"I will be moving into Cleburne Court. The rooms are clean, but they're small. They're like a studio apartment, but the people are really nice. The meals and utilities are included. I like the staff. I met the nurses, and everybody there was very nice. They take you on trips. If you want to go, you can go out to eat with them. They take you to Walmart. They have different things they do, like the Christmas parades, and just different things depending on the year. I really like the place. I had lunch there, and we had fried fish. It was good. They also invited me to Thanksgiving dinner, which I attended and met some of the residents there. I talked to several of them and asked them how they liked it there, and they all loved it. Two of them even took me back to their rooms and showed me how they decorated them, and we chatted, and we had a good time."

"We have other acquaintances or friends who have used the facility in past. We've looked into it for quite a while and it's just the place for her because it's close enough for all of us, her five daughters, to keep an eye on her. Proximity was a good thing but the main reason we chose the place is its cleanliness. The general service that they offer to the people there is really good and she's been there for months now. They keep her busy by doing things with her everyday. They keep all of the people there involved or something. Whether it's spelling bees, dominoes, games, exercises, church service or whatever. The activities keep my mom occupied and her mind mentally active. We also help her with cleaning of the room and the little laundromat is just located across the hall. It's good that everything is accessible. The food is very good. I would definitely recommend this facility. We don't have any problems with any of the workers and we've just been really pleased with them so far. "

"My sister is in an assisted living facility called Country Club Retirement Community. Her room is like an efficiency apartment. The staff is very good. She's been there since October 2018, so I am very familiar with all the staff members. I usually visit her daily. They do puzzles, they have outside people come in and do biblical devotionals a couple of times a week, they do bingo once a week, and they have some other activities like painting and making stuff by hands. Not too long ago, they were making flowers with a variety of products. They use them as decorations in some of the individual rooms. The food is pretty good. Given what their primary mission is, they do very well. My sister is an exception to staying there because I had to hire all these people to take care of her. The staff has changed substantially over time that my sister has been there. They have had three directors, they have numerous folks that do medication, and they have a couple of different cooks. The current director is pretty awesome. They're very responsive to things that need to be repaired or replaced. My sister's room needed an air conditioner, and they took a unit from a vacant room and replaced it the same day. There's a guy on staff that does maintenance and he's super. He's great."

"We decided to check out the Donna Berry Community Home while in Waco looking for a suitable place for our uncle. The grounds looked like they were well tended. We could see around the back that there was a lot of really nice park-like space to enjoy. The staff who greeted us at the door were very pleasant. We could see the kindness of the staff and how they interacted with the residents, which was really sweet. The communal living room was nicely decorated, warm and spacious. All of the rooms were very homey, which our uncle would really enjoy. The dining rooms had comfortable seating and were also easy access. We saw some residents on walkers, while many were totally ambulatory. They adjust the level of care accordingly. The living spaces were very nice - spacious enough to be comfortable in - some with more room to have guests. The food looked really appetizing and snacks are offered regularly throughout the day. You can reserve spaces for family and friend events, from parties to barbeques. The staff will also see that food is catered as you like. The activities ranged from reading to cards and other games -- and special events in the common areas, like birthday parties. The residents are also taken out daily and weekly for walks, exercise and to participate in local events around the city. The private living quarters were well-kept and nicely decorated, to the taste of residents. They can bring in favorite furnishings and decorations as they like. Our uncle has some favorite pieces, so we are glad to know that he can bring them here if he chooses to. This is a really nice facility -- with kind and caring staff who treat the residents with dignity and respect in a kind and caring fashion. "

"We decided to stop in at the Thompson Home assisted living facility since we were in the Waco area, looking at other facility options for our uncle. the grounds looked well-tended as we drove up. The staff greeted us at the door and was very accommodating, even though we didn't have an appointment. They graciously offered to give us a tour without notice. The foyer was nicely decorated, as were all of the rooms that we visited. There are many activities here, from cards to movies and reading. They also take the residents out to local happenings in the vicinity. The food and dining options looked appetizing. It was clear that someone really took the time to design some nice menu offerings. They also offer snacks any time requested, in addition to suggesting them throughout the day. Each resident's dietary needs are tended to individually. There are private rooms for visiting and a nice library -- and they visit the local library on a weekly basis. There are also visits from the local churches and many citizens are active in the community - coming by for extended visits. They do individual care plans with recommendations for exercise, planned activities and health care. We could see that each person is treated with dignity and respect here and that our uncle could call this very caring facility home. "
