"Peregrine's Landing was way out of our price range, but it was a very nice, very charming place, very lovely. They had suites, and they had studio apartments, which weren't at all what we wanted. I would have loved to have Mom there, but it wouldn't have worked. She was already in her own apartment but afraid to be alone, and I think that she needed more of a smaller area. They were very diverse. They had a very active coordinator. They had cocktail hours, pumpkin patches. They would take them on day trips everywhere. They would sign up for all different things. The staff was very nice, very accommodating. "

"Father is now at Peregrine's Landing. I like this community. He has Alzheimer's, so it is a memory care unit. It is a smaller facility, which I thought was great, and it is only 5 minutes from my home. The place is clean and efficient. His room is spacious. He has a single bed and three chairs. We set it up with all of his personal belongings, and they all sit well. He likes his room. He has a bathroom facility within the room; however, there is no shower. The staff is excellent. They are very good and very attentive. They make sure that they help him if he needs it. Food is also excellent. My father likes the food. They give him two choices for every meal, and they are enough. They log what he eats so that I can see the notes about his progress. I would recommend this community to anyone. "

"When we placed my mom at Elderwood in Wheatfield it was one of the best facilities for dementia. Sadly, it has declined terribly. It is extremely understaffed. My mom’s dementia unit with 20 patients frequently has only one aide and sometimes that aide also has the 20 additional dementia patients on the other side. Some of the aides hide in the utility room and aren’t on the floor for extended periods of time. I have spent thousands of dollars on clothes for mom as they keep “disappearing.” Currently she is missing 5 pairs of jog pants. I put in for reimbursement of 3 hoodies last March. I am still wsiting for reimbursement 7 months later. It is impossible to reach anyone at corporate office. I and my 4 daughters are checking on mom 5 days per week. So sad and frustrating."

"My father moved into Wheatfield Commons. The place is gorgeous. The personnel are very friendly and helpful. I have no complaints. The food is a hit-and-miss according to my father. Sometimes it's good, and sometimes it's not so good. They have daily activities of all sorts, either painting or bingo. They take them on little trips out to restaurants. The care that they give my father is wonderful. They come in, do the laundry, and clean his room. He's got a little GPS monitor, so they know where he is all the time. His safety is a big concern, so they're very good with that. Before breakfast, lunch, or dinner, they come by the room and tell him that breakfast is ready. If the resident could not get down to the dining room, they would bring it to the room. They ask you how often you'd like to be checked on, like if it's every 1, 2, or 3 hours. So they're always keeping an eye on where you're at and whether you're safe. It's a very nice facility with very caring staff. They respond quickly to any issues or questions you have. I have never had to call twice to get a report on how my father was doing. I was very, very fortunate to find this facility."

"We have already placed my mother into Heathwood Assisted Living & Memory Care at Williamsville. We chose them because they had a placement for her, it was a very convenient location for my brother and me, and it became highly recommended. She is in assisted living. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. The facility is kept clean. It is very bright and easy for people to move around. My mother says the food is okay. They have a large variety of activities to interest the residents in participating."

"We chose Park Creek because it had more spiritual value for Mom. It offered her communion and the Holy Mass, which is very important to her. It's a smaller community, so it seemed to be the right fit for her. The staff is lovely; they're very attentive. She has a bedroom. She and another woman share a bathroom, and she seems very, very happy. Yesterday, they had chicken, stuffing, and vegetables and they said it was delicious. They get soup every lunch, and they have choices from the menu as to sandwiches and the warm meal. Breakfast is usually omelets or French toast or oatmeal. They have a very nice menu. They have sittercise almost everyday. They have Wii bowling and Wii games that they play. They have different activities for them as far as game types. The religious part of it is every single day at 11 o'clock, that's for one hour, and then they have their social hours. They have ice cream socials. They have people come in to play music for them. She seems to really like it there. She's socializing with people her age. Today, they were down in the activities room making puzzles. An Eastern Hills Mall is near there. There are a lot of nice restaurants in the plazas. There are large supermarkets right there, should she choose to get in the car and go, if she wanted some snacks or something for her bedroom. There are a lot of other senior living facilities around there, too. "

"Our Mom lived at Bristol Village for over 5 years befor she died of cancer. She started living on the assisted living side, then ended her stay in the "Memory" section because of her alzeihmers's disease. We feel so "eternally grateful" to all the staff and administration at Bristol Village, in Clarence Center. They not only cared for our mother, but also made "Our Mom, their Mom."....That is a rareity these days. They made sure she was cared for in "every" way....living with "dignity" and "love" at all times. She was always kept clean personally and her apartment was always "spotless" and smelling "fresh." Her dinning choices were always tastety..(as we joined her often.) She was always involved in many functions while living there. ( This kept her mind as "sharp" as can be.) We never worried about Mom being mistreated or ignored. Even Mom admitted she liked living there. If anyone is looking for an assisted living center with a memory care unit as a second step (if needed), this is the place. I would like to take this moment to "Thank the Lord" for his direction to this place. "

"We toured Fredonia Place of Williamsville. They have a nice facility, although it is a little bit larger, so their activities room is bigger. The chapel here was bigger, and here they have a deacon that's onsite that does masses and stuff like that, so that was a viable option for people who have a religious background. One nice thing is that every section has a nurse's station. They put it behind the wall, so that way, as you're walking around, you don't see that. It feels more like an apartment area as opposed to a health facility. They have a really large kitchen that can be reserved for family use. They stock everything that you would need to use it with, like pots, pans, dishes, utensils and spices, and stuff like that. All you have to do is bring in your food if you're going to cook a meal for the resident that's living there. The person that we were working with was not very responsive. His name was Michael. Even when we had the tour scheduled for my mother-in-law, he didn't even show up and someone else had to do the tour for us. That just made us a little leery about it. If he's not responding and then doesn't show up for the tour, what's going on in this place is not well managed. That just didn't give us a very comfortable feeling. The building is two stories and they only have availability on the bottom floor, which means my mother-in-law would have to take an elevator to get to all the activities and the eating area. We knew she wouldn't be comfortable with that because she has mobility issues. "

"My Mom was a resident her for a month in assisted living. She loved it. The staff was great and very responsive to her needs. It is a beautiful place. Looks like a hotel. There were outings twice a week and lots of activities. They took her to her doctor's appointments. She got her nails done. Great food."

"Mary Agnes Manor is what I was looking for. It is centrally located and easy for me to get to here and the city. They have a private room and do not have to share a bathroom. There are plenty of activities and little stores where my mother can go and purchase things she needs. They have a dining room and a breakfast area, and a choice to eat either breakfast or dinner. They also have a solarium with a view of the lake. It was very nice. They had everything that I was looking for. They take them to their doctors’ appointments. Everyone that I met was friendly and helpful. "

"My mom moved to Brothers Of Mercy Sacred Heart Home. It's really been very positive. They're very caring. They get all three meals and snacks. They always have snacks available. The facility, it's single-level. It has wide halls, no obstructions, and her doors are all wide. She's got a sliding door in her bathroom. It's just really nice. It's newer. They have bingo. They had a custom party for Halloween. They went trick or treating. They do manicures. They do have happy hour and they usually have snacks and drinks. They have games. They have name-that-tune kind of games and things like that. They always have puzzles going and coloring. They do have a lot of what's going on. I think it's well worth the money."

"My husband is in Glenwell. It is very good. The staff is courteous, helpful, and very accommodating. He has a physical therapist who comes in. They have bingo, card games, coloring, and a snack room. They can do a little better on keeping them occupied. They're repainting and cleaning the dining room and the hallways. They take very good care of their facility. He's in the memory unit. They mostly stick to themselves and everybody's quiet. He has privacy even though he's with someone else. I was very happy to put him in there. They keep the areas clean and they have people who will entertain them. There are rooms where they can watch television, so they don't have to be in their rooms all the time. They have a doctor on-call. It was the best place for him for the money I had."

"I toured the GreenField Continuing Care Community. It's right around the corner from where I live. They know what they're doing. They also start out with over 55 and then assisted living, nursing home, and memory care. They have everything there in one facility. They had a room that they showed us. It was very nice and very clean. I basically just talked to the director, very friendly, and the place was very clean. GreenField has established itself, and they're really a one-stop shopping area."
