"My mom has moved into The Seasons of Saxonburg. It is very nice. It is clean and very professional. They have a beauty salon, they have activities, and there's a courtyard. You can take your loved ones out to the courtyard and share a meal with them. There's also another side patio with a couple of tables and chairs. I've had some interaction with the staff, but not really with a lot of them, just with the coordinator, and she did well. It's very good for the money. They have a flat fee. Even if her care goes up, it's all one fee. They get three meals a day. My mom is in a private room. It's large for a private room."

"My visit went very well. The facility was newer and seemed to be cleaner. They had more people there, so they had more staff. In terms of activities, they were having a party of some sort whenever I was there. They had different size rooms. I saw the menu and it looked very good. "

"Juniper Village was very nice and where we want to go. It seemed like a family. The staff was friendly and seemed to know everybody, so you can tell that there isn't much turnover. The rooms were fairly good-sized. Everything was clean and neat. They took into account that that they're helping people get washed up and showered, so the size of the bathroom was larger. The size of the kitchen was smaller than the other places I saw, but that's OK because my parents don't need a kitchen. There was a nice outdoor area. They don't have a gym, but the majority of the people there don't need it. They had bingo, exercise time where the staff work with the clients, movie nights, trips out to places, card games, and a lot of baking. "

"My mother-in-law is in Apple Blossom. It's homey. She has her own little apartment. The staff is very nice. It's just an all-around good fit for her. She really likes it there. She likes the entertainment that they have. They have people come in and sing and things like that. It's an extremely nice facility. The staff is very compassionate. It seems like they really care about the residents. She loves the food; she says it's extremely good. We were very impressed with this place, and it seemed like they were extremely compassionate, which is what we were looking for. So far, she really likes it. She loves the food, she likes the people, and she overall likes everything, it seems. That was our goal -- to make sure that she was well taken care of and that she was happy -- and that's where we are at."

"At the top of my list that I found nice was the Abode Care of Monroeville. I've toured their assisted living and, other than the fact that it's one of the more expensive ones, it's quite nice. I think I got a lot of important information from the young lady that I interviewed. I was impressed with the young lady that interviewed me as well as my interviewing them. She had all of her facts and figures right at her fingertips. Her personality was very welcoming. I found the facility to be extremely clean, and well-ordered. The few residents that I did see were out and about. They seemed to be well taken care of, orderly, and pleasant. It isn't a large facility, which I find very appealing. The lady that interviewed me had pointed out the various room arrangements and designs that could be available. What I thought was very, very good and a little amusing was the kitchen. She said, "We don't have a cook. We have a chef" and I thought that was delightful. I'm hoping that my interview will help them a lot because if I can still afford to put either myself or my husband there, I'm hoping it will be available. You have a choice of sharing a room and sharing the bath, or you can have a private room and share the bath, or you can have a private room and a private bath. There are three options. They have an activity area that seems to be actively used. I can't say that I remember a library but there probably is a small one. They have outdoor facilities when the weather permits."

"My mother-in-law moved into Harmony at Diamond Ridge. Nicole, the one who gave us the tour several times, had the biggest impact on my mother. She was very thorough, showing us the entire facility several times, answering all of the questions, providing and explaining the care my mother would be receiving, which met all of the criteria I needed for her. And so far, so good. They're wonderful, very helpful, get her down to her meals, bring her back, take her to activities, introduce her to other residents, and make her feel comfortable and at home. She loves the food. We can also eat with her if we'd like, and we have several times. The food is wonderful. They have a special every day, but there is also a completely different menu, so if it's something she doesn't like, she can order it from there. It's the cleanest facility I have been in. They have a ton of activities. They have art class, cards, and bingo. They have a coffee chat every morning, where residents can get together. They go down to the bistro and have coffee, get to know the other residents, have a snack or something, and talk, which she did, and she likes that really well. They have a lot of different activities. You get a schedule, and it's the whole day. If you want to be doing something every minute of the day, you can be. They go on outings and take them to restaurants and stores. I chose this facility because it seemed the best fit for her. The size of the facility, the staff, the director, and everyone that we have met. It just seemed like a perfect fit for her. All the facilities that I took her to, her exact words were that they felt like home to her."

"I liked everything about Brookdale Mt. Lebanon. We walked in, it's clean, it's attractive, and the people were pleasant. We went to two different apartments and they are extremely large and have big windows. It was just a nice facility. The staff who gave us the tour was excellent. The facilities were nice, they have a gym, if you need therapy it's on their floor. There's easy access to laundry, the library, the restaurant was nice as you walked down the halls. They weren't dark because every so often there was a balcony with two big doors that brought in a lot of light. We went up to the fifth floor, it was very, very nice."

"We chose Sycamore Estate for Mom because they had better staffing and their price was better than most places. The food Mom was eating looked fine, but I have not tried it myself. The one drawback I have is they don’t have wide hallways for the wheelchair. Other than that, I don't have any complaints at this point. They have arts and crafts and bingo. They were decorating shamrocks for St. Patrick's Day the other day. I like the fact that I would not have to move my mother again if her condition worsens. "

"My mom is in Whitetail Springs Assisted Living and Memory Care. It's a very nice facility. It is clean and well-staffed. They have activities that they actually do unlike other places that say they have activities, but don't do anything. The care is 100 percent better overall, compared to where she was. The food is standard. It has a nice variety and seems to be a decent diet. It's unlike some of the other places that serve them chicken nuggets. They have what they call a sensory spa, which is a room with different things all happening at once. They try to get their senses going. They have a lot of nice outdoor areas that are all enclosed and gated. They have a nice dining hall and a nice activitiy room."

"I ride by Paramount everyday. They have assisted living and dementia care. The facility was only three years old. It's new and very clean. Everything was newer in it. It was also very well run. I like the staff. They seemed to be very organized. They did have a nice courtyard. However, I just didn't like the atmosphere. Everything was white. They were like bland and they didn't have any character to it. For activities, at that time, they were just playing some kind of a game in a room. "

"I like how clean it was, how everything was open and available to all the people who live there, and the staff was great. I looked at both assisted living and independent living. The staff who gave me the tour was very knowledgeable. She gave me a tour of the whole place, and it seemed like she didn't hide anything. It's a great place. They got in-house physical therapy; it looked great. They have a gym, a salon, and an in-house doctor. It was close to where she's living now. It's near all the hospitals, too."
