Polk Personal Care is a very nice place. The staff are very loving people, especially towards the residents. The food is terrific, they have activities to do, and there are devotions my mom can go to. They bring in special music sometimes. It's a good place to be. They're very caring, and the place is pretty immaculate and beautiful. The rooms are a real nice size with a nice private bathroom. Mom enjoys the exercises every morning. Then she goes to devotions and then goes to lunch. In the afternoon, she prefers to stay in her room but they have bingo, trivia, and games available for the residents to do. She also enjoys doing crafts. The people enjoy the activities. They are really excited about it, especially bingo. They have their own little bus that they take the residents out for rides, to go get some ice cream, or something like that. It's a great place.

Polk Personal Care Center was very nice. The employees seemed very nice and friendly. It was very clean, and it seemed like they have a lot of activities for the seniors to get involved in. I would advise people to go there, plus I have gotten a lot of good feedback from other people who have relatives in there. They had their own chapel, a beautiful big dining room, an activities room, and a big patio outside where they could go if they wanted to be outside. They had all different kinds of activities, and every day there is something going on that they could do like Bingo or they could go to prayer meetings, if they wanted to do that; there was a lot of things to do.

Just a couple of months ago, we decided it would be nice to move my father closer, so I just started to search; but he really doesn't want to move. He really wants to savor his stay at Polk Personal Care. He's comfortable there. He came from that area, so he knew several people from his time. The staff is absolutely terrific. They take good care of him and are very friendly. We are all pleased with the staff. They're like family. The room is comfortable. He has everything that he needs. They have activities, but unfortunately he has no hearing, so he's not very sociable. But they always have a bingo or game day, movies, and people go outside for a walk or a hike when the weather's nice. He complains about the food a lot. It's not the same as home. I certainly would recommend this to others. It gives me a lot of peace of mind; he has a place like that where they take good care of him with us 40 miles away. For us it's a comfort as well.
