Assisted Living Communities in Richboro, PA

"My mother moved to The Solana Doylestown and we're pretty happy with it. It's not hospital-like, it's more apartment living but with memory care. Her room has two separate areas, the living room, and the bedroom, then there's a little kitchen area and a separate bathroom. It's small but it's got different areas like an apartment. I feel like they can still up their game with their food selection for memory care. They've got activities like exercise classes, arts and crafts, and a happy hour."

"I'm interested in Oakwood Residence, but it's costly. The rooms look like they belong in a five-star hotel. The activities were great and include live entertainment. Everything about the place was really nice. I just wish it was more accessible for people of lower income."

"I visited Sunrise of Abington. It's very clean and very neat. The person who took me on a tour was very knowledgeable. He showed me around and commented on everything. He showed me the rooms and introduced me to the staff. We sat and talked first and he gave me the price which is a little out of my father's range but I would still consider it there. Other than that, it was wonderful. When I came through the door, there was a little area with a chalkboard with my name on it, welcoming me. That felt nice. It's a beautiful place and they have a lot to offer. They also have a monthly schedule of things they do throughout the day, which is very nice. It's a full day, and you don't have to do all the events they have but they are available. I toured the memory care part of the facility because that's what my dad needs and they said that if the residents want to go out, they have people that will take them out. They don't keep them confined where they can't get out. You need a code to get out but if he wanted to go out and sit out or whatever, somebody would go out with him. I felt comfortable with that."

"My Father has been a resident of Legacy Gardens for several years. The loving care and support he receives there is beyond exceptional. Every member of the staff consistently goes above and beyond what is practical and necessary to provide a safe and loving family environment. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this facility. If you are lucky enough to find an opening at this facility - you should count your lucky stars. "

"We moved my mother into NewSeasons at New Britain. The dining area is lovely. The physical appearance of it is very nice. The staff seems very kind, and they're the kind of people you would want in an assisted living. "

"My dad has been in Brookdale Florence for a little while now. It's a very nice place and it's very clean. The rooms are very nice. They provide entertainment for the residents and try to keep them busy. We like the location and the people. Overall, they've been very kind and seem to be caring. Dad is getting worse. We're hoping he can stay here for a while because his health is failing. The only thing that has happened so far that I was not happy with was they had to change his room. We knew he was going to switch rooms, but now he's going to change rooms twice. I was not really happy about it but things happen. It was out of their control, it was a bit of a mix up. I don't really have anything negative to say about the place at all. So far, so good."

"Philadelphia Protestant Home is very clean and looks good. What I like about it is it’s reasonable with one-bedrooms priced around $80,000 or $90,000. I like it a lot better because it’s less money, and money is important. What I saw from the tour, the restaurants and the activities looked good. The people I talked to were good people. "

"St. Mary Manor was a lovely assisted living home, complete with an on-site chapel, a very important feature to my church-going grandmother. The facility was divided into two wings--the Alzheimer's ward and the more independent rooms where residents did not need as much care or supervision. St. Mary's provided wonderful amenities such as a library, computer room, laundry room, and a hair salon. The food served in the cafeteria left my grandmother raving about it and the staff were all very nice and very competent at their jobs, always taking care to check on the residents, hand out their medication, and generally be a positive source of happiness in the resident's life. "

"I liked that The Terraces at Lawrence is close to me because I'm the one who would be visiting my sister there. We spoke to some people and they were very friendly, and helpful, and went out of their way to try to accommodate my interest and question. Linda gave me the tour and she was great. The rooms were fine and the dining area was attractive. I especially liked the chapel that was there. I didn't see many people, but it seemed pleasantly friendly. They have games and outings to go places and movies."

"I toured here for my father, and it was a nice facility. I went through everything and talked to different people, and they even introduced me to some of the people that were there. I like the place. They have a salon. They also have a courtyard for the people to go to. It was completely enclosed, which was good so nobody can kind of walk off or anything. They have food there, but I wasn't there during lunchtime. They were done with dinner when I got there. I didn't get there until after 5:00. They waited for me because I went to the wrong place first. But everybody was pleasant and very helpful. They answered any questions I had. Everything was freshly painted and looked good. It's got trees and it looks like a house almost."

"Springfield Senior Living was cute on the inside, it felt homey, and the staff was nice. The person who gave me the tour was great. She was very informative and patient with us and took us around. Their studio apartment was an adequate size, and certainly enough for what you need. We didn't dine there, but we saw the dining area, it looked a little less dining and more like a hospital cafeteria."

"My dad is at Riverview Estates. It's nonprofit; it's not a big corporation. It's more like a family. It's close to home, so on my way home from work, I can stop, I can see him, and hang out for a half hour and not have to spend half my day traveling to bring him here and bring him back. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. The place is an old Victorian that's been kept up, and it's right on the river. They can sit on the porch in the summertime and look at the river and see the sailboats go by. They have trips to ShopRite and Target. They've got more activities than I can count. They get a list of stuff for every day. They have people that come in and they have entertainment."

"My mom is at Blue Bell Place. She was already in there for assisted living, but she got worse, and her doctor suggested that she be moved to dementia care. Blue Bell Place has a dementia unit, so it made the move very easy. The staff is very nice. The facility is very nice. Her room when she was in the assisted living was very nice, but in the dementia unit, their rooms are a little bit more spartan. They're not as big, and they don't look quite as nice. They're very utilitarian. They're there basically just to have a place to sleep. They have activities everyday, but there are quite a percentage of people that don't participate in them because they are not aware to be able to do that. Based on what I've seen and my experience with it, it is well-run, and the people are nice; that's what you need. "
