"We're leaning towards St. Mary's Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare. The decision for St. Mary's is that my mother's funding is going to last the longest there. The people that took us around were very friendly. I liked that they had activities for all the seniors to do. The apartments were a little outdated, but they're very roomy, and I like that they supply the furniture."

"My friend moved into Penn Assisted Care. It was a good match for him. It wasn't a hard process at all. The staff members are very helpful. They take the time to address any situations that need to be addressed. They're very professional. My friend likes the food. They have day rooms and people interact with each other. It's a pleasant setting and very personal."

"My mother is in memory care at The Solana Doylestown. It is secured. The staff is very helpful and very courteous. They're very accommodating. The place is outstanding. It looks like a vacation resort. They take them on bus trips. They just had a car show last weekend. It is very nice. They have a library and a beauty salon. It's beautiful."

"I moved my mom to Blue Bell Place in mid October with tremendous anxiety over the transition. The staff are kind, patient, very well versed with dementia patients, and the facility itself has a very welcoming and homey feel. In summary, this transition could not have been any better - my mom is engaged in activities every day and very happy, which takes the weight of the world off my shoulders. The activities directors are amazing and take interest in each resident - whenever I visit they are sure to share a story/picture with me. I looked at many places and am so happy that I went with my gut on Blue Bell Place - I believe it to be a special place in its own right and feel 200% confident with the care/attention my mom receives on a daily basis. "We chose Columbia Cottage Collegeville for mom because it's a small community, and the caregiver to resident ratio is favorable. They offer a variety of activities and services, and the location was also beneficial. They had 10 levels of care from independent living all the way through to skilled nursing. It is great because she can age in place, and the staff has been amazing. They have three different sized rooms. My mom is in a 312 square foot room (which doesn't sound like much), but it is perfect for a single person. There's a full bathroom with a walk-In shower and pull cords by the bed and in the bathroom for assistance. There are three different sized rooms. They're generally on a wait list, but we happen to call them at a good time. They have one available. It's really like a big home. They have a living room, a TV area, dining room, and kitchen (which is all open for the residents to use as they like). They also have a hair salon onsite, as well as a physical therapy area. They have therapists that come in several times a week and a hairdresser that's there two days a week. They also have a nurse on-staff 24 hours a day, and they're great. If there's any medical assistance needed, they're there. They have various activities like arts and crafts, games, bingo, and movie night. They also have a vehicle, so they can do scheduled transportation to doctor's appointments. There are two courtyards inside the building, so residents can go outside and enjoy them without the risk of anybody wandering off. She likes the food so far."

"My loving, charismatic grandpop has always had a larger than life personality. My grandmom always had a way of grounding him and caring for him, most times better than he for himself! When we lost our beloved grandmom, we knew it was only a matter of time before the daily tasks of living in his house, on his own, would become too much for him to handle. It was extremely emotional making the decision to sell his home and move my grandpop into Senior Suites. We were worried about his adjustment initially, however my family has never second guessed our decision. Since his move to what we now call his “apartment” (Private suite with full bath), my grandpop has gained more than we could have ever wished for him; a strong community of friends and companions, a staff that loves and cares for him as if he were their own dad/grandpop, a schedule that has more social activities than I can keep up with, and a peace of mind in knowing that he is no longer living alone. As his grandchildren, we couldn’t be happier to see him have his spunk back. Within the first year of his new residency, he was on the “Senior” Homecoming Court and won Homecoming King, he has established “his” seat in one of the beautiful rockers out on the front porch where he can be found solving the world’s problems in deep discussions with his new friends, he has developed relationships with nursing team (Thank you God for these angels), and he now has a sense of security that cannot be replicated anywhere else. Most times if we take him out, he is asking us “when it will be time to go back to the apartment?” This confirms for us, he is exactly where he belongs . "

"We went to Pinnacle at Plymouth Meeting. We looked there at the two-bedroom, two-bath. It was very nice. The place was set up like a main street town, which was really very nice. You walk in one area and it looks like they have a general store, a bistro, a theater, and private dining room for families. They have a game room on the Main Street. It was very cleverly decorated. They have a salon and spa, they have yoga and exercises, and they have lecture rooms where they have different topics brought in. The two-bedroom has a full kitchen. The staff was very pleasant and professional."

"The Willow was convenient to our house. The general process of how they dealt with their residence was good. However, we didn't see as much interaction between the person that was taking us around and the residents. She stopped a few times to adjust the woman's sweater which seemed to be slumping out a little bit, and she talked to one or two residents. There was good interaction, but not quite as much as at the other place. However, they're one of our high choices. The staff who gave us the tour was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. She gave us some additional information on nursing care, and she was extremely helpful in providing information on in-home care, too. It looked like they had all the bases covered. They had hairdressers, doctor's visits, and a shower schedule. One thing that was better about The Willow is that they had separate shower facilities, and most of the other facilities had showers in the rooms. Of course, the places with showers in the rooms would assist the residents with the showers, but it was probably safer to have a separate shower facility in case the resident woke up in the middle of the night and decided they wanted to get a shower would fall or something. "

"It seemed like a caring place with plenty of activities. The staff was very nice. We toured the entire facility and saw more than one room. "

"We are still trying to get my aunt in there, and we have kind of chosen Brookdale Northampton as the one that we want to get her into. Everything was great. It is hard to pick one thing out. All I know is that her brother -- my uncle -- was overwhelmed with the place, and he decided this is where she should be. They were just very good. We were able to see everything, and we liked everything. They have multiple community rooms, and it had more of a homelike feeling. "

"I toured Riverton Enhanced Senior Living. It has an open design so that you don't feel like you're in a narrow hall all the time, and it seems to be well supplied with furnishings, so nice atmosphere. The staff was a good communicator, answered all my questions, and seemed to be easy to work with."

"The person who checked me in at Bethlehem Manor was very informative and a very nice person. It just seemed small and confined for my liking. It wasn't as homey as I thought it could be as far as appearance goes. I didn't go around the community because of the COVID. It felt more like an institution. I would suggest that they try to make the place look more homey or friendlier."

"I'm leaning towards Phoebe Allentown. They were very, very nice, I filled up all the applications, gave them the documents they wanted. The apartments were much smaller than what I have here. They have transportation, one meal a day, socialization and activities, and in their continuing care they have assisted living down the street and nursing home. It was clean and it is maintained, there's no problem there. The staff was very wonderful."
