"Erie Homes for Children and Adults is more like a big family opposed to being a assistant living center. The services they provide and the staff always go above and beyond for their consumers and clients. Their facilities are set up like a home and not like a hospital which in my opinion makes the experience there so much more pleasant for everyone. The first time I ever toured EHCA I was blown away by how clean and home like the facility was. The atmosphere is just as great, you can tell that the nurses and aides who work there go into work everyday because they enjoy what they dont and dont just go everyday for a pay check. My sister has been a client of EHCA since she was very small so my personal experience with them has been a very close one for many years. I have recommended EHCA to many people who seek a personal opinion on places such as these and I would recommend it to anyone who has worried their loved ones would not be cared for properly, at EHCA you would have your mind put to rest since they treat all their clients like their own family who they care for and love just as much as their own. "

"My mother is placed at Sarah Reed. She has been there three months now. We chose it because I was familiar with it. I was impressed with it. My sister's mother-in-law was there for several years, too. It is a good sized place. We are pleased with it. My mom has a room, which essentially has a bed, bathroom, etc. The staff is excellent. They keep in touch with us every 90 days, and frequently in between that time. The activities are quite numerous. My mother is involved with music, church, cards, etc. "

"We went to The Residence at Presque Isle Bay. If I had to rate this on any other one, I would have put my parents in there in a heartbeat. But my mom said that it was too close to the lake and that she already felt cold just looking at it. We were like, okay, mom. So we chose the one with the stove in the room because we know my mom likes to cook, so that was a deal breaker. The tour guide was super friendly. She called me up. She had a follow-up phone call with me. She was super helpful. My sister and I were just impressed with the sunrooms in that place. How sunny it was, how bright it was, and just how new things looked. We just liked it. Everything that we saw was very nice. And the people were very friendly. The library was very important to my dad. They did have very small libraries there, but I'm sure the bookmobile comes to them. They were talking about the bookmobile coming to them. And obviously, they would have outings to the library if they needed them. So, it was all good."

"I just went through two years of cancer treatment, and I'm here in Regency at South Shore because I'm trying to look out for myself. I'm doing OK now, but I don't know what's coming tomorrow. They have 24-hour nursing care here. They have pull cords for emergencies in the bathroom and in the bedroom. It's here to look out for me if something happens to me. It is clean. The staff seems really good. I think it's a good value for everything that is available to me."

"Springhill in Erie has good activities, good therapy, and good care. I looked at their assisted living and they have daily activities like bingo, music therapy, and card games. They also have church services and they always have something to do every day. It's very, very clean, easy to get around, and they have very good staff."

"Westlake Woods Erie, PA was very nice. Everyone was very pleasant and very helpful. From what I could see, they took very good care of the people that were entrusted to them. It was clean, it was neat, and it just seemed to offer a lot of nice things. The staff was very accommodating, answered my questions, and was very helpful. I was pleased with everything. My mother-in-law had been there some years ago. I went there because I liked it when she was there."

"We went to look at Manchester Commons. The rooms were very nice. The staff was very nice. The facility was nice, open, and friendly. They had a lot of things to do. The dining room was pretty. It seemed like a very laid-back, comfortable place. The only thing we didn't like was that they didn't have a lot of outside activities due to what they called COVID restrictions. The staff was warm, friendly, very kind, and open. They had the best room there. They had a little alcove for the bed, and we really liked that. It's more roomy. The atmosphere felt welcoming. They had a big, open dining room. It was like a restaurant."

"We're looking at Orchard Grove Residences for my friend. My mom lived there for eight years before she passed away two years ago. They treated her wonderfully. The staff doesn't treat them like a job or a patient, this one girl would come over and hug my mom and kiss her on the cheek. They treat them like family. They had a lady that came in and they would sing along and they did bingo and they had other little things that they could do. And every week they either went to Walmart or the next week they would go to Wegmans. They would take them. They had a patio outback. I took her to one of those big swings, and they could sit out there on the swing and have a cover over it if the sun was too warm. Sometimes in the summer, they would have their lunch out there if they wanted. They had a grill out there where they would grill hotdogs and hamburgers for them. I told my kids, if I have to be someplace, put me there. They're all single rooms and each room has its own bathroom. And the other thing that I liked was when they do laundry, it's not community laundry. When it was my mom's shower day, they did her laundry while she was taking her shower. It was just her clothes. Some of the ladies had the choice, they could do their own laundry, or the staff could do it, and a couple of the ladies chose to do their own laundry."

"These lovely people took great care of my Mothers friend, Irene, in her last few weeks of life. They were thoughtful, caring and compassionate. I am an RN with experiance in palliative care and I have never seen better. They are truly a team that puts their heart into their work. "

"WCA Home was very clean. The grounds were very pretty. The staff was very welcoming and very warm. They played cards, had live music, movie nights, and arts and crafts. They were really good and very attentive. They got a small dining room, but they got a second dining room, too, (if necessary), depending on the number of residents they have there."
