"My mother wanted to go to Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, and they had a waiting list. She wants to go there because she had a brother, and sister-in-law who were there for a long time who were treated very well. Also, the director is a son of her favorite doctor, and it's closer to her home. The rooms were nice, and I liked them better because they had little kitchenettes, microwave, a refrigerator, and she doesn't have that where she is. They were a bit smaller, but adequate. They had programs. We were there around Thanksgiving, and they were having a salute to veterans. They have a very nice library which appealed to my mother. They have exercise programs, musical events, and people come in. "

"I would have to take an apartment there at RiverWoods, but when I saw the cottages at the other facility, I became very interested in starting out in a cottage. However, the staff was very friendly. It looked like they like their job, and they are very happy working there. I've seen their dining room. It was very nice and very comfortable, and they had a nice selection of food on their menu. I was impressed with the meal that I got there; it was excellent. I toured with my daughter and the admissions director, and she suggested we have lunch there, so we did. "

"My father is in Rockwell Retirement Center. The rooms are beautiful. It is an old school house, which they redid. The rooms are in very good size. The staff is very much accommodating. My father does not go down for activities. He is on ten liters of oxygen, and he just cannot do it, but they offer a lot of activities. He likes the food. The dining area is very nice. I recommend them. Rockwell is the best: 100%. "

"This is the cleanist Long Term Care facility I have ever been in! Everywhere I look I see a housekeeper. Pleasant, friendly environment. Staff are neatly dressed and professional. Management is very friendly and welcoming. The Therapy Department is impressive with simulation areas (a bedroom,handicapped bathroom, and kitchen area). There is also a small store to buy snacks, cards, etc in the lobby. It is refreshing (to say the least) to see the pride the staff has for this home and their residents! "

"The Manor at Penn Village is very close to my home, and I have known other families who had parents there. They were very pleased with the facility and I am also very pleased with it. The nurses are very thoughtful and they really look after the residents. I can call anytime, and they don't get annoyed with me when I call to check on my mother, because she's having a difficult time since her sister is also ill. So I also had my aunt there. My aunt and my mother were extremely close. And the nurses knew this. So when my aunt passed away the day after Christmas, they went the extra mile to be with my mother to help her through this difficult time. The facility is very clean and up to date. They serve fantastic meal and they offer a lot of activities for the residents. My mother gets her hair done every week. They try to make the residents feel it's like their home. They even have a chapel there. I've been very happy with it. I have no complaints. "

"My aunt moved into Nippenose Valley Village a month ago. The rooms are beautiful, she has one of the best there. Some of the rooms in their interior have no outside windows. We know the main person there, she really takes good care of her people, I have no complaints with the staff, they're doing really good. We've asked her if she's eating good, and she says yeah she loves everything. They've renovated, it's beautiful, when you first walk in, there's a big waterfall there, and there's like a little man-made pond with fish, It's a beautiful environment. They've kept part of the gym, half of it they made into a dining room, they kept the other half, and a lot of the residents go out there and throw basketballs around and get a little exercise around. I would definitely recommend them."

"Mother was at Emmanuel Center for about a month, and it was better, nicer, cleaner, and safer. The staff was better than average. I guess, she is in the beginnings of dementia. Her issue is that she would think that people didn’t take care of her in a timely manner, but we as her family thought that they were much better. I just admire the work that they tried to do with the patients. "

He is in a semi-private room. They have a few different lounge areas with TVs. His food is provided. The nurses provide medication. He is allowed to leave the facility for local trips or if family members want to take him out. "

"Roseview Manor was clean and nice. They had nice big rooms, two rooms that are enough for us. They provide three meals a day, and I like the setup of the dining area. I think it’s a nice, small place, and I will recommend this to others. "

"The Williamsport Home had two different areas. One was almost like an efficiency apartment, but they kept the stove turned off and had a refrigerator and a microwave. Another section was just rooms and the nursing staff was closer by. The staff was very friendly and very knowledgeable."

They have a lot of caring nurses there, they have activities constantly like Bingo and manicures for the women, they have an activities board where they list all the activities for the day, and they provide church services for them. We're really very happy with it, and we're glad. It's pretty much top of the line, and the food's good. It's always well-balanced, and there are good portions. We're very pleased with the way they treat her -- always very respectful and caring -- and they're easy to work with. It's a very good place. "

"North Ridge Center Personal Care is fantastic. The staff is great. The rooms are great, they're adequate size, and very well kept. I wouldn't have Mom at any other place. The food is fine, and the dining area is big enough for the amount of people that they have there. It's a very small place, and it's strictly assisted living. They have activities going on all the time. It's the best place in the area to be. It's out in the country, very quiet, and very peaceful. It's a really nice setting and has a family atmosphere."
