"Hawthorn Health Multicare Center is phenomenal! Everybody there are nice and polite. And I just talked to their physical therapist, they are always positive about everything! Pushing always their patients for the better. And they don’t let their patients dine in their own room. They encourage their residents to dine in the hall to socialize, get to know other and interact. And that is something my grand-dad needs. Very nice place and very nice people! "

"My mother was a resident at this facility and many times when I visited I was very upset to see that she was left lying naked with no bottoms on, in full view of an open door. Our family certainly provided adequate clothing. In addition, she was also left with food trays where containers were not opened or so far away she couldn't reach for them. She was often wheeled into a large dining room and left alone unattended. "

"Mercy Nursing Home at OLV (Mercy Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility) had excellent staff and facilities. My mom's room was spacious, and she stayed there for two weeks. The bathroom was shared, and she also had a sink in her room and a nice view from her window. They were accommodating and took care of her. They had hairdressers and did people's nails. They also had a rehab center and good meals. Each floor had their own kitchen. It was family-style eating with larger tables. The place is a little bit older but it's still in good shape. They were also cheaper and better than my mom's previous facility."

"I believe that this facility offers everything possible in human comforts that is available in a senior nursing home. They offer individual, private rooms with a fllatscreen TV and half doors for residents privacy!! They also offer a beautifully appointed resident gathering room with many comfy chairs and a couch along with a big screen TV which is ajacent to the open floor plan dining room . The dining room is large and open and well lit.. It is right next to the private kitchen so that it affords the residents actual conversational opportunities with the kitchen staff !! The main kitchen also prints out menus for three months at a time and allows each resident to choose his/hers meals.. The floor kitchen is also well supplied with ice, yogurt, ice cream, and an assortment of beverages and crackers and these are open to the residents upon request .. The residents who have been approved by the nursing staff are also allowed to eat in their rooms with individual room trays being provided to those residents .. Also for residents, staff and family members is a large and well appointed cafe which has a large menu which changes daily!! There is a nursing station with a large window overlooking the dining room which allows the nursing staff to view the residents and to be available in a moments notice in case of emergencies .. This facility also offers free laundry services with a washing machine and dryer on each floor with aides in the laundry area to do the resident's laundry but is also available to the individual residents or their families .. There is also a large cleaning crew to keep the facility clean and in working shape as well as a maintenance crew to keep things in working order !! An experienced security crew is on site 24/7 and only a phone call away !! The facility also provides a large entertainment area on the first floor with a big screen TV and comfy chairs and couches and a gas fireplace (one is also on each of the floors in the entertainment area and opens up to a nice patio area so that residents and staff and family members can enjoy the outdoors, weather providing and Also has an outdoor area on the back of the facility which has a picnic table on a nice grassy area!! Well I've given the most extensive report on this facility except I forgot to mention that there is also available a Physical Therapy unit !! This concludes my information on this facility and may I just say that I would highly recommend it to any person who is in need of a full service nursing home and resident physical therapy patient unit.. "St. Francis Home of Williamsville was pretty good with OK cleanliness. Their food wasn’t the greatest, but it was OK. The staff was friendly and attentive. "

"Elderwood at Wedgewood is my choice for my aunt because it is right in my area and they were able to find a bed for her immediately. It is a very nice and pleasant place. It is immaculately clean. The semi-private room is very large. The dining room is also large and nice and my aunt is not complaining about the food. In fact she gained some weight. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. They encourage her to go out and do things rather than sitting in the room and be depressed about it. They have activities like bingo several times a week. They set up a bowling rack. They have memory classes. They have card games. They also have barbeque and there is a large common area where they watch TV. They have hairdressers and dentist so no one has to go out unless it is for hospitalization. "

"I toured Elderwood at Lancaster. I found the place to be more updated than the other facility. It was very clean, very nicely laid out, and very welcoming. The staff who accommodated me was very friendly. The rooms were somewhat updated. I saw shared rooms, but I don't recall if I saw single rooms. It's more of like an institutional nursing home type of setup, but it's rehab. They mentioned that they have activities. It was our first choice; we just didn't get a bed there for rehab. They didn't have any openings."

"At the Sheridan Manor the staff is very friendly. They handle the elderly with care and love. They do many fun activities with them, such as arts and crafts and casino night. They have great flexible visiting hours. The patients are aloud to leave with their families without any problems. Overall I believe it is one of the best facilities in the area. I have heard many complaints from other places, but none from the Sheridan Manor. My grandfather really seems to enjoy it there. Every time i visit him he always has a great story about his stay. He has made friends with other residents and the great staff. I would definitely recommend The Sheridan Manor to anybody in the Buffalo area. "

"My mother has been living in the Care Unit at Harris Hill since September, 2010. The care in this facility is tremendous. It is a secured unit of approximately 52 people. There is plenty of nursing staff, aides, recreation staff and a social worker on daily. If my mother or I have concerns, it is always taken care of in a timely fashion. The staff is always pleasant and caring towards my mother and I . There are lots of social events for the residents and families. The actual facility is always clean and cheerful. I am very pleased with our choice for Mom's difficult care decision. "
