My father recuperated at Wesbury United Methodist Community rehab area. It was a very clean and very nice facility. The people there were all wonderful. I think that they were very friendly, caring, and very informative. He had a large room with one bed and a half bathroom that was very nice. At first, he didn’t like the food, but before he left, he was enjoying it. If he would have to go some place again, I think this is probably where we would choose to have him.

My dad will be moving into Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community. We spoke with a young lady named Jennifer. She's the admittance director and the tour she gave was very nice. We chose this place, because as my dad's condition worsens he won't have to leave the facility. He'll just be moved to a different wing and he liked that idea. They had very nice rooms. They had shared rooms and private rooms. They had community rooms with TVs where people could go and have family get-togethers or birthday parties for residents. They had games, puzzles, and different activities. They had a beautiful garden outside that residents could work in, a flower garden or in a vegetable garden that was raised, so they didn't have to bend over. They had trips for the ones who wanted to go. They had a barbershop/salon, a little gift shop, and a chapel. They had very attentive nurses, aides, and volunteers. They had frequent visitors by clergy and other denominations. Their whole facility was pretty much on level ground, so residents could go outside and walk around. They could leave and go on vacations with their families if they wanted to. Everyone there was extremely friendly. Their food was really good. They made everything fresh right there.

Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community is of nice quality. It covers all services, so it's an entire spectrum of care from independent to hospice. They seemed very large and more institutional. It wasn't quite as warm, but it was still clean. Everything about it was good, but it didn't seem quite as much, like home.

Wesbury failed my father and our family terribly! He thoroughly enjoyed his time in independent living but once he entered Grace Rehabilitation Center the lack of compassion, lack of honest communication, and coverups by staff and administration was horrifying. There are so many disturbing facts surrounding my father's case they can not all be told in this format. I will say that two weeks after my father passed away in December the laundry department called my sister to let her know his laundry, dating back to October, was now ready. Should they take it to his room or did she want to take it to him? HE PASSED AWAY TWO WEEKS PRIOR to that phone call!!! The care he received was so bad that our family filed a formal complaint with the PA DOH. Because Wesbury staff lied to the DOH no official violations were found. However, what Wesbury fails to realize is we have documented proof from their own records that were supplied to us. I am not sure what documents Wesbury showed DOH but they obviously differ from what they supplied the family. Not a good look for them but falls in line with our experiences. The staff and administration have to live with knowing how horribly they failed & lied and that PA DOH spent three full days breathing down their necks. Hopefully, they will never treat another resident and family the way they treated ours.

My mother was at Wesbury United Methodist when she was still alive, and they were not helpful. They did not communicate well about my mother's health, but they were OK. I can say that they could not handle dementia patients. Their food is nursing home food. I don’t think they have many activities.

My mother had been in several homes. This was the one we chose out of all of the others in the area. I brought by cat with me on most visits and she was very welcome in the facility. My mother shared a room, but had her own tv etc. They had fun activities for everyone. The thing I liked the most, was teh care takers and the fact that there was not a strong smell of urine as in the other homes she had been in. It was kept clean and neat.
