"Sterling House of Florence requires cash up front and that's why I couldn't get involved with them, but the staff were all fine. The rooms are very nice. This facility was my first choice because of the location. I would definitely recommend this facility and I have a lot of relatives and friends that had been in there. "

"I like the step-up program at Holland Village, It's all in the same place. The staff members that I met during the tour were all very kind and caring. The room was just the right size for what I was looking for. There's a heated indoor swimming pool, which is a wonderful thing, and they have medical staff on duty. I would choose to live there."

"My mother has been a resident in the assisted living side of this home for about 2 years. She recently had a fall, and I was notified within 30 minutes! They took her to the ER via Ambulance, and I got calls from Riverview, the EMTs during transport and then from the hospital. She is back now in the rehab side of the home, and is being treated carefully and kindly. The nursing staff is excellent, they all seem to love their work and their clients. I have gotten all concerns addressed ASAP. The location is wonderful, right on the banks of the Delaware River. I live in another state (Mom's choice not to move out of her area, where she has lived since 1955) and there are 4 basic but clean and quiet guest rooms, for only $30.00 a night. This makes my visits with mom less stressful for me, and I'm able to participate in all her activities and dine with her (for a very small fee). I would highly recommend Riverview Estates. "

"Walking into the facility, the lobby was clean and clearly kept well, the residents were sitting on comfortable looking couches and mingling in the lounge areas. Making my way down the hall way to the dining area, I noticed the many amenities the place offers, such as a movie theatre. I could not find the dining area at first, so I asked a nearby staff member for help locating it. The staff member I interacted with was very polite and helpful. After finding my way, I walked into the dining area which was very large and had plenty of seating. The dining area, just like every other part of the building I was in, was also very clean. After being seated, we were promply brought over garlic bread and water. The staff members serving the food were very thankful to us for having come out to the fundraiser. The food was all you can eat, which was a steal for the ten dollars that was charged. If I ever have to make a decision regarding having to place a loved one in a assisted living facility, this place would certainly be one first choice. The overall atmosphere of the facility is one where you can be confident that your family members are being taken care of properly. "

"Wynwood have been very nice, helpful, and they do anything for my uncle. The place is spotless, and I'm very happy with it. The rooms are a lot better than the other places I visited. The people seem nicer, too. They have daily exercises, group meetings, and I believe they sponsor trips. I like that it's so clean. "

"When it came to receive extra care for my mother, I would have done anything to keep her out of a retirement home. Since my father had passed away, I had become the decision maker of her future. We looked around at different places in Philadelphia, but I wanted her to be somewhere that she would feel at home. Then I found the Philadelphia Protestant Home. The people were so nice as soon as we walked in and we felt very welcomed. We looked at different packages and picked the one that best suited our needs, and medicare covered just about all of it. Our favorite feature was that she didn't receive a little room, she received a miniature home. She had everything she needed, even her own bathroom. I was afraid of how she would react to the food, since I have heard of bad experiences with the cooking in places like this, but even I enjoyed the food! My mother has her own meal plan where she could eat three meals a day and snacks like muffins in between. She even made her own group of friends with the other residents at the Protestant home and they did numerous activities to keep everybody involved. My mother passed away in November of 2010, but I know that she enjoyed the last few months of her life. She was surrounded by her new friends, whom she referred to as her family. I was able to visit her whenever I wanted and they kept us very involved in her daily schedules and medical problems. I am glad my mother had the experience that she did at the Protestant Home, because it changed the way that I think about retirement homes. I would definitely recommend them to anybody. "

"We loved Sunrise of Lower Makefield, and it's definitely one of the places we would consider when the time comes. I liked the people, the facility, and the different apartments. It had a very neighborhood type of feel inside the facility, and it was very well-designed. They had a lot of group activities and would take the residents outside of the community, which was great. Their dining room facility was lovely. They did different theme days and had a lot of activities that were appropriate for someone living there."

"I visited Sunrise of Abington. It's very clean and very neat. The person who took me on a tour was very knowledgeable. He showed me around and commented on everything. He showed me the rooms and introduced me to the staff. We sat and talked first and he gave me the price which is a little out of my father's range but I would still consider it there. Other than that, it was wonderful. When I came through the door, there was a little area with a chalkboard with my name on it, welcoming me. That felt nice. It's a beautiful place and they have a lot to offer. They also have a monthly schedule of things they do throughout the day, which is very nice. It's a full day, and you don't have to do all the events they have but they are available. I toured the memory care part of the facility because that's what my dad needs and they said that if the residents want to go out, they have people that will take them out. They don't keep them confined where they can't get out. You need a code to get out but if he wanted to go out and sit out or whatever, somebody would go out with him. I felt comfortable with that."

"Loved this place for my Mom....they kept her going for the 7 months she was there. The staff is kind and caring; they pay attention to your loved one. My mom unfortunately had to go to a hospital and onto nursing care. We are working with hospice; she, even with her Alzheimers and Congestive Heart Failure, still asks for the people at Spring Hills. My mother needs skilled nursing care, which Spring Hills does not provide; however, they do provide a beautiful place that is active and enjoyable with fine dining, lots of activities and great friends for your loved one, as long as they do not need a nurse 24/7. "Springfield Senior Living was cute on the inside, it felt homey, and the staff was nice. The person who gave me the tour was great. She was very informative and patient with us and took us around. Their studio apartment was an adequate size, and certainly enough for what you need. We didn't dine there, but we saw the dining area, it looked a little less dining and more like a hospital cafeteria."

"My friend was a resident of Fountain View at Logan Square. They do get you up and around and they don't want the patients to be laying in the bed all the time, and I thought that was very good. The problem is, it's a very good facility, but it's out of a lot of people's reach. I did look at their apartments and it was attached to the rehab center, which I felt was great, but it was pretty expensive. I'm sure there are ways of working it out. I did speak to the person who was in charge of social work there, and she was pretty helpful. It was very nice. They have group sessions, which I felt were very good because she was able to socialize. It was a nice facility. It was just very expensive. I thought this one was one of the nicer ones, mainly because it was also an apartment. They kept it up very nicely. The apartments were very nice, everything seemed to be running very well, and the patient care was very good. Their staff was very good."
