"Maidencreek Place was a very nice place. The person I dealt with was very nice, she had a lot of knowledge of the place, she answered all my questions, and she gave availability. She asked me a lot of questions in order to make sure she understood what we needed for my father. The rooms were very nice, they were very clean, but they were not large. They had games and a social leader in charge of activities."

"Faithful Living-A Personal Care Community seemed very clean. It seemed like everyone that we passed in the hall was happy. The staff and the residents were nice. My mother-in-law liked everything they had to offer. The rooms are much larger than I thought they would be. They offer housekeeping and laundry for assisted living, so I thought that was nice. They have someone who comes in for a hair salon and give appointments. They have a beautiful courtyard outside, a library, activities, and all kinds of things for them to do and keep them busy."

"I had the opportunity to spend the first Passover Seder Dinner here with my mom. Everyone went out of their way to make this a beautiful experience for us. Everything was perfect from table decor to service and food. Thank you "

"I placed my mother in Laurel Pointe Senior Living for a couple of days. They had an opening, and it's very close. It's like a mile away from my house. They're not a corporate-type of place. They are very nice. They came and moved all her stuff personally. They've been very good. It's nice, clean, and quiet. The residents are well taken care of. All of them are nice. It's a very comfortable place to be. The food is not the greatest, but it's a senior living, so you have to get used to it. Everybody there is very knowledgeable, but they could be a little faster in their response times and stuff like that. Everything is very good and very up to date. The electricity is up to date. Call bell systems are up to date. All of that is fairly good, except for their internet system. Their wireless could be upgraded, but other than that, everything else is pretty good. They had group activities. They had a talk session with Mom because she had a stroke, and they were just discussing different things. Also, she likes to crochet, and they were trying to help her bring back and start crocheting again, stuff like that. Compared to the other places I've had mom, they're very good so far, and price-wise, it is very good. They're very affordable for what they do."

"I took a tour of the Ephrata facility. It is beautiful. Linda was very thorough and informative. The staff was wonderful. Very clean. The dining room is lovely. I especially liked all the activities offered. My family is very pleased."

"I toured Viva Senior Living at Harrisburg. I liked the layout of the rooms. I looked at a room for two people and I liked the way they were positioned. Even though it was two people, you still had some privacy with the way the bathroom was positioned in between. The staff member was very personable and we had a very nice talk. There was another girl in the room with us. She was on the medical side of it, and she was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I felt good after I toured the facility. It felt welcoming. The dining area was very nice. It was laid out very nice that people could talk to each other, or if they didn't want to they could sit by themselves. Everybody was helpful with the people who might have needed help."

"The rooms are a great size. The staff is always friendly and helpful and go out of their way to assist my brother. My brother is a deaf person, and the staff has taken extreme measures to be sure there are communication tools. Some staff are self-teaching sign language to themselves. The housekeeping staff does an excellent job of keeping his room, hallways, and common areas clean and smelling nicely. My brother enjoys living here. It is a 110% upgrade from the last facility. He loves the food and that he can have as much as he wants. LOL I want to thank the staff for their expert service, care and accommodating nature."

"My mother (age 85) relocated from an Independent Living facility in Alabama to Keystone Villa in Blandon 3 months ago. The transition went smoothly thanks to the Staff at this location. She is fairly active and participates in many of the activities and excursions offered daily. She has made quite a few friends here in a short time. This facility is well staffed and they treat the residence with respect and kindness. In addition they offer other services such as physician visits, hairdresser and more. I see my mother a couple times a week and can truly say I’ve witnessed the interaction and energy from “ALL” staff members. My mother is happy and feels safe. The facility is clean and modern. The food is fantastic! Kudos to the Chef, the assistants and wait staff. It’s not easy pleasing everyone but they manage to do it. This was a great move for all of us thanks to the many wonderful people here and everyone behind the scenes we don’t see. I want everyone to know how much they are appreciated. Thank you "

"We toured Brookdale Harrisburg, a memory care unit for my grandfather. We were impressed with everything. The facility itself was nice. The staff was nice. The residents there seemed relatively happy. Nobody seemed miserable to be living there. It was a nice-looking place and it seemed very, very clean. When you enter the place you get kind of a warm and inviting feeling."

"Oak Hill Village was a clean facility. The room they showed me that's available right now was very nice. Some of the services were good. The people were very welcoming and the location was also nice. In general, I just had a really good feeling about the place. Liane was the one that gave me the tour along with an assistant, and she was very good at communicating the information and even provided a packet to me right away. They had an activity room at the front of the building and I was able to peek in there where they had music going on. I liked the fact that the building had a lot of glass so you could see the outdoor environment."

"My mother is currently living in Schoolyard Square. They have everything available for them there. I think they clean the room once a week, or once every two weeks. They prepare three meals a day for them. My mom has that button around her neck that she should fall, she clicks it, and someone comes running. It's all internal. They don't have to leave the building during snowstorms and stuff like that. The price was excellent. They pay a little extra for things like when they need to be taken to a doctor, or get a test. They pay a little extra for that per use. There's a laundromat right in the building that's free, along with these chemicals that they would need to do their laundry. I'm sure it's built into the price. They can have someone do their laundry for a small fee, and they have someone come in to do their hair if they like. It's really, really designed around them. There's not many fancy amenities, there's no pool. There is an exercise room that I think they're going to convert into a dining room. The staffing is great. They really are good people. They do have different things during the holidays, I guess different meals. They are allowed to socialize as freely as they want. They can come and go as they please. They're not locked in. During the COVID, it was a little different, but my mom could leave. I could go pick her up. I couldn't go in the building, but I could pick her up and take her out for lunch, or supper, or whatever I felt like doing. I think they can go down to Stoneridge in Myers town. I think they have a bus that would take them there and use the facilities down there, but I'm not sure if that's still available."

"The staff is all very friendly at Providence Place of Pine Grove. They are very quick in answering our questions. The place is clean, and the apartments are very well kept. The dining room is set up really nice. "

"Heritage Mills Personal Care and Memory Assistance Center is very homey and very close to my home, which is the reason why we chose that one for my mom. She's in a semi-private room with a nice view and she's getting therapy there. She's doing very well after she had a stroke. The layout of her room is open. It's not segmented, like a tiny closet. It has a small partition wall between where the beds would be. They have their own bathroom that's very big with a walk-in shower and rails for the toilet and sink, so she could get a shower right in her room. The staff is very caring. There are a lot of younger people and they work very well with her. They don't force her to do anything. They check on her at least a couple of times a shift. She said anytime she rings, they answer her bell. If she has to go to the toilet and she feels like she needs help, they're there to help her. They have at least two or three activities a day. Sometimes they watch a movie, do a trivia game, or go to their garden outside. The cost we're paying is worth it. I looked at a lot of different places that were over $3,000 a month and for a semi-private room that's only $2200 a month, which includes room and board, her television, all her meals, all her meds, and activities, I would recommend it to anybody that's looking for something like that. It's very clean. It doesn't smell. They also have a nice dining room. I had breakfast with her and the food's very good. She hasn't complained about anything. She said the food's always hot and the bacon's crisp."
