Assisted Living Communities in Dillsburg, PA

"The Terraces at Capitol Village was a beautiful community, and the staff was all very friendly. They had just remodeled, so it's very clean. It doesn't smell either. The dining area was nice. They have different places where you can go to eat. They have birds in cages. We had two residents tell us they had just gotten done with bingo."

"Autumn House West was a little closer to town. It was nice and the staff were very helpful and very friendly. They have various types of rooms, depending on what you're looking for, and the residents seemed happy. They have a beauty salon, a community room with games and a TV, and a separate kitchen area for the residents to use."

"I moved into Autumn House East. I chose it because it has an available single-living apartment. The staff members are very easy to get along with, caring, kind, and helpful. They have a coffee get-together every morning. They have bingo a couple of times a week. They'll go on short bus tours. The lady who runs the activity is excellent. I'm in my own apartment. It's accessible, easy to get around, and large enough for me. I'm getting what I pay for."

"I like it because it was clean, very friendly, and small. The rooms were clean and fresh. They all have windows with decent views. It is very nicely appointed, and she can also bring her own furniture if she chooses to. They have different activities going on everyday. They have a large dining room for the residents, but they also have a small dining room if you want to celebrate small parties. We were able to talk to the chef, and he was wonderful. "

"We went with Senior Commons at Powder Mill. My mom is in their assisted living. We were kind of desperate. We really liked it, so that's what we did; we made a choice. The staff have been amazingly wonderful, kind, and encouraging. They have made us feel comfortable with our mom being there. They have bingo, trivia, and entertainment on the weekends. They have the rosary, and they have church. They have something almost every hour."

"I loved Amoroso Wellness at York. If I was in a situation where I could go in there, I would love to. The people were wonderful. All the residents I saw seemed happy. The place itself was immaculate. They took me to a one-bedroom unit to look at it and it was way more than I ever expected. It was beautiful. It had a balcony and the whole place was just nice, comfortable, and inviting. The lady that took me around took me into their cafeteria and it was also beautiful, better than some restaurants I've been in. It was just wonderful. I can't say enough good things about that place. Everybody that was in the dining room, eating, seemed happy and they have waiters that come by and bring in their food. They have menus that they choose from every day. The grounds were nice, too. They had music playing when you first walked through the doors. It was like the oldies station and it was just a pleasure to be there. I wish I could have stayed there, but I didn't qualify."

"We toured Harmony at Hershey. It was a great facility. They had three different sizes of rooms that you could choose from. They showed us the food menu, but we did not have a meal. They had activities every day. They had a card room, a pool table, a movie room, a reading room, and a room for arts and crafts. They had a bar but they only served coffee and stuff. They offered the travel to the doctor services, they explained how it's within a certain amount of miles, and if it's over those miles, they get charged. They explained nursing care. There were pull cords in the rooms, near the bathrooms, and throughout the apartment. If you run into an emergency, you pull the cord, or they have wristbands that they can wear. Keith, the man who took us on the tour, was fantastic at explaining everything to us. He was really good and very helpful."

"I visited Paramount Senior Living at Lancaster County. I like that it was clean, single floor, and everyone was friendly. They have very nice-sized rooms. The staff was nice and friendly, answered all my questions, and engaged with the residents. The dining area was large, open, and clean. They had access to the courtyard and it was nice, shaded, and had benches."

"Traditions of Hershey was a beautiful building. We looked at the one-bedroom and it was a nice size and laid out very nicely. We liked it. The staff was very nice, too. You could tell that they were used to working with older people. They listen to you, are very polite, and understand what older people need and like. The only thing was, the cost was more than what we could do, but otherwise, it was such a nice place."

"Victorian Villa was an excellent facility. It was about an hour from my home. It seemed professional but yet home like. The people were extremely friendly. I could sense a secure atmosphere, and I would recommend anyone to visit if they were looking for a personal care home as opposed to a larger facility. The rooms were spacious. The facilities were excellent and well maintained. They had an elevator for residents who needed walkers or scooters. They had exceptional cognitive activities which I really liked. "

"Everyone at The Village of Laurel Run has been great. They seemed to provide good service, and he likes everyone there. They are friendly, helpful, and attentive. The cleanliness to me looks good, and he is OK with the food. It’s a little better than average. "

"My mother-in-law is a resident of Juniper Village at Mount Joy. The night nurse is amazing in the memory care unit. We like that it's local. They are a very small community, so we don't have the worry of viruses, and they can be open more. Their one-on-one time with their patients and the atmosphere is very, very nice. They are very caring and understanding, like a family. During the day some of the staff doesn't administer medications like they're supposed to, but everything else is about the place is phenomenal and it's not a typical medication that's necessary to certain appointments and stuff. They have painting, baking, cooking, music, exercise, dogs come in, and pets. The things that my mother-in-law likes, they provide. We haven't been able to eat there since COVID hit. I don't think there's a place you can yet, in a nursing home, if you don't live there. The value for money is good. I think every place like this is a complete ripoff. To be quite honest, I think this whole government insurance and everything is a joke. I don't even want to go there with a review on that, it's not fair to them and other places, it's just so much better. We're paying three times the price of our house, but we didn't have a choice. They're doing the best they can with their laws and within their small community. So, it is a very good price for the number of people they have there. They haven't done anything to harm her, the only thing they do is look out for her. So, a much better quality of a nursing home facility than we've seen, and we had her at prior."
