Assisted Living Communities in Benbrook, TX

"We toured several communities, and decided on Bethesda Gardens Memory Care for Mom. Devin answered every possible question we could think of and offered extra information. All inclusive is a plus. When she gave us a tour, we could see that the Common rooms were spacious, bright and very clean. As were the residents rooms. Of course Mom was confused but the staff do an excellent job of interacting and reassuring the residents. Our family so enjoys talking with them as well. We visit Mom every day. We know she is cared for and safe. She is more animated and stimulated being around others. She enjoys sitting outside and looking at the beautifully landscaped garden area. Food is good and plentiful. Activities are varied and fun. Her favorite is the baby animals they bring in. We are very grateful to the staff at Bethesda Gardens and for all they do. I so highly recommend this caring facility."

"I toured The Westmore's assisted living, and it was very nice. If I could afford it, I would go to that place, but they're way too expensive. The rooms were very nice, but were a little bit smaller."

"I toured The Grandview of Chisholm Trail. What I like best about it is that it's brand new. It's very nicely decorated and very clean. What I like about it is that it's huge. The staff seem very interactive with their clients. They knew all their names. The food was very good. They have many options for each meal. You had a choice of 2 or 3. It was a formal dining setting with crystal. The residents there are at a much higher level. The dining area has a wide open area with multiple small tables. It's very nice."

"My husband will be moving into Heritage Place Assisted Living in memory care. When you walk in, it's nice. Everybody was friendly. The lady I spoke with, Susan, was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. She has in turn contacted me a couple of times since to follow up. She's very good on the follow-up. She walked us through the back and introduced us to people and showed us where he would be. Like any facility, they're going to have to repaint the room because somebody just vacated it, but it wasn't run down. They had nice little areas like living room areas for people to sit around in and converse and visit. They had a very nice back porch. Also, it was close to the Spinks Airport and my husband was in Naval Air, so that's something he would enjoy watching the planes. I don't know about the food, but the chef came and met us and he brought us cookies, so those were very good. In memory care, there are not a lot of people, which is good. In the area where he would be, there's maybe a maximum of 35 people, so it was a more homey atmosphere. It had little living rooms and the dining area, there were tables set up. I like the fact that they can get flavored water and coffee and any of that kind of stuff throughout the day that they want. Some places don't offer that."

"I was in Covenant Place of Burleson. It's assisted living and you have your own apartment. It was a very nice community. Everybody that worked there was very nice and helpful. They were very good. The food and the dining area were good. They have activities like bingo, they have singers come in, and they have a beauty salon and a TV room."

"The lady who gave us the tour at Mustang Creek Estates-Burleson's assisted living was very nice and informative. They have more individual little houses that have a max of 13 or 15 residents in each one. Theirs were more like a little bedroom, each with its own separate bath, but because it was more of a home instead of a little apartment, it did not have much space. The closets were very tiny, and the bedrooms were very small. That's the reason my friend didn't go with that one. She did like the homey feel, and it being smaller with a living area and a kitchen for everyone to share. They also have a cook who does all the meals. However, because they have a community living room, kitchen, and dining room, the bedrooms were very small. She has a lot of clothes, so she was not going to be able to make that small closet work. Men won't probably have as many problems with the small closet and the small space, but there was hardly any room to have even a chair in the bedroom. If you want to be alone or whatever, you'd just sit on the edge of your bed or a small chair. They also accept pets, but do not have an enclosed place for her dog. The place is out in the country, but if the dog did get away, it could still make it to the street. Other than that, I think the lady there said they have a couple of lady hairdressers who come and do your hair there. They also do your laundry for you, or you can do it yourself. It's up to you, but there is no extra charge for doing it. You just set your laundry basket outside your bedroom door, and they come and get it. It's only yours; they don't do everybody's laundry all at once, where you're going to get mixed up with someone else. They do it one person at a time, they wash it, and then bring it back to them, so that was nice. There was no additional charge for medication management as well. Everything is included in the price."

"I visited Bristol Park Eagle Mountain's assisted living, and it was very nice. I liked that one a lot. I would have preferred to go there, but their rooms are way too small. I liked the place because it was off the main roads and it was a little smaller. However, the people there didn't seem as friendly."

"We like Brookdale Richland Hills a lot. What I liked best was how well-kept it was. The interior was updated, so it was nice as far as that goes. The lady staff who helped us was very nice. She was great. She was informative. But when we tried to get back in touch with her afterward, we never could get in touch with her. With regards to cleanliness and structure, it's very good and very well constructed. The atmosphere of it seemed active and friendly. It seemed good."

"Ashwood Court was nice and clean, and the representative that spoke with us was very informative. Overall, it was a great experience. We only saw one room and it was very nice, very large, and accommodating for someone that is in a powered chair, so we were pleased with that. The outdoor spaces were very nice. They had a courtyard with seating and a waterfall type thing. It looked very pleasant."

"My husband has been in Legend of Fort Worth for a week now. So far, I like everything about it. It's homey. It's more like a hotel. Everybody there smiles and appears to be in a good mood. The staff members are lovely. They're very friendly and very attentive. The food is wonderful. The facility is very clean and kept very well. Some of their activities are wonderful, but my husband right now is not into activities because he has been there a week, and he is being stubborn. I chose this place because there are 40% men and 38% retired military, and my husband is a retired military. Most places are full of women. So it's great to have some place that suits him."

"My father is at Brookdale Watauga. It's an assisted living that is a Type B where they kind of help them get a little more. So they help him with showering, getting dressed, the occupational health part of it. They give him his medications. It just depends on what your needs are, what they will do, and what is charged. They've been nice, really helpful. They let me know things that are going on with him, which I appreciate. And if they have any questions, they don't hesitate to ask. So I'm really happy. It's clean. If he does not want to eat in the dining room, they will bring him something to eat. They worry about him when he doesn't eat. It's a super nice facility. It's a smaller facility. They keep it clean, keep it updated. They have exercises every day at 10:00, and I did notice that they have a little beauty salon there on-premises. If the ladies want to get their hair done, or if he wants to get a haircut, he can. I would recommend it. The dining area is very nice, they have their own specific places that they sit, and some of the food looks pretty good. He didn't want to exercise, but they did bingo, they had a common room where they could watch TV, he was just not interested in all that. They have crafts. Val the coordinator, she's the first one you talked to, she's the one that talks to the families when they're thinking about putting their family member into assisted living. She was just so nice and full of information. The nurses were all so nice and they just told you everything upfront, which I appreciate. So I was impressed very much with Val and the nurses like Andrea and Lindsey, they were just very helpful. A big shout out to them, because they're very nice and very welcoming."

"My Mom has lived here for 5 years. She enjoys being able to be independent in her apartment and being able to have her belongings with her. She also was able to bring her dog with her which meant the world to her. Some places do not allow pets and that wouldn’t have worked for my Mom. Their staff has always been friendly and very accommodating. The facility itself is beautiful and it’s always clean and warm feeling. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for a great place for their loved one."
