Assisted Living Communities in Feasterville Trevose, PA

"We toured Wesley Enhanced Living Upper Moreland. The staff who gave the tour answered all our questions and gave us information. I liked them, and the way they did it was outstanding. The facilities were kept very clean, very open, and lunch was delicious. Also, the personnel who served lunch were very friendly. We saw only a two-bedroom apartment, and it's spacious. We didn't see a one-bedroom, which we are interested in, but the two-bedroom was very nice, with a well-equipped kitchen. Each apartment has a balcony, which is very nice. The cottages are really something. They have a very big garage, even for a big car. You can open the doors both ways. So, we liked it. I am on a gluten-free diet, and I told the server that I had some concerns about the food. He served it nicely and told me it was gluten-free, and I could eat it safely. He paid more attention when I told him. He's a very nice guy."

"I went to Wesley Enhanced Living Pennypack Park. The way they work is you can move into independent living, and then you can stay in that same apartment and do assisted living. We looked at one apartment, but I think it could have become both. You don't have to move out of your apartment until your assisted living gets to an extreme level. I was dazzled. I was disappointed that my father-in-law was not willing to move in that day. I would move in there. It feels very homey while at the same time it's extremely professional. I would describe it as very luxe. They have a beautiful courtyard. Everything is spotless. Any time we walked past a staff member with the tour guide, he knew their name, he introduced us, and they chit-chatted. It all felt very friendly and very genuine. It was great. We were in the dining room, and then they had a separate cafe. There are a few different places to get food. We looked at a couple of different menus, but we didn't try anything."

"We toured Sunrise of Abington. They have very nice people, a nice and friendly staff, and a welcoming environment. The rooms were nice and spacious. The dining area was spacious and elegant. The parking area was nice, with ample parking. The patio was gorgeous."

"My mother is living in the Legacy Gardens of Bristol. She seemed to like it. They have doctors on staff, so she doesn't have to leave the facility to go see a doctor. They need to upgrade their activities for the seniors. Everybody is very friendly. Besides watching TV in the common area, they do have social activities for the seniors. They have a salon and a lady that comes around who does their nails and stuff like that. My mother gets a veteran's benefit, so that will help her out quite a bit."

"I am a resident of The Philadelphia Protestant Home. They have everything you need. The food is good. It's near where I live. The nurses are well-trained. It's just top-notch. It's very clean, and bright, well-lighted, and the elevators worked."

"We just toured the Sunrise of Lower Makefield's assisted living. The place is beautiful and the staff is very friendly. The food was awesome, too. They were kind enough to give my parents lunch to try out. The person who assisted us answered all our questions and did not rush. She spoke to my parents and not just to me. She explained everything and showed us everything, and she took her time. The people serving lunch, after they had taken the orders, would keep coming to ask if they could get you anything and if the food was okay. It was so nice. It's very close to my house so I feel more comfortable, and the place is so friendly. The patients were kind and friendly to my parents, and they didn't even know they were coming. They're all laughing and joking with them. My parents and I tried the food. The food is not prepared and shipped there because they have cooks who cook the food there daily. There are four different cooks, and they cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I had chicken noodle soup and it's homemade, not out of the can. I also had a sandwich and a cup of tea. They even asked if I wanted dessert. They have plenty of juices, coffee, and tea. They even have beer and wine. My father asked if it was just for holidays and the lady there said no. She said that if you wanted to have a glass of wine after your meal, you could have it, and my father did. The apartment is beautiful when you walk in. There were two different types of rooms that we saw. They have three room types, but we only saw the two. It's an L-shaped room and when you walk to your left, there's a huge area where you can have a TV, maybe two recliners, and a table. To the right is a closet and a kitchenette with cabinets and a refrigerator. There's a huge bathroom where you can wheel in and it has all the handrails, benches in the shower, and a heat lamp in the ceiling so they won't be cold. The room has a great big bay window that overlooks a farm area on one side and the main street on the other. It's very pretty, and the landscape is beautiful. I can't wait to see it in the springtime. If one room has two people, they would offer two beds, two dressers, two nightstands, and a table and lamp. It's a very spacious and beautiful room. Even the hallways have artwork all over and how they have decorated it is fabulous. It's a very happy place where everybody's greeting everybody. Even the patients greet the staff. We saw this one lady walking fast with her walker to go to the activity. She was telling the other patients to come so they could get a good seat. They have a bus that takes them out for outings. They can take them to the store or to whatever restaurant in the area. It's a shuttle bus that has a lift so if you're in a wheelchair, you can still go. They said it's there twice a week. They also have a salon for them to get their hair and nails done."

"We got Mom over at the Riverview Estates. She loves their food. It's gorgeous. It's very clean. The maintenance is good. They just had a whole bunch of renovations. It's pristine. The view of the river makes you feel like you're on vacation versus in a senior living home. They have this beautiful atrium with rocking chairs so people can sit and just look at the river. It's a beautiful ambiance. She's very happy there. They have religious services six days a week, which my mother loves, and bingo, which she loves. They bring in a lot of entertainers, like a lot of singers. On Christmas, they brought in a choir. She hung up on me the other day to go play bingo. She's happy that they have the Hallmark Channel in their TV room. They have a giant screen TV with a bunch of chairs and that makes her very happy, even though she has a small TV in her room. They're very attentive to her needs. When she misses a meal, they come up and they try to get her down for meals. If she can't make it down because she's in too much pain, they bring her her meals. Whenever I called the facility during the first couple of weeks when she was getting acclimated, they called me back very quickly. They work to get her needs met. I think the value for the money is great. I wish she would call staff more often, but that has nothing to do with their rating. She has a habit of not wanting to ask for help, but they know to come look for her, which I find important. I'm very happy there."

"My tour at Sunrise of Dresher was useful. It was nice and clean. The staff was wonderful and they gave me a good tour. I think it was cost-effective so I'm on the right track. I wasn't able to try the food but the menu looks good, and I could see that they have good menu options. They had bingo, puzzles, and stuff. It seems like there are a lot of things for them to do and a lot of activities. I looked at both memory care and assisted living."

"We did Brookdale of Florence, but they did not have memory care. They didn't know if my mother would qualify to be in assisted living. She had not had an assessment at that time. We didn't taste the food, but it looked like a nice setup. We got to meet the chef. The rooms were spacious."

"I went to see the assisted living facility of Granville Place in Burlington. It was a nice place, and I liked it. They were very good, from what I saw. The lady who gave me the tour, the nurses who were there, and how they treated the individuals who live there was good. The place is also clean. It was close to my house, only four minutes from where I live, so I liked it."

"My mother moved to The Solana Doylestown and we're pretty happy with it. It's not hospital-like, it's more apartment living but with memory care. Her room has two separate areas, the living room, and the bedroom, then there's a little kitchen area and a separate bathroom. It's small but it's got different areas like an apartment. I feel like they can still up their game with their food selection for memory care. They've got activities like exercise classes, arts and crafts, and a happy hour."

"I have chosen Springfield Senior Living for my father. The rooms are good-sized and pretty spacious. My father is in memory care, so they have sections that you have to go through a door, and you need a code in order to go through that door. The Alzheimer's patients can't go beyond that door because they won't remember their code. I thought that was pretty cool. For the elevators, you need codes and stuff, too. It's a very, very clean place. The memory care had their own dining room. The staff members are very nice, very helpful, and very informative. I asked all kinds of questions, and they were very quick to answer the questions and didn't hesitate. It is a private place. I didn't see any activities, but my father said they do activities. They have a paper of what they do daily. As for the value for the money, I'm definitely getting the worth of it. They get three meals a day, the activities, and the care that he needs. It's helpful for me."
