"My father has been a client there for at least 6 years. I wasn't happy he was having to live in a facility other than at home but under circumstances it was best place for him. They have a lot of activities there along with singing and games. Since he has been there I feel he has gotten great care, he always is clean and smells great.the caregivers always look upbeat and always polite and helpful. Never had any bad feelings that things weren't good. Had concerns in past not enough caregivers but now seems to be more working. all the employees have been great. The food seems like almost home cooked. At the present this virus going on and I pray for all the employees and residents. May God be with you all. "

"I took a tour of this facility for possible placement for my brother when the time comes. This place is beautiful. Staff was very friendly and was able to answer any question that I had. I think all of the patients were in the dining room playing bingo and I was told this happens quite often. All of the patients I saw were very well groomed and the place was very clean, unlike some of the other places that I toured. Therapy room was really big and I was informed of how financials work. I left feeling very knowledgeable and comfortable. I will not hesitate to put my brother here at Hunters Pond. "

"Lytle Nursing Home was really bad. They were very understaffed. I went to visit my dad about 9 o’clock at night, and no one was at the front desk. The nurse in the hallway did not stop me. It was very dated, and it smelled really bad. It was very awful. The rooms were very old. "

Initially I was very adamant to place my mom but i took a good decision placing my mom in this place. Very clean and bright building, rehab and nursing staff are great, my mom loves their food. "We chose Sunrise Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for my sister-in-law because they have lively activities that keep the residents motivated. They have rehabilitation center to help those who need it. The staff are very good, professional, and seemed to care for their patients. They have good nurses. "

"I moved into The Ravello before. For the most part, you couldn't get in to speak to them or reach them on the phone too often. The garbage pickup was fairly poor and overloaded. The place was okay, they could have done better but it was liveable. The door was always locked whenever I went to the office, so I didn't have enough interaction with the staff. They have a food bank that came once every two weeks."

"Mission Oaks Manor is an aging facility in an older neighborhood southeast of downtown San Antonio (near the old Mission drive in theater). It has the standard multiple-wings-around a nursing station layout, with a couple of dining areas that double as lounge areas during the day. There is a covered outdoor space with some pool tables and rocking chairs, and this is also the smoking area for residents who smoke. The rooms are mostly doubles, with a bathroom shared between two rooms, and showers down the hall. Furnishings are sparse, and the smells tend to be nursing home smells. So why, you ask, do I give it 4 stars? For the caring staff and the fact that Mission Oaks takes some of the poorest and most struggling patients that other nursing homes do not accept. Bless them for that. My brother was in Mission Oaks with extra care from a Hospice organization. The Mission Oaks staff made him welcome and comfortable. After a few weeks, he even started joking around with the nurses, which is a real sign that he felt cared about. Many of the patients there have nowhere else to turn, and Mission Oaks not only takes them in but truly cares about each and every one of them as an individual. "

"Highland Nursing Center is an old place, but well-cared for. The food looks good. My dad is doing good there, but they a little bit better supervision on the night time during the evening shifts. "

"My mother will be moving into Highland Gardens Koval's Assisted Living. It's beautiful. It's very quiet. It's small and very private. Almost every resident gets one-on-one care. The staff during the tour was wonderful and very helpful. She's a listener. She listened to my whole story about my mom's history and asked for details, like, for instance, allergies, what she likes to do for enjoyment, and what interests her. It was a private home-style dining area, and all the food is homemade. They check with every resident to not include any allergies that they have. They have board games and interactive games. They have two television areas and they have a quiet room. I didn't taste the food, but the residents were enjoying it."

"I have to say Pecan Valley has come along way. Before the ownership change Pecan Valley was not a desired place to go. But, since the new ownership in 2019, it has really made a remarkable comeback. I live close to the facility and when my wife needed care, she was sent there. Once in 2017 and again in 2021. The staff are so different now, they are polite, caring and really take the time to care of the resident. The nurses are compassionate and willing to help when needed. I had many conversations about my wife with the Director of Nursing and she was polite and always had time for me. I would recommend the facility."

"My brother-in-law stayed at Buena Vida Nursing and Rehab - San Antonio for 45 days. The staff members were a two, but the nursing staff was a four. He didn't eat the food much there and that was not because of the taste; it was just him. The reception staff was just very poor. There were some miscommunications, but the business staff was good. His room was adequate. It was a two-bedroom, but he was missing some of his items and some of his clothes came up missing, which isn't uncommon in that environment. They had limited grounds."
