I liked The Woods at Cedar Run a lot. The thing I like the most would be the size of the facility and it's very private. It's secluded in a wooded area and it's not large. I liked the size of the place. They don't have a lot of extras that people our age don't need. The food was very good. They gave me some lasagna. It was wonderful. I just didn't like it that if you get very old and very ill, your family's got to step in and move you someplace else. The dining room was nice and people were eating. They were very friendly. The lady that toured with me was very good, very friendly, and knowledgeable.

Most people do not know the difference between facilities and what questions are important to ask. This facility was very good at educating me about that and I appreciated it. I did not know that all of them do not take you in for your care from independant living to end of life. The only thing they do not offer is Skilled Nursing which most places do not offer due to the potentially high costs. You need to ask if the facility you are considering is a Medicaid Facility and the financial implications and requiements involved. That's very important. They introduce you to a mentor when you first move in. That is usually someone who has been there a while and will dine with you and introduce you to other residents until you feel comfortable and at home. PRICELESS

I will be moving into the Woods at Cedar Run. It is a wonderful facility. The facility is well kept. The plants, trees, flowers, everything on the outside is just as beautiful as the inside. Everybody needs to know that it's an incredible organization. They know what they're doing and they take very good care of their customers. The staff is upbeat, friendly, informative, and they answer all your questions. They solve any problems or issues you have. They are wonderful. They have music, with charcuterie boards and wines. The food is delicious. The apartment that I'm moving into is beautiful and good enough for me.

My father moved into The Woods at Cedar Run. We chose it because it is located close to my house, the price was right, and the community was right. He has a 1-bedroom apartment and it's nice. They have a couple of activities every day. He's in the Bible club and the chess club. He plays bingo, and they have movies. It's an older facility, but it's nice. What's nice is they have a cleaning person that comes in once a week to vacuum everything and do light housekeeping in my dad's apartment. There were just a few little things like they were a little slow on getting my dad's evening pass to get in the doors from outside after 7 PM. It took him about a week and a half to get that form. Just little things that were kind of upsetting, but they weren't dealbreakers by any means.

My father will be moving into The Woods at Cedar Run. They were all friendly. My brother and I felt that our dad would be comfortable there. He is going to be getting a lot of good care. The staff and the Director of Nursing were very friendly, helpful, and caring; that is why we decided to go there. The food was good. My brother and I had a free meal along with our dad when we toured the place. I had crab cakes, french fries, and vegetables. We were satisfied, and my father enjoyed the meal. The place was very good and very clean. We liked it a lot compared to where my dad is at now.

My father moved into The Woods at Cedar Run. It's wonderful. His unit is a one-bedroom about 700 square feet. It has a full kitchen, a bathroom with granite, a washer and dryer, and a balcony. It's a beautiful facility. They go to the grocery store three times a week. They have plays. They have a movie theater on site. They have a chess club, devotionals twice a week, and bingo twice a week. You name it, they have it all. The food is excellent. They eat dinner in a solarium that overlooks a creek and a walking path. Their common areas have a dual-side fireplace with a library and a computer room. It's nice. The staff there are all very accommodating, very nice, and very pleasant.

The Woods at Cedar Run is fantastic. It is one of the highest-rated ones that I visited. The place is absolutely beautiful. It looks like an apartment building rather than like a facility. They even are very proud of the fact that they do not want to be known as a facility, and that they are known as a community. They never want to hear the 'facility' word. The apartments are fantastic. They have memory care there. Their memory care is smaller. They only have 18 in their memory care, but it's lovely. It looks more like a hotel than it does any type of community. They have activities for their personal care as well as for their memory care. They have a huge calendar of activities. The rooms were beautiful, and they had different sizes. They starte with a studio. They had one-bedrooms or two bedrooms, and some were very large. They also had a cafeteria there if people wanted to get something in between the main meals. They have a salon, a bistro, and a beautiful movie. From what I saw of the staff, they were fantastic. The staff also took me to the memory care side, and everybody seemed very nice. They were doing activities even with the individuals in memory care. I got to talk to some of the staff and they all seemed very, very nice. Something else they told me that I thought was very nice is that they have what's called an ambassador program. So, any resident coming in will be assigned another resident and that resident will make sure that they understand the activities and kind of keep an eye on them and help get them involved. I was very, very impressed with them.

Mom was at The Woods at Cedar Run for almost a year. She was very unhappy there. The quality of their food significantly deteriorated over the time that she was there and this was a fairly expensive facility. Some things were nice though. They had a movie night once a week, they tended to have some sort of a celebration for most holidays so they had outside activities for July 4th and a carnival or something like that. They also had a person who brought in emotional support dogs a couple of times a week and a wine/happy hour once a week.

We visited The Woods at Cedar Run. It was a very nice facility. Everybody was really nice and they answered our questions. We went in, they walked us through. They explained the different departments, we got to the area that we needed for my father, how many people were in that group, and they told us how many meals they would get. They would get snacks in the afternoon. There can either be one individual in the room or two, depending on the type of room that they would like. Each room has a bed and each apartment has its own bathroom. They had a community area where they eat all the meals, and all doors are locked from the inside and the outside. Nobody can come in or nobody can go out. They had different activities that they worked with.

I just loved The Woods at Cedar Run. Everybody was friendly and the woman that gave the tour answered all my questions. I liked that there was so much to do. They had excellent monthly plans for anything that you really could want, and everything was conveniently located for everybody. Dinner would be included and you have a small kitchen in the apartment where you can prepare breakfast or lunch (although you can get breakfast and lunch there as well). They have a big dining room, which was very beautiful. They also have a little bistro where you can get salads and sandwiches. They have a library, a computer room, a chapel, a theater, a beauty parlor, a doctor on staff if you happen to need that, a therapy room, and a lot of stuff. Then there were various clubs for games like cards/bingo, exercise classes, vans that would take you shopping/all different kinds of stores, people that come in to teach classes, various arts and crafts, and entertainment.

I went to The Woods at Cedar Run. We went through all of the levels, but the independent living was the one that we saw the room and got an explanation for. The tour was very good and very thorough. The woman started out bringing us into her office and just gave us a brief description of things and what to look for and what to expect and so on. They toured in a very organized way. They gave us a tour of the whole building and that was very thorough. They showed us where the cafeteria was, where the rooms were, where the physical therapy was, where all of the activities were, and so on. When we finished, we felt like we had a good understanding of the community. We didn't try the food, but we were there around lunchtime, so we saw the different meals that were being served and they looked appetizing. I like the fact that they had two choices at each meal. The facility was very clean and very presentable. The rooms were nice.

The Woods at Cedar Run was very nice. We looked at the memory care. I liked the people, the way it was set up, and the cleanliness of it. They seemed to really care about their senior citizens. It just seemed like they were open to being very helpful. The rooms were nice. The building was nice. I liked the outdoor area where the senior citizens could go out to the garden area. There was a creek nearby that they could go and look at. It seemed like a very nice setup. They have a hair salon, a little bistro, a garden, a little area where the senior citizens can go outside and sit and enjoy the outside, a little chapel area, a movie theater for movie night, and another area where they can entertain, like an organ player comes in to entertain these senior citizens. They have bingo. They have all different kinds of stuff for the senior citizens. The staff was very nice, friendly, and accommodating. The facilities were very good.

We toured The Woods at Cedar Run for Dad and the community was fine. It was clean and everybody seemed very friendly. I think the facilities were fine and everything looked fine. The only thing that I didn't care about it is there are a lot of ancillary charges that are not included with four other homes that I visited the previous day. It just seemed like everything was an ancillary charge as opposed to kind of an all-inclusive type thing. The rooms were fine, spacious enough, with plenty of amenities. They were more than adequate for what I was looking for. It seemed to be fairly quiet, and everything seemed to be up to snuff. I didn't see anything wrong. They were in the process of remodeling, I want to say, a weight room. It was done and they were still waiting for equipment, but everything seemed to be up to par. I did not see anything out of the ordinary that would give me concern as far as placing my father there. The staff were very accommodating, and they answered all our questions. They seemed to be very knowledgeable of the services they offered. The dining area was great. We didn't actually taste any of the food. I was there over the beginning of the lunch time, and everybody seemed to be anxious to get there and eat their food. We were told about activities they had, and it seemed up to par with everyone else. The staff member who gave me the tour was great.

Hello! I haved lived here for over 9 Years. Lived in 3 other facilities prior to finding The Woods. Major issues with all of the others! Here the food is excellent! Prepared by our chef, Ryan. He listens to our suggestions and makes adjustments as needed. The staff are all well trained and friendly. The grounds are quiet, well maintained and private, See ya soon, Tom

We visited The Woods at Cedar Run Independent Living. Their rooms are very small with the one that we toured. The entrance to the bathroom itself was so small I couldn't get my walker through the door. The layout was beautiful. The staff wasn't the person that was supposed to do it; it just seemed like he was out of the element. They have two dining rooms, one for independent living and another for assisted living. The place could be improved, the carpet was very dirty. We saw a TV room, and a huge library. We did not see any activities. They only serve one meal a day. The layout was nice, but the cleanliness needed help. They could get boards on floors or get rid of the carpeting because it was really dirty.

We're in the process of moving my mom to The Woods at Cedar Run. We already have a move-in date for it. A lot of the decision has to do with location. It's a little bit of a smaller assisted living facility and it had a very homey and less clinical atmosphere. I took 2 tours, I went back a second time for a second tour so I could compare it to the other tour. It just had a more home-like atmosphere to it. I'm trying to accommodate my mother and my mother's likes and what she would want so I go in there with an eye on what would make her happy. The staff was very professional, very thorough, and very pleasant. They asked questions about my mother and then helped me to see how this facility would fit her. They introduced me to the physical therapist. It was just very thorough so I left there knowing what my mother would be exposed to and what she had available to her. They've just been very helpful with everything. I've been in contact with them over just even the smallest question. I just send an email and I get a response right away. My mom got an apartment. They had efficiencies too which would just be a bed and a room where you would put a bed and some furniture and a bathroom. They also had one available that has a living room space and then a bedroom and a bathroom. It's small though and she lives in a 3-story home so of course, it's small for her. We're trying to figure out what we can fit in there and that'll make it feel more like home. The girl who toured with me said she had a degree in design and was showing me how furniture could work in another way and she would help us to fit it in. There is no kitchen, but they will provide a small refrigerator like a dorm refrigerator and a microwave. All her meals are included but if she would like to have a cold drink in the evening and a snack, it's there for her. Maintenance is available for any help that you need and everything and that was great. It's a very nice facility, well-kept, and very home-like. The location is gorgeous. There's a big lawn going down into the creek and there are always ducks and geese back there. There are beautiful flower beds for the more independent people. There is a garden that they work on which is a vegetable garden. There are walking paths, I can take her in her wheelchair there. It has about everything that I thought would make her feel even a little bit better about leaving her home. I did not try the food but I looked at the menus and I do know that if there's something she's not interested in trying, they have alternatives, which is nice.

The Woods at Cedar Run was a very nice but much older place than the other two I saw. They have lots of things for you to do. I would have been in the senior living part, but they also had the rest of the assistance if you need it. The people who live there and the staff are friendly with each other. Everybody knows each other's names. The rooms are nice, but they are smaller. Of course, everything is a little older. They had a kitchen with a stove, so you don't have to go for meals. They only provided two meals a day. There's quite a few activities. They have bus trips to different activities, tourist attractions, local stores, and doctors' appointments. They also had a small courtyard.

My parents live at The Woods. They first moved to Independent Living. My parents made the choice to move here knowing that they would need the different levels of care over the rest of their lifetime. The whole team at The Woods has made life enjoyable for them and easy on us as a family. They have walked beside us as life and health changes have taken place. They have been phenomenal to work with, it's like we have become care partners in managing my parents needs. They have helped to assure my Mom remain at Home aka The Woods through her end of life. My dad has thrived with their love and support since.

My mother is at The Woods at Cedar Run, and it’s a very good place. They have different levels of living; one is for independent living, another is for senior health living, and there is a memory care. Their dining facility is gorgeous, and the food is fabulous. They also have activities available from story reading to exercises. They also sponsor field trips for the residents. There’s always something for them to do.

I visited The Woods at Cedar Run for my aunt. They had everything we would have wanted. The lady that walked us around was wonderful, and the staff was really good. They even gave us lunch in their dining room. My aunt would have loved to be there as the place where she could comfortably age. The apartments were very nice at very reasonable prices. They had both indoor and outdoor activities like dance, yoga, crafts, and church services. They had outings to restaurants at least three times a week. They had a bus that took residents wherever they needed to go including a grocery store.

Do not have your loved one move into this facility unless they are able to be totally independent. Senior living residents at the Woods are not cared for. Staffing is a huge problem, management is a revolving door and profit is the bottom line here. It is a lovely building and setting, however.

We visited The Woods at Cedar Run. We really like it, but if you get sick or if you have to go to a nursing home, there is no facility there that they can move you to, and you have to go somewhere else. Other than that, it was very nice. The staff was super nice. They had everything that we like. They had a lot of activities. They’re very friendly. Some of the people we met there were very friendly, but we just want some place where, if down the road we need nursing care or nursing home, we can get it without moving.

We chose The Woods at Cedar Run for my mother because it was very, very close to where I live. It is very clean. They do a very good job. My mother has an apartment, which is really nice. They have one- and two-bedroom apartments. Right now, my mother is in a little one-bedroom apartment and it is really nice. They have both assisted and independent living and even memory care in the same building. The staff is pretty good. They seem pretty caring. The administrative staff doesn't communicate as well with the people's family as they could. I have had issues with them periodically. I just don’t get any real feedback from them. However, I like the aides and the nurses. They're pretty nice. They do have activities and they try to keep things, but with my mom and her memory issues, they don't always come to get her and I think they should be more active in that area. They should make sure the people get to the activities and not just let them sit in their rooms, because people with dementia don't remember what's going on. Also their food is little more normal, like a little more institutional.

My mother is at The Woods at Cedar Run right now, and I'd like to make a comment on this place. The food is awful. I speak with my mother every day, and she tells me how awful the food is. It's not adequate, they run out sometimes, and it seems burnt and rubbery. They get the same salad every single night for supper, and it's always white iceberg lettuce, one baby tomato, and one slice of cucumber, every single night without exception. There is never a change. Dessert is usually a cookie, and sometimes they run out of those. She said everything else is nice. The people are nice. They have nice housecleaning services; however, the food, which is so important to seniors, she said is not nutritious and sometimes not edible. She is in the independent living section and she has her own apartment, and it?s quite adorable. She is very happy with her room.

The marketing group (admissions) low balls your fees and then 6 months in they are jacked up, skipping levels of care. The memory care unit is understaffed. They can't keep a MCU director. They look don't keep good records - changing the primary care physician to their own DR. when I wanted our family DR. This allowed them to medicate my mother when I wanted only palliative care...until I saw the pharmacy bill and stopped it...many times. They could not deal with my parent because they were an "active" patient. Walking almost to the end of life. They can only handle the seniors that sit in wheel chairs all day and don't speak. Hospice could bathe my parent daily but their staff could not because they do not understand how to deal with an active ALZ patient. In fact they requested us to call hospice so it would take some of my mother's care off of their shoulders. Nobody could understand palliative care and once scolded me for not precribing an antibiotic - NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS. And finally, although they treated us well as my parent laid dying (pillows, chairs and food) after the death, after hospice had been called to pronounce death, they still called the ambulance and I had to prevent the EMTs from reviving the deceased. Why did they do this? To protect their own butts...even though we spent the last 24 hours at the bedside awaiting the blessing of death.

My husband used to volunteer at The Woods when he was first diagnosed with Alzheimer's. When he first needed to go some place, he's contacted them but they didnt have a slot. When one became available, we moved him there. I like the location of it. It's near me. It's half a mile from my house and it's also like a long driveway, so there's no road around it. You don't get all the noise from the road so it's a very peaceful and quiet drive. My husband has been treated very nicely there. They're keeping him busy and he's happy. There's a brook that goes down shores that he can walk down and sit next to the brook. It's wonderful! The food was excellent. Absolutely good you'd think you're in a five-star restaurant. They start with soup, then salad, then a full cup and then your entree. That's on a linen table cloth, linen napkins and it's well-decorated. Honestly you would think you were in a hotel. Feels like you're a VIP there! He's really happy there. This is the third place that we tried and this is the first one that he's completely content with.
