My mother was a resident at Seneca for over 5 years before she passed away at age 97.. Over that time I got to know many of the staff members quite well and they were all caring and friendly, and dedicated to making life better for all the residents there. I cannot say enough good things about this facility and the loving staff that work there.

My loved one was in rehab for one week at Seneca Health Care Center about a month ago. - Due to incontinence issues he required assistance changing several times a night. He was forced to wait so long in his wet undergarments that he was forced to go to the bathroom on his own. He was very weak, and we specifically thought rehab was the right choice so he would have ASSISTANCE and be SAFE overnight, but clearly this was not happening. - He was never offered a shower or even a sponge bath. With all his incontinence issues he had to request a towel from 2 different nurses so he could clean himself. - It was nearly impossible to have any sort of conversation with anyone concerning his overall care. At one point I finally got to have a 15-minute conversation with Courtney. She was obviously doing other things while on the call and was not focused on our conversation whatsoever. How could she possibly answer questions about our specific case without looking at his records? - As he was being released, both Nicole and Courtney were in the room with us. Nicole said that he “had” to have a urine test before he left the facility and then left the room. Courtney followed up by saying that there was no urine test needed because they already had a urine sample from the “hat” in the toilet. Throughout his stay, my loved one never urinated into the toilet as he leaks constantly and wears undergarments 24/7. We are quite sure they used his roommate’s urine sample, but they both left so quickly we didn’t even get a chance to correct them! - The discharge meeting was chaotic. The Social Worker said we were to meet with “everyone” who cared for my loved one during his stay: Doctor, Dietician, PT, and Nurse(s) in Charge. The Doctor and Nurse(s) never came to the meeting and we were told that he couldn’t be released without their consent. The Social Worker left us with no indication as to what was happening, so we had to take it upon ourselves to track down the Nurse (Nicole) who said he was cleared to leave. - Upon discharge we were given a huge bag with leftover meds from his stay. Included in that bag were meds that he NO LONGER TAKES. Was he receiving those meds the entire time he was there? We’ll never know because there is literally NO ONE who can confirm anything. It is obvious that your nursing staff is understaffed and overwhelmed. Some nurses (including Jessica) were especially kind and helpful, even bringing him balloons for his birthday. Others were clearly annoyed and disrespectful at any request. Your PT staff was excellent. In a nutshell, we look back at this experience and ask ourselves, “What was the point of sending him to rehab?” We had hoped he might receive the care needed get stronger so as to be able to take care of himself more when he came home. Clearly there was very little support for him during his stay, and this was a lesson for us to avoid McGuire Group facilities in the future. We expected health CARE, and what was received was an overwhelming, frustrating and upsetting experience for my entire family. Although I’m pretty sure no one will read this, I hope that you do. And, I hope you or your loved ones never have to experience this.

This was my first time visiting this facility. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. The interior was clean, and smelled of cleaning products! The exterior certainly did not compare to the care taken inside.

Do not, repeat do NOT send anyone you care about to this xxxxx excuse for a sub-acute rehabilitation facility. It stinks from the top-down. As is usually the case, the CNAs work the hardest and are the worst-paid employees. I've had a couple decent nurses here, and the higher up you go, the poorer the attitude. OTOH, the food isn't bad and the place doesn't smell like pee.

My sister is here This place is filthy! There has been a cookie under the her bed for four months! I keep taking pictures of it with dates on them! I haven’t picked it up myself just to prove a point. Staff is lazy, most days they don’t even get her dressed They don’t take care of her nails her teeth or her feet They bring in her tray while she is lying down and don’t sit her up to eat! There is never a pillow case on her plastic pillow She had the same nightgown on for days on end. This place should be shut down!

Please do not send your loved one here. The nurses are lazy and disrespectful. Not only was my mom covered in her own filth, but it has happened in numerous occasions and nothing has improved. For a place that charges and gouges people for as much as they do, they could at least give the people they serve some dignity and respect.

Dad was at Seneca Health Care Center and I would highly suggest not to bring anybody there. It's dirty. I know there's always good people working in places, but the staff there was just marginal at best. They had too many residents for each staff member. They had like a 13 to 1 ratio, which I thought was ridiculous. They had meals that were pre-made. They would just serve them on a tray and leave. The room was very cluttered and very small. They had to have a shared room with somebody else. You paid $5,000 a month more, which I thought was outrageously costly. The activities were marginal at best, too. The hallways were extremely cluttered, and in an emergency, you wouldn't be able to leave in a timely manner.

Majority of staff were caring and dedicated to patients, but their efforts are controlled by the doctor's orders. Our mother's doctor had her overmedicated for 5 weeks, to the point where she continuously fell asleep during her therapy. We were not allowed to meet with the doctor to discuss our concerns. As a result the Insurance company stopped covering her rehab. After being moved to long-term care, the doctor allowed our mother to sit in her bed/room and deteriorate for an additional 6 weeks. No plan to improve her quality of life. She left Seneca Manor weaker than when she entered, 20 pound weight loss, bed sores, and shingles due to the stress she went through. No support or help from administration. Their job is to keep the beds filled and bring in the money. No care or concern for the patients.

Staff is wonderful, caring and helpful. There has been a change in the past couple weeks, dog is no longer there, the beautiful fish tanks have been removed and there is a bad smell through out the facility. Hopefully these are temporary issues.

Horrible staffing. This can't be safe for the patients. My grammas roommate didn't even get her dinner. I told them and she got it an hour later.

My wife was there because she had a fall and home and was afraid to walk. the staff was terrific in getting her out of bed and walking. before too long she was confident enough to come home. they even helped make arrangements to have people come in to help when she was home. They were a blessing.

My mother has lived at Seneca Health Care Center for a little over 2 years. They are a pretty decent home. My only gripe is that they can be understaffed at times. During the day, there may be 40 employee vehicles parked in the lot, in the evening if there are 4 or 5, that is as lot. I know that some aides take a bus to work, but upon entering the building, you can see they are short staffed. I am able to visit quite regularly, so I can "keep an eye" on my mom.
