"We went to The Residence at Presque Isle Bay. If I had to rate this on any other one, I would have put my parents in there in a heartbeat. But my mom said that it was too close to the lake and that she already felt cold just looking at it. We were like, okay, mom. So we chose the one with the stove in the room because we know my mom likes to cook, so that was a deal breaker. The tour guide was super friendly. She called me up. She had a follow-up phone call with me. She was super helpful. My sister and I were just impressed with the sunrooms in that place. How sunny it was, how bright it was, and just how new things looked. We just liked it. Everything that we saw was very nice. And the people were very friendly. The library was very important to my dad. They did have very small libraries there, but I'm sure the bookmobile comes to them. They were talking about the bookmobile coming to them. And obviously, they would have outings to the library if they needed them. So, it was all good."

I also liked the fact that their aides are CNAs, which was a big selling point for me. They had non-denominational religious services weekly and a wide variety of activities for their residents, from bingo to music groups that come in. They had several common areas and a great secure outdoor space. They have a weekly menu, so I could help Mom choose meals in advance. They always offer two entrees and a sandwich choice. They are flexible with the residents' eating schedules."

"What a great place for respite care! I stayed at the Villa while I was recuperating from surgery and it couldn’t have been a better choice for me. Living alone presents many challenges after a surgical procedure. The Villa provided an atmosphere of healing and level of comfort that helped me until I was able to ‘go it alone.’ Having a place where I was nurtured and cared for made the transition back into ‘normal’ living so much easier. From the moment I arrived, I felt pampered. The staff was friendly, helpful and attentive in making certain my comfort and safety were a top priority. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a lovely view from the large picture window. The food was excellent: well prepared with lots of choices and variety each day. And I was surprised, not only at the quality of the food, but also the aesthetics of its preparation. There were also activities every day and a lovely place to walk around the grounds. This was especially helpful to me in speeding my recovery. I am grateful that Conneaut has such an amazing facility available for respite care. Because I was able to spend this time in the presence of such caring people and wonderful service, I am now back home. I feel a deep sense of appreciation for each and everyone at the Villa who made this possible. Thanks to all at the Villa, for a very successful stay. "

"My dad will be moving into Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community. We spoke with a young lady named Jennifer. She's the admittance director and the tour she gave was very nice. We chose this place, because as my dad's condition worsens he won't have to leave the facility. He'll just be moved to a different wing and he liked that idea. They had very nice rooms. They had shared rooms and private rooms. They had community rooms with TVs where people could go and have family get-togethers or birthday parties for residents. They had games, puzzles, and different activities. They had a beautiful garden outside that residents could work in, a flower garden or in a vegetable garden that was raised, so they didn't have to bend over. They had trips for the ones who wanted to go. They had a barbershop/salon, a little gift shop, and a chapel. They had very attentive nurses, aides, and volunteers. They had frequent visitors by clergy and other denominations. Their whole facility was pretty much on level ground, so residents could go outside and walk around. They could leave and go on vacations with their families if they wanted to. Everyone there was extremely friendly. Their food was really good. They made everything fresh right there."
