"At Fox Run at Oak Park you can go into assisted living. We visited the independent living section, but we know that they also have assisted living at the same complex. The staff members were very nice, caring, understanding, and easy to talk to. We are there, and it was wonderful. Overall, if you can afford it, that's the place to go."

"My brother is staying in Highpointe On Michigan for long-term care. The people who work there are magnificent. They are friendly and caring. I'm so impressed with these people because I know they have stressful jobs, but they always have a smile on their faces, and they answer your questions. If they don't know the answers, they get the answers. They are just wonderful. I did not try the food, but my brother hasn't complained, so that says something. The facility is clean, my brother is clean, and the rooms are kept clean. They care about their patients. They have bingo and giant checkers. They can keep them busy all day long every day. The size of the rooms is medium. He can't walk, so it doesn't matter."

"My mother is in Absolut at Orchard Park. She is very low income, and they're the only ones that would accept her. She's on Medicaid, and they actually were willing to completely work with Medicaid. Getting information for when and how she moved in was a little bit difficult and with all the Covid restrictions. Everything had to be handed off to people. There were a couple of days where she was kind of without help; she wasn't set up, and it took more than 24 hours for her medication to get to her. I know that a lot of that was just the transition, but there wasn't a lot of communication with the family. My mom had to tell my sister and I, and then we had to reach out to the facility coordinator. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with Covid. The staff was incredibly responsive and once we reached out about anything, they tried to fix it. Mom wasn't happy to begin with, and she didn't understand how to navigate the food to begin with. She then figured out that if there's something she didn't like, she could ask for something else. She probably asks for something else a couple of times a week. They have activities, and I'm very impressed about it. They seem to do something every day. It's actually getting her out of her room and going down. Those are things she enjoys doing. She kind of sits in her room unless there's something really interesting. I think they do a lot to make the people get out of their room. I haven't seen the place. I have not gone physically, but my mom said it's definitely a little bit more rundown. Considering she is somebody who doesn't have much of an income, she shouldn't expect too much; pretty much Social Security paid for it. She has no income other than that."

"I went to the skilled nursing and also the patio homes at Elderwood Assisted Living at Cheektowaga. The nursing facility was very clean. The staff was very nice. My cousin was in there. They were very pleasant, very warm, and bright. They had an area like a library where she could put headphones on and have a book read to her through a tape because she was blind. They had a large variety of different books that could be read to her. Her room was a good-sized, comfortable double. It had a single bed with a stand and a television set, a telephone, a good-sized closet, a bathroom, and a bulletin board. There was plenty of room for her wheelchair, and she had two chairs for visitors. The staff was very nice and very pleasant. I never saw anybody get angry. They had quite a variety of food. She enjoyed everything that she ate there. It was very welcoming and very clean."

"The staff in Elderwood at Hamburg is doing their job. The food is good, and they have decent amenities and nice grounds. My father's room is pretty austere but, it's fine. They have activities for the residents, although he doesn't participate in them yet. It's awfully expensive, but he has improved dramatically. They're doing a good job."

"Hawthorn Health Multicare Center is phenomenal! Everybody there are nice and polite. And I just talked to their physical therapist, they are always positive about everything! Pushing always their patients for the better. And they don’t let their patients dine in their own room. They encourage their residents to dine in the hall to socialize, get to know other and interact. And that is something my grand-dad needs. Very nice place and very nice people! "

"My mother was discharged from Father Baker Manor earlier this month after recovering from hip surgery. All of the staff were very friendly and the therapist did a fantastic job getting my mom to walk again after the surgery. The building was very clean and the food was good. I would definitely recommend this facility!!!!! "

"My mom was in rehab for 28 days at Elderwood Health Care at Linwood. The care was very good, and she did very well. She came out so much better and with more strength. The quality of her nutrition improved, too, so that was a big thing. She got proper food and nourishment. There were three meals a day there, so she didn't have to cook. The staff was wonderful with her. They all took care of her very well. It was more of a community. There were private rooms and rooms with two beds in them. It was a good facility. "
