"Everyone seemed very helpful and very accommodating at Nottingham Village. It looks like a great fit for mom. She would be in a single home, which was beautiful. It was a ranch. They have a garage, a screened-in porch, two bedrooms, and two baths. They have a senior center, they do all kinds of activities, they have a schedule that they do every month, and they offer meals there if you choose (or you can have your own). They have a restaurant, a small exercise room, and they offer transportation if you need it within so many miles, and that is included with their maintenance fee each month. There are little walking areas all around."

"We toured Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village for my mom. We chose that because it was a continuing care facility, and she needs a little bit more one-on-one beyond a home health care provision. The staff were very helpful with questions. They also came out of the car with the wheelchair to get my mom. They made sure that she had all her questions answered, too. They have a new wing, and we were very pleased with it. They have a courtyard, a salon, and in-house rehab facilities as well."

"My mom moved into RiverWoods Senior Living Community. It is a very nice facility with multi-level units of care. The staff is wonderful. They have restaurants, crafts, and different things going on. It's in the same town where I live, so it's very convenient. I can visit my mother regularly. My mother is quite happy with the food. Their meds are delivered every day. There's a nurse there. My mom lives in a single room. The cost for my mom's level is really good and very affordable. They are a terrific facility. We're very happy."

"Rockwell Retirement Center is a wonderful place. Their dining room is immaculate. They have people that will help you. I need a wheelchair and they bring it down so I can eat and they bring it down to my car. The rooms are not the most beautiful. You have to bring your own furniture and drapery. They're all old school rooms, which have been made into rooms for you to live in. They have loads of activities and they have a wonderful activity room. The library is absolutely perfect. They have an exercise room, and they do light therapy for you. It meets my standards. They have air-conditioning and heat in all the rooms. They have an emergency light system and an escape route in case of a fire."

"Mother was at Emmanuel Center for about a month, and it was better, nicer, cleaner, and safer. The staff was better than average. I guess, she is in the beginnings of dementia. Her issue is that she would think that people didn’t take care of her in a timely manner, but we as her family thought that they were much better. I just admire the work that they tried to do with the patients. "

"Polk Personal Care is a very nice place. The staff are very loving people, especially towards the residents. The food is terrific, they have activities to do, and there are devotions my mom can go to. They bring in special music sometimes. It's a good place to be. They're very caring, and the place is pretty immaculate and beautiful. The rooms are a real nice size with a nice private bathroom. Mom enjoys the exercises every morning. Then she goes to devotions and then goes to lunch. In the afternoon, she prefers to stay in her room but they have bingo, trivia, and games available for the residents to do. She also enjoys doing crafts. The people enjoy the activities. They are really excited about it, especially bingo. They have their own little bus that they take the residents out for rides, to go get some ice cream, or something like that. It's a great place."

"North Ridge Center Personal Care is fantastic. The staff is great. The rooms are great, they're adequate size, and very well kept. I wouldn't have Mom at any other place. The food is fine, and the dining area is big enough for the amount of people that they have there. It's a very small place, and it's strictly assisted living. They have activities going on all the time. It's the best place in the area to be. It's out in the country, very quiet, and very peaceful. It's a really nice setting and has a family atmosphere."

"My father-in-law moved to Heritage Mills Personal Care and Memory Assistance Center. What I like best is that the people there are very friendly, and the residents seem very happy. It's a clean facility. It smells very good inside, and in the two weeks that he's been there, he's very happy with how they treat him and the people around him. The staff was very friendly and very informative. They worked with us to help him move into the facility, so they were very helpful and nice. My father-in-law said he likes the food. The structure is an old brick warehouse. It's very nicely done on the inside. One thing that he loves is they have trivia time or Jeopardy or Wheel of Fortune, and he's blind, so they help him with it, and he's had a ton of fun. It's a happy feeling when you walk in, light, bright, and airy."

"My great aunt had rehab at Mt. Carmel Senior Living Community. She was in rehab because she had fallen and broken her shoulders. She liked it, and she was engaged in activities. It was very clean. They do jigsaws, bingo, and things like that. That's what was going on when I was there. Her situation improved; she was discharged home independently. The staff were friendly and helpful. The facility was very clean, and the grounds are well-kept. I'm not sure how that all works out financially, but I would say it was fair. They got the desired outcome; she was discharged home. It was a little bit more institutional overall, but her room was homey. They do have a beauty/barber salon. We were satisfied."

"We chose Nippenose Valley Village for Mom, because it's the closest to home. To me, they're top-of-the-line and it can't get any better. They have fantastic meals. They have tons of activities. They have a gym, athletic stuff, classes for seniors, and a beauty shop. It's immaculate."

"My dad is in Willow View Personal Care. It has been very good. I have been up there several times. The place is clean. The food is decent. He has been there probably two months now. He is in a semi-private room. They have a few different lounge areas with TVs. His food is provided. The nurses provide medication. He is allowed to leave the facility for local trips or if family members want to take him out. "
