"I had the opportunity to visit this lovely community over the holidays to see a long time family friend. Her room has a huge window and a bathroom twice as big as the one I have at home! It was the first community I have ever visited in this area that was set up in this way, I believe they call it "small house" but truly it is set up like a nice new home with room mates. So much more comfortable than an apartment style building in my opinion. The staff was very accommodating in welcoming us to dinner even though we just dropped in on them. "

"We visited Fredonia Place, which was very impressive and probably a top-of-the-line assisted living. It was very impressive. They had a bar area with games and happy hour. The place was really clean. The people that we were in contact with were very knowledgeable. It was just a very nice place but very expensive. The lunches were very good. They have Alzheimer’s patients, and staff tried to calm down Alzheimer’s patients and lead them where they needed to go, which is a five-star thing. "

"WCA Home was very clean. The grounds were very pretty. The staff was very welcoming and very warm. They played cards, had live music, movie nights, and arts and crafts. They were really good and very attentive. They got a small dining room, but they got a second dining room, too, (if necessary), depending on the number of residents they have there."

"We ended up putting Dad in Randolph Manor, which I find adequate and clean. I ate lunch there and the food was good, but there's no liquor. The facility is like an old Victorian house changed into rooms for adults, so it is very pretty. The people there care very much for the people and are happy there. I see that they give Dad good care. I am satisfied with them. Dad has a double room of his own. They allow him to have a piano there because he plays piano and have just been very accommodating. The staff is happy while they’re working, and you can tell it in the way they treat their people. When I go in and take Dad out, we let them know, so they don’t plan dinner or lunch for him. "

"I did a tour of St Columban's on the Lake. It was extremely beautiful. They have a beautiful setting right on the lake. The staff were very friendly, and the facilities were very well kept up. The rooms were nice and good-sized. They have field excursions, exercise classes, and craft classes. Before COVID they have cooking classes, I don't know if they still do. They have bingo, things of that nature, the normal stuff. They have both a chapel and a library."

"We have been pleased with the care given to my father and step mother here. The facility is always clean and the staff has been very helpful and fun. The Suites have also been very accommodating when financial problems occurred. It is very convenient that the med's are all handled through Diamond and administered (in our case) by the nursing staff. The food is ok. Activities seem pretty well handled although our parents here won't participate :-(."

"I toured Cambridge Warren Senior Living for my mother. It is a lovely setting right in downtown Warren. It's right on the river, the Allegheny River, so they have an outdoor patio area, and their dining rooms are overlooking the river. They had a courtyard in the middle of the facility, but it was outdoors, and it was a very nice courtyard for people to be in. I think there was a small gazebo in there. I liked it because it was a smaller facility. I think they have 60 beds, and that also includes memory care. I felt the residents would probably have a little more one on one interaction with the staff because it being a smaller facility. They had suites with a living area, separate bedroom, little kitchen nook, and bathroom. The only downside is the place used to be a motel, so they have built a wall, and I think it was the outside entrances to the motel. They have built a glass wall along the hallway, so now it's interior, but the problem is there is one step up into each suite. For people like my mother, it would be a difficult task to handle, if you're on a walker. They had a lovely activity room with floor-to-ceiling windows, they had a theater with actual theater seats where they do movies, and two beautiful dining rooms."
