"I’m a granddaughter of a resident at Paramount and my grandpa is new to the Dementia wing. I have worked for two other facilities so I had concerns. I’m telling everyone now how incredibly grateful I am to Paramount Secure environment. Rooms are huge and brand new, outings are fantastic and activities are great, not a child like thing like most. Music, one on ones and more!! Congratulations on a community well done! I am shocked at how much the residents are doing everyday. Happy, laughter and conversation is throughout the unit. My family leaves with tears of joy every single time, my grandpa is engaged in activities and never sad to see us go. Please do a favor for everyone you love and check out this place. Clean, beautiful and cheerful. The care staff are on point and I cannot say enough. Thank you for the love and gift of time and attention that you give everyone on everyday. "

"I toured Brookdale Grandon Farms. It's part of that Brookdale group, but it was newer, so just a feeling of being more updated. The setting was lovely. It just seemed more pleasing when I walked in. The staff was great."

"My husband and I went to tour Harmony at West Shore. The facility was very well cared for. It was clean. They had all kinds of activities that you could participate in. As well as if you're interested in bus trips or going to the grocery stores, they had all that. I believe they were dinner only. I guess you're on your own for the rest of it, but they did have kitchens in their independent apartments. The staff was very friendly, very knowledgeable, showed us everything that we needed to see. We're just not interested in the group meals that you have to be there at a certain time. We didn't try any meals, but the dining area was very lovely. It was very, very nice. They have a chef there who cooks all the meals, and you pick a menu for what you would like for the evening. They also have snacks, coffee, water, tea all day long. Whatever you need, they have available."

"My Great-Uncle has been living at Oak Leaf Manor (Landisville) for about a year. I have visited him at least twice a week since he has been there, so I am very familiar with Oak Leaf. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and well maintained. There is plenty of outside seating including two gazebo's. There is also an outside picnic area and nice walkways for the residents. The interior is wonderfully decorated for whatever season it happens to be. There is also a water fountain inside that is quite nice so sit around and relax. The dining room is nicely laid out and the food is good. The residents rooms are spacious and clean. The staff at Oak Leaf Manor is very friendly and caring. If any problems arise, the staff do their best to accommodate you as quickly as possible. There are a lot of activities for the residents, including BINGO, a theater room, scenic bus rides, crafts, and veterans activities. Overall Oak Leaf Manor has a very comfortable friendly atmosphere. If you are looking for a home for a loved one who can no longer live alone, I highly recommend Oak Leaf Manor. "

"Autumn House East is a convenient location for us. The director, Michael, was just really accommodating. He pretty much said that any hobbies or activities that my grandmother wants to do, he would try to make them happen. The guy that gave us the tour was really great. He pretty much did anything he could to make my grandmother feel comfortable. He also spoke to her, not to me, which I thought was really awesome. They let us have lunch, and that was really nice. She really enjoyed the food. He told me that they have field trips going on weekly, as well as arts and crafts, bingo, and food themed days. They have a cat that lives there too. Even when we were there at 7 o'clock, people were still sitting in the common areas, hanging out and talking. The place was really nice and clean."

"Amoroso Wellness at York was a fantastic place, and the staff was amazing. There's nothing bad that I can say. They were kind and accommodating. They did everything they possibly could to get the kind of information that I wanted. I got to see the staff with the residents and it seems to be a wonderful relationship. The residents were stopping the staff to have conversations with them. The residents seem to be very content where they were. The facility was clean, and they were working on upgrading, organizing the residential area, and updating the library. The dining room seemed to be nice and appealing, and the food looked fine. It looked like a restaurant, not a cafeteria, with tablecloths and menus on the table. There was more of a residential air to it."

"My mom will be moving into Autumn House West. The people there are extremely friendly. It's a very, very nice place. The rooms are very clean, a nice size, and very bright. She will be in level one assisted living. I did not to taste the meals however Amber, who was the woman that we have been dealing with is extraordinary. She is over the top. The atmosphere was very, very nice. The people that live there seemed to be extremely friendly and extremely happy. It's a really upbeat atmosphere. They have activities. When we were there, they were getting prepared for their New Year's Eve party. They have painting. They have games that they get a lot of the residents involved with. They have arts and crafts. Their calendar is so full. They bring in live music. They have bingo. They have a lot of activities there."

"My mother is happy at Oak Leaf Manor South. It's a small facility and they're very good with her. The facility looked very nice, her room is very nice, and none of the rooms are that far from the dining area, so it was easy for everyone to get to. It's a small facility, so a lot of care is taken. The staff is extremely friendly and very helpful, since it's a small facility, they know all of the patients. I haven't tried the food but my mom said it's wonderful. They cook their food, it's not like processed food. They get a menu so there's more than one option available for any given meal. They also have a memory section in another wing of the facility. They have several activities each day, there's always something to be done. They have musicians come in. There's bingo, aerobics, and physical activities that you can attend in the morning, though you're not required to go to them."

"My sister and I visited many assisted living communities in the York Area before we chose Senior Commons at Powder Mill for our mother. It was the nicest and cleanest place by far. We both felt the community was absolutely beautiful and smelled wonderful. Our mother was very lonely and depressed after the death of our father. She was not eating very much and most of her friends were not able to get out anymore even to attend church. She has made many new friends. They have so many activities. She enjoys the musical performances and devotions and her exercise class. Mother often comments on how helpful all the staff are. Her room is small but she has her own bathroom and we were allowed to bring all of her furniture from home. My sister and I feel confident we made the right choice and feel assured our mother is in great hands. "

"I'm in Keystone Villa at Ephrata. The people that serve me food are very nice. The food is A1. I have a good working relationship with the person that cleans my apartment. I have lots of friends here that I enjoy. Before I came here, I was in a very bad situation. My wife passed away and I was alone. Since I've been here, I got out of my phone and came back to my old self. So, I owe Keystone a lot. They have a pool table and a shuffleboard table. I go upstairs and shoot pool with some people. They have a cinema. On Fridays, you can drink two beers and relax and enjoy their company. It's just an all-around great place. I get out and I drive around in my Corvette. I have fun with that. This place got me started. I have a one-bedroom apartment with a nice little kitchen, a nice living room, a very big bathroom, and a nice shower. They allow me to keep my cat and dog. My cat and dog are in the apartment with me. The overall staff is great. I haven't met a person I didn't like. The residents are great. We tease each other and have fun. I'm spoiled rotten. What I had for dessert today was cherry pie with vanilla ice cream. They don't just ship the food in, they cook it right here and that's a big difference. I had Salisbury steak today and mashed potatoes and beans and then they have a salad bar. You just can't beat this place. The inside is beautiful. I don't know too much about the activities because I'm hardly here, but the ones I do go to are really nice. It's a good value."

"This community provided my aunt with the best level of care. The nursing assistants were always smiling and in a good mood. The kitchen staff always accommodation my aunt's "unique" diet without hesitation. The only negative is the location of the facility. There is not much outside space for the residents to take a walk or have picnics outside ( my aunt loves being outside) and the facility's driveway is located on a busy road which depending on the time of day, can be almost impossible to get out without having to wait 20+ minutes. Overall a good facility. "

"Victorian Villa was an excellent facility. It was about an hour from my home. It seemed professional but yet home like. The people were extremely friendly. I could sense a secure atmosphere, and I would recommend anyone to visit if they were looking for a personal care home as opposed to a larger facility. The rooms were spacious. The facilities were excellent and well maintained. They had an elevator for residents who needed walkers or scooters. They had exceptional cognitive activities which I really liked. "

"We visited the Country Meadows of Hershey. It was a very lovely facility with a lot of amenities. They have art and painting, they have a library and they do exercises. They gave us a wrap sandwich as a sample of their food, and it was a very nice sandwich. I don't think that the people were eating wrap sandwiches that day, it was just their attempt to let us taste their food. The staff members were very pleasant and very helpful, any question that you asked, they would go out of their way to attempt to answer it. The thing that I like the least about them is the price because it's one of the more expensive facilities. The thing that I like the best was the physical aspect of the facility. I liked the building the best."
