"The tour I had at Autumn House East was great. The place was nice and very homey. They just didn't have any availability at the time, but everyone seemed very nice and helpful. The residents seemed happy. Everything was clean and very acceptable to me. It just met my standards. The gentleman who took me around was very friendly. This is my first time being involved in tis stuff and he was very helpful and very understanding to the questions I asked. We went by a room where there were lots of residents playing cards and playing games. There was also an exercise class going on. So, it seemed like they had a lot of of stuff available."

"I was very impressed with the very clean facility and the bright and uplifting decor. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The staff was patient and kind. I could tell they like their jobs. The facility was well organized as the residents understood their recreational activities and schedule. Residents seemed to be happy interacting with each other. When I asked a resident their opinion of Country Meadows they explained it was much better than some of the places their peers attend and they are respected by the staff. Another resident told me the staff make a deliberate effort to understand the needs and wants of the residents. The staff appeared helpful to the residents and were quick to answer residents requests for service. Residents also appeared to be clean and well-kept. The outside of the building was beautiful and the greens were well tended. The building itself was painted nicely. I felt welcomed as a volunteer and would return to Country Meadows. "

"I can honestly see my uncle living at Bethany Manor. The location is great and I did not mind facility as a whole. My uncle will not only be comfortable but I will too when I come to visit. The staff that I briefly encountered while I was there was extremely friendly and well groomed. I loved the fact that there is a game room available to him as well. He has always been a social butterfly and this allows him to intermingle with the staff and other residents. The outdoor area is a nice escape for him as well. We are interested in the one bedroom and it is such a relief to know that there is a private bath for my uncle. Hi privacy is extremely important to my family. In an attempt to make this experience as much like home as possible we feel that Bethany Manor is first in the running from our choices thus far! "

"The Keller House is under new ownership and improvements are being made daily (even though I didn't think it was bad before). Rooms being painted and new carpeting going in. Meals are good (according to the resident I am the POA for) and the new owners are constantly working on improving the facility. New breakfast, lunch and dinner times, allowing me more time for doctor's appointments in the morning. Residents continue to enjoy board games, some physical activities if they are interested, etc. I love the HOME feel of the building, unlike the large, much more expensive senior living facilities in the area. It's not a large facility and the residents seem to like that. I know I did when I visited in 2016 when looking for a less expensive facility for the elderly lady I look after. Even back then, before all the improvements, it still had a nice, friendly feel to it and the owner was easy to talk to and work with. Not for everyone, I know, but if you're looking for a place in a small town, close to everything and not super expensive, at least call, set up an appointment and give them some consideration. Wish I had moved my friend there sooner. She's happier than she was in a larger, more expensive facility. "

"I visited friends in Messiah Lifeways independent living and my brother-in-law was also there for rehab. He got excellent care, they have excellent food and we have no complaints. I felt that it was very pleasant, the room he had looked out on a nice scenery when I looked outside. I ate in the cafeteria with him, which was very, very nice. He was happy with his food. I have eaten there but was presented by the people who were hosting us. It was expensive but it's also where I want to be, the location is drawing me. They have restaurants, my friend wants us to come over and eat in one of the cafeterias, and they have a pool."

"It was very nice. The people who lived there seemed very pleased. They had separate houses, which were spacious. They had a very nice social creation area. They had an outdoor pool and different rooms where different activities took place. They had an activity director and they had different games. "

"We toured The Woods at Cedar Run for Dad and the community was fine. It was clean and everybody seemed very friendly. I think the facilities were fine and everything looked fine. The only thing that I didn't care about it is there are a lot of ancillary charges that are not included with four other homes that I visited the previous day. It just seemed like everything was an ancillary charge as opposed to kind of an all-inclusive type thing. The rooms were fine, spacious enough, with plenty of amenities. They were more than adequate for what I was looking for. It seemed to be fairly quiet, and everything seemed to be up to snuff. I didn't see anything wrong. They were in the process of remodeling, I want to say, a weight room. It was done and they were still waiting for equipment, but everything seemed to be up to par. I did not see anything out of the ordinary that would give me concern as far as placing my father there. The staff were very accommodating, and they answered all our questions. They seemed to be very knowledgeable of the services they offered. The dining area was great. We didn't actually taste any of the food. I was there over the beginning of the lunch time, and everybody seemed to be anxious to get there and eat their food. We were told about activities they had, and it seemed up to par with everyone else. The staff member who gave me the tour was great."

"My visit at Silver Springs Courtyards was very nice and the staff was very knowledgeable. They had these little cottages that were 1-bedroom apartments. The parking was OK, but you had to walk pretty far to get to your cottage. They had a washer and laundry area, and they also had a community room. It was a very nice community. The apartments were very tiny and didn't have a dishwasher. You're lucky if you can fit a very small table in the kitchen. The living room and bedroom were also very small, including the closet space. The staff member that gave me the tour did a good job."

"My wife and I have been looking at assisted living communities and there are many to look at. I must say our visit to Ecumenical was very positive. The vacility is very clean.The rooms were very nice and the entire campus gives you a private resort atmosphere. We were invited to have lunch on our visit and I must commend the hospitality and quality of the menu and the dining area. We plan to visit again in the near future as Ecumenical is high on our list of assisted living communities. R.Mahan "

"Kindred Place at Harrisburg was very nice. The people were wonderful. The rooms were just too small for my furniture. I'm a United Church of Christ, so that was the reason I wanted to go there."

"It has been very good so far. Mom is sharing a room and she is in the nursing care. The food is decent. The staff is very good overall. Maybe they can improve on their communication with the family members of their residents."

"I liked the Middletown Home. They had a nice, beautiful outdoor courtyard that they just built. They have a beautiful chapel and they have a beautiful dining room. It's just a lot more beautiful than the facility my husband is at right now. They had skilled nursing but they didn't have a locked-down facility so we had to look somewhere else. My husband was there for rehab and I thought it was a really nice place, but I thought they were a little shorthanded. The food is better there though and they had more activities and parties. They had a lot for the residents to do. They had a salon, a workout room, and an outdoor place. My husband was there but they didn't have a locked-down facility and he was able to escape so we had to leave and place him somewhere else. It was very clean though and it was only 25 minutes away from me. "

"We visited the Country Meadows of Hershey. It was a very lovely facility with a lot of amenities. They have art and painting, they have a library and they do exercises. They gave us a wrap sandwich as a sample of their food, and it was a very nice sandwich. I don't think that the people were eating wrap sandwiches that day, it was just their attempt to let us taste their food. The staff members were very pleasant and very helpful, any question that you asked, they would go out of their way to attempt to answer it. The thing that I like the least about them is the price because it's one of the more expensive facilities. The thing that I like the best was the physical aspect of the facility. I liked the building the best."
