"I visited Paradise Manor. They were very accommodating and very knowledgeable. The place was clean. It seemed to have everything there that was needed, and it's close to where I live. I believe it's like $1,500 a month. I didn't see many activities. I basically just saw the amenities. It's more of a studio-type environment."

"My cousin will move into Traditions of Lansdale. I like it because it's all on one floor. Every door, I don't have to worry about her walking off because there's a desk right there as they come out of their unit. They have little apartments; they don't have rooms. You could get a private or semi-private one and share it with someone else, and they're really nice. They're like an efficiency apartment, and that's what I liked about it. The dining room is nice. They have a good chef there who prepares really nice food. I love the layout. Even as you enter, it's very welcoming. There's music playing, and activities going on. All the residents are engaging with each other, and the staff is very welcoming. Lansdale is not in the busy section. It's out around residential areas, and it's very, very nice. It was clean, spotless, and there was no odor or anything. We didn't eat there, but we did meet the chef. When he came to me, he told us about his meals, and the people seemed to enjoy it."

"My husband will be moving to the Hidden Meadows on the Ridge. Their staff members are very outgoing, concerned, and conscientious. The facility was beautiful, and each room has a bed, dresser, armoire, nightstand, and an easy chair. It's a very spacious place. There are a lot of activities that my husband is interested in, like birdwatching. There's a lot of room for him to move around and meet people."

"My mother stayed at St. Mary Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare for a little while. They were wonderful and very accommodating. She was there for two weeks for subacute rehab. They had lovely, accommodating staff. I have nothing negative to say about them. She wasn't happy with the whole thing though. She was in a single room by herself and it was OK. COVID is going on, but they did the best they could under the circumstances. If somebody had an outbreak, they cut down people to visit. She was in a subacute rehab, so it was like a hospital room. She had her own private room and it was up by the nurses' station because she's a fall risk, so it was noisy, but she needed that. It was an OK place. It wasn't a 5-star hotel, but for what it was, it was good. It was a Catholic facility, so they had a beautiful chapel. It was really good for pastoral care, which I thought she would like because she's very religious. That was a wonderful thing. They had mass, and they had access to religious counseling to help you get through whatever you're getting through. That was a nice asset. The staff was wonderful. I looked at other places and I picked this one because they have a chapel that was beautiful and their pastoral care. Other facilities were more modern and had more activities, but she's 90, so we picked this because of the religious piece of it, and it was wonderful for what we were looking for. It was great."

"Columbia Cottage Collegeville looked very nice, and the people there were very congenial. It was relatively new, and it was right across the street from the Collegeville diner, and I liked their tuna fish sandwiches. It was also near the Toastmaster Club that I belong to. Everything I saw looked very nice. The room looked nice. Everything was clean. It's in a very good neighborhood. I saw the grounds, the office, and they had a little room where they held a cooking class."

"I would give New Seasons a high score. Liz did a fabulous job and I had a great tour. They showed me around, talked to different people, and it was nice. I liked the facility very much although it was a good distance away from where my dad is right now. The rooms were nice and bright, the residents seemed happy, and they had some activities going on. "My husband moved to the assisted living facility of Blue Bell Place. It just felt homey, and the area was so peaceful and pretty. Everyone there also seemed to care. He has a studio, but it's large. Everything fits in there, and he doesn't feel cramped. We didn't have any problem getting some furniture and a bed, and there's still plenty of room. The only thing I didn't like when I first toured the place was that teeny weeny kitchenette. I had seen other places with a larger kitchenette. An improvement they could make in the future, if possible, would be to have a slightly larger kitchen. They have exercise classes, and I was just up there to see him the day before yesterday, and they brought in puppies for people to hold and pet, and that was nice. They've had a singer come and entertain. My husband said he's played cornhole and done a lot of walking out front on the property. Everything's paved there so that it's easy for him to walk. I know they also have poker and a happy hour. I have not tried the food, but he has no complaints about it. When I go there, I feel very comfortable, and I have no complaints about the way he's being treated. Everyone is very nice, and he gets attention. He also gets checked on regularly, and it seems clean. I'm pleased with what I've seen so far."

"My sister moved up to Phoebe Richland Community. It was very welcoming. They gave her all the physical therapy she could handle, which was great. She had physical therapy almost every day and occupational therapy almost every day when she got there. She still gets it quite frequently. The staff is very nice. She enjoys the other residents there. She says she has a wonderful time getting to know them and they're very caring also. I was there one Saturday when the director himself was helping someone move into their memory care area. He was moving the clothing and stuff in himself on a Saturday. They're just delightful. There's an exercise class of some kind every morning, wheelchair volleyball, chair, or tai-chi. There's at least one activity every morning and one or two activities every afternoon. Every day I call or when I talk to my sister, she'll say, "Oh yes, we had an exercise this morning." It's a smaller place, so they can't offer the diversity of activities that a larger facility might offer. The assisted living has a beautiful lounge area when you walk in. The dining room is lovely. You couldn't ask for anything better. I get no complaints from my sister except there's no salt, but she can bring some herself. That's for health reasons. I saw two small library reading areas, a game room, a big lounge, and a dining room. She's in a temporary room right now because there were no rooms available, so it's a little small but very nice and furnished. It has a dresser, a wardrobe, a chair, a bed, a little kitchenette, and a beautiful bathroom that's handicapped accessible. It is less expensive than others for definitely something better. Their staff is especially caring. This place is much more consistent with their staffing, which means the staff gets to know their people better."

"We toured Springfield Senior Living. We chose them because the price was within her budget and seemed like a nice place. We also got a good recommendation from a friend about it. The staff are very polite and friendly. The space was very clean and looked comfortable. We looked at a studio, which looked decent for a studio apartment. The dining area was nice, neat, and comfortable, and the parking was good."

"I toured Daylesford Crossing. It's a wonderful place, with wonderful people and very modern-looking rooms. The staff knows every resident by name, so everybody is on a first-name basis. They took me to their physical therapy room and event room. They were doing some events when I got there. They were having a magic show. They didn't have the level of care that my parents needed, but it was one of the top ones that we liked. They had a very small library. They had someone come once a week to do hair and nails. The gym was the physical therapy room, so it was a smaller room. It was more like an apartment building."

"Amity Place took very good care of my father. He never complained about the place and the food. The staff was fantastic. The rooms were very nice. They were just the right size and they always kept cleaning. The staff always took care of him. Even when he was bedridden, they made sure he was shaved and made sure that he was cleaned. They just did a very good job. We took him on Valentine's Day and when we got there, they were having a little Valentine's Day party in the community area. They also had a St. Patty's Day party, and a Mother's day tea, and on Fridays, they have a church service in the community area that everybody can take part in. So, something is going on almost all the time."
