering transportation to and from medical appointments too. Overall, it was one of the more attractive facilities that we visited. Again, it just wasn't geographically appealing for us because of its location. If my wife would have an appointment at a hospital in Hershey, I'd have to drive over to Lebanon to get her and drive back to Hershey then drive her back and drop her off. It just wasn't going to work very well for us but that was the only reason we were having any downgrade in our interest in them. If you were looking for something in the Lebanon area, this is a very nice facility. It's very attractive, and surprisingly, has polite staffing. They must drill their staff on being nice to everybody and not just to us, but I could witness them being that way with residents there too. They're a very polite and professional staff. They were quite impressive. We saw portions of both independent and assisted living but our interest was in assisted living. The facilities were very clean and very presentable."

"My father is a veteran here so they had a discount available for him . They cater to veterans. Lots of activities, good food , and residents are always active . Rooms look good . They’re clean . Staff is very friendly . "

"I would rate Harmony At Hershey as outstanding, I just like everything. The layout, the room, everything is brand-sparkling-new and well-kept. The assistant there or the executive director, took us around. We got literature there and it's very well-kept. There were few people there, you don't see that many but they're very cordial and nice people. The place is impeccable, it's just outstanding. They have walking paths that you can go."

"My father-in-law has moved in. Right now, it seems OK. It's very comfortable for him right now. There are plenty of activities. He has played cornhole and bingo. They have dancing. He is pretty busy. He has only been there probably for one week now."

"I toured The Terraces at Capitol Village. The overall experience was very good. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The units were very nice. I looked at an efficiency unit for the gentleman that I'm looking for. It had a kitchenette and a very nice bathroom. I was there right before suppertime. Everything smelled good. That whole cafeteria set-up was nice. The overall condition was very nice. The staff gave me a monthly calendar of all the activities that the people could go to. It also had the dinners that were going to be served, so that was very well organized."
