I toured Elderwood at Lancaster. I found the place to be more updated than the other facility. It was very clean, very nicely laid out, and very welcoming. The staff who accommodated me was very friendly. The rooms were somewhat updated. I saw shared rooms, but I don't recall if I saw single rooms. It's more of like an institutional nursing home type of setup, but it's rehab. They mentioned that they have activities. It was our first choice; we just didn't get a bed there for rehab. They didn't have any openings.

My mom was in rehab for 28 days at Elderwood Health Care at Linwood. The care was very good, and she did very well. She came out so much better and with more strength. The quality of her nutrition improved, too, so that was a big thing. She got proper food and nourishment. There were three meals a day there, so she didn't have to cook. The staff was wonderful with her. They all took care of her very well. It was more of a community. There were private rooms and rooms with two beds in them. It was a good facility.

My mother-in-law is at Elder Wood Health Care. They have wonderful staff, and they are absolutely marvelous. They were just very attentive and concerned for her health and welfare. I was quite impressed. They have kept us informed and I can't complain. They try to keep the residents occupied and they have different things going on.

Great staff, and that's one of the most important factors in rating a nursing home.
