I toured Manor at Market Square. The people were so old. They weren't in their rooms, they were downstairs sitting in the area next to the dining room, and all of them were sleeping. And they just looked very thin and frail and much older than I expected. I also didn't care about their parking. I wouldn't want to live there for that reason. The inside was nice, but I didn't get to talk to anybody because they were all sleeping. The staff was very nice, and the dining room looked very clean. But I don't like city living. And if I come home late in the evening, you can't even find a parking space there. I would be afraid to live there. The rooms were a very nice size though.

I went to tour Manor at Market Square. It's very pricey. Everything is beautiful there. They have a chef. They have a dining area and an area where they watch movies and do activities. The staff I met was very nice. There's a community barber salon there. They literally have everything there. The apartments that they showed us were very nice. They showed us a one-bedroom and a shared apartment, which was really nice. They have an apartment that has a kitchenette, a bathroom off to the side, two bedrooms, and a little area where you sit by yourself and read or whatever. The kitchenette has a little stove and a sink area where you can wash your dishes. It's very nice. They have a coffee area where you can get any drinks. The outside area is very nice also.

We transitioned my mother-in-law to MMS in early November 2023 following a long hospital stay. After researching several facilities, MMS stood out as the most exceptional multi level care facility in the area. The staff has worked closely with us with great compassion & experience to find the best level of care for her. The facility is kept very clean, the ambiance can be both energetic and quiet throughout the day. We've witnessed the seniors interacting comfortably and thriving. My mother-in-law's apartment is in good order and cleaned regularly which is necessary given her condition of not being completely independent. She is transported to her medical appointments with great care. We have been able to experience firsthand the tenants care and interactions with the staff. Tirelessly working, the staff is always pleasant, observant, reactive and motivated to assure comfort and quality care. The communication with the staff has been vital, productive and meaningful over phone calls, emails and in person visits. With great respect, we thank the MMS sales, administrative and care teams in the memory care and personal care for their help in this journey. We highly recommend the Manor at Market Square.

Our tour was very nice at Manor at Market Square. Everything seemed fine, and there was nothing that I disliked. The staff who assisted us was very friendly. Their cleanliness was very nice; it was very clean. There were a lot of open spaces and a lot of nice windows, and the rooms were large. The dining area was very large, too. The tables were nicely spread out. It was very bright and sunny. The atmosphere was very nice. We were greeted very quickly, and everybody was very friendly.

Manor at Market Square was clean and the staff seemed like they cared. The room seemed clean and there was enough space for someone to stay there. The shared living quarters were nice. There was a studio and a one-bedroom I saw. I looked at the menus. They took me to the room where they would have the activities. Nothing was going on when I went, as it was lunchtime. The staff member mentioned group activities, but I didn't really see anything. They have daytrips to the stores. There's bingo and stuff that they do there. The staff during the tour was very nice and inviting.

Manor at Market Square was very nice. The woman was very helpful and explained everything very well. We toured a studio, a one-bedroom, and a two-bedroom apartment, and they were nice. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the location, Downtown Reading, but you wouldn't know it once you're inside. It seemed friendly and I liked the idea that they could get something to eat any time of the day. There was always a drinking fountain, sodas, and I think a pot of soup or something was on at all times in the cafeteria. I believe they had a hair salon, reading area, and activities area. Everything seemed well in order.

Manor at Market Square is at the center of Reading, and the environment was lovely. A lot of the residents were around, in leisure places. I did not have a meal there, but I took some soup home, and that was excellent. The rooms there that I looked at were a studio and a 1-bedroom, they certainly look adequate. They were handicapped-accessible with a little kitchenette and bathroom. It is a lot less space than where I'm in at the moment, but it certainly looks enough. The person who toured me, Christine, was excellent and had a lot of details right at her fingertips.

I toured Manor at Market Square. It's very nice. We're going to choose it for my brother because he's able to pay for it every month. It looks like a hotel with lots of couches and chairs. Everyone was very pleasant, very nice, very considerate, and cooperative. I also liked the rooms. They were very nice and clean. The whole cleanliness of the place was what attracted me. I only met one or two of the staff members. They were very friendly, very nice, and very helpful. Whenever I called, they got back to me in time. There's no smell in the air. There's no odor. It's very much like a hotel.

Manor at Market Square is taking care of my dad and we're just all satisfied. They've been pretty good. They answered all my questions and any needs I may have, as far as my dad, was taken care of. He got a studio and it's clean. He said that the food is good. They have plenty of activities (more than where he came from). He was able to bake cookies and do exercises. There are people all the time cleaning and nurses. For what it's costing, I'm well satisfied with the service.

Manor at Market Square was very nice and well kept up. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable. The dining area was very nice. The menu looked very good. They weren't doing any activities, but they told us about some of them. The rooms had a good setup, and they were spacious.

Manor at Market Square is very well-run, clean, and has nice facilities. The staff was very nice, responsible, and caring. The activities were presented although I didn't see anything going on at the time. But they look as good as anywhere else. They have a library, crafts room, but not much outside.

Very friendly staff and always available for questions. My mom loves playing bingo. A bus to transport her to doctor appointments and shopping at the nearby walmart and boscov. She enjoys the foods and the friendly dining staff. She has her own mailbox and enjoys her independent. The room is a nice size and the housekeeping ladies are friendly. Washing machines are located at the ends of each floor so it's easy to access from any room. Very safe and parking lot for visiting.

I was very impressed with everything at Manor at Market Square. The person who accommodated me was lovely and very accommodating. She offered to help in any way and called back to see if I had any questions. The apartment was very homey. It had a new carpet, a nicely painted wall, and a small kitchenette. Everything was very nice. They have several activities. They have billiards and various activities to take the people out into the community. They were serving lunch while I was there. I looked at the menu and they had a wide variety of food. It smelled delicious and looked very good.

My father was at Manor At Market Square for a very short time. He was only there for a couple of hours. I think the facility was lovely. There were huge windows, and all the furnishings were beautiful. Everything was extremely clean. The hallways, and the door looked right you’re in a very nice hotel. It really was very nice. I was extremely pleased with the rooms. Each person had a bedroom, a television, and you could put furniture in there. I could sit a double bed in there. They shared a bath, and then they had a kitchenette and enough room to put a kitchen table. For what they were asking in comparison to other places, I thought it was extremely reasonable. They had an area where there were fruits out, and beverages that clients can get during the day when it wasn’t meal time. They could come down when they wanted within a certain time for any of your meals, which was nice. I was pleased with it. They really bent over backwards to be accommodating especially in my situation.

I had a good tour at Manor, and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. The rooms were good and a nice size with two people to a room, and it’s big enough to feel comfortable.

Thanks so much for visiting Manor at Market Square and taking time to post a review. We are glad that you enjoyed your visit. Did you have an opportunity to see our studio, one bedroom and two bedroom apartments? I know you mentioned the shared accommodations which are very affordable, but Manor has lots of apartment styles. We hope to see you again soon!

My father is at the Manor at Market Square. There is a lot to do, but I think there is more to do for women because they have knitting club and card clubs, and it is a happy place. The services are good. The food is not gourmet, but it is better than what see in other places, and it is adequate. He gets a lot, and he gets as much as he needs. I have not meet one that I did not like yet because they are all very friendly. They treat the people to events. There is I nurse that takes care of anything that we need whether it be getting a pill or having a doctor look at him. They have services that will do my dad's toes. They have a barber. They have a beautician. One of the things that make us pick that place is the fact that they do not have to pay the shuttle to go to any doctor's appointment. It is a big plus because my dad has to go in the beginning for quite a few doctors' appointment in numerous times when we cannot be there to take him. They do it, and they do not charge anymore. Another good thing is that they do allow small pets. If he will go from independent to assisted living or hospice, he can have his pet with him. In other places, once you leave one area, you have to move on and go into another part of the building. At the Manor, they do not do that. You do not have to move. They will come to you. I think that all these things are important, and I think it is amazing that they have these good services. Some people may be afraid because Reading does have a high crime rate, but I feel it is very safe. I am not afraid at all for my dad to be there. They have a buddy system too. My dad meets a couple of people that eat together. They call each other up if they are not there at a meal, wondering where they are. It is a friendly place, and I think even though my dad does not want to be there, I see him laughing, and just being happy there. For the costs and for the services, I will rate it a five.

Manor at Market Square was very nice, and they were very helpful. We didn’t like the location; my mother didn’t like being down in the city. There was no place for her to walk because it was on a busy street. The rooms were nice. The dining room setup was nice, but I didn’t care for the lobby though. They had Bingo, arts and crafts, and a library.

Thank you for visiting Manor at Market Square! Although we recognize being in “the city” discourages some people from choosing Manor at Market Square, our community offers so much ~ residents enjoy the “garden” in the rear of the building, take advantage of the downtown restaurants and cultural amenities (the Santander Center is only a block away!) with staff and are comforted by the close vicinity of police and fire stations. We are truly an oasis for seniors in the heart of Reading. I wish you luck in your search and encourage you to reach out to Manor at Market Square if we can assist you in the future.

Manor is the one that Mom could afford. The staff was very nice. The rooms were clean and nice. The size of the room was good for what she would need. Everything is set up the way she would need it there, so that would work out well. I like the fact that she can go from independent to dependent in the same room. We had lunch there, and the food was good. They have different activities every week: someone coming in and playing the piano and singing. They have activities every day for them to do right there in the building. They also have trips they take to go shopping. It looks like something that would work for her. I like the fact that it's close. If they wanted to take her shopping or do something, there are a lot of things right there in the area. The Santana Center is right near there for the shows they can go to see.

My mother-in-law had her own studio apartment at Manor at Market Square. It had a little kitchenette without stove, a sink, refrigerator, nice-sized bathroom, walk-in shower with a bench. It extended up to a two bedroom apartment in the building. There was plenty of room for her and she was very comfortable. There was a list of services you could buy, so the more services, the more expensive it was. The staff were angels. They helped her get dressed in the morning, bathe, managed her medications, took her to all her medical appointments, served three meals a day. The food was excellent. It was very important to transport her in the van and got in/out of the doctor's office safely, and they did it well. The care was wonderful. She was a complainer but she never complained about this place.

I contacted Caring.com and there was a gentleman who gave me some names of the facilities in the area. My husband is in one right now. He is in Manor at Market Square. The place is appropriated for the age of my husband. It is also spacious. They do have working staff but I'm not quite sure about the ratio with the residents there. They also have activities like board games. They offer transportation to go to grocery stores, drug stores, doctor's appointments, landmarks, etc. It is a very good facility and I have been very pleased and happy with it. The only issue we have is the location. It is not in the best area. I'm uncomfortable walking around there during the day and I would not recommend it at nighttime.

There's a number of things that were in our consideration why we chose the facility. Location to us and proximity was important. We're building a home and that was only 15 miles away, so proximity was probably a primary. Also just as important of course was her comfortableness with the place. The way in which the people treated her prior to arrival. The staff were forthcoming and professional. They were providing any kind of detail we needed. Since they were used to receiving people from the local area, they would send a team of people to ones homes and pickup their belongings. You actually pay for the cost of moving them right into the building. And since we were out of town, they offered to reimburse us up to $1100 for the moving expenses. All we need is to present the receipt. They were such a blessing! It was something we were not expecting. Absolutely mom will be happy there. It's a friendly place. It had apartments that were larger than others once that you've seen other places. It's a 4-story building and the distance that she'll have to walk to get to an elevator to get to a cafeteria or the dining area actually was a consideration. It was nice brief, easy get to and very pleasant looking. There is an atrium that was quite large and a waterfalls to help people with the mood. It was rather a large place so you're not confined to a small group of people and it was a nice thing for mom to make friends especially people within her age bracket. There were a great number of activities taking place. She likes to play cards and different card games and so there was a scheduled tournament of such for it. She was able to look at different rooms were residents were actually in them, so they weren't empty. There was furniture in it and it was comfortable living there. They also have an actual beauty facility. Well you pay for it but that's fine because she was used to paying for her hair. It was also important that she had an individual assigned to her as an extra service to help her in getting to the dining area, come down the stairs or other issues. What I also like was that everybody is provided with like a lifeline device that they wear around their neck. So all of these things really proved to her (and us) that the place was experienced, kind and responsive and that just went up to her over the top.
