Assisted Living Communities in Buda, TX

"I had an in-person tour of SoCo Village. Their facility is approximately three years old, going into its third year, so the facility is very new and fresh. I was able to see the dining area where they come for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have a variety of menus for each meal time. They have an area for gatherings in case your family members want to celebrate or do something. The courtyard is very lovely. They offer some gardening that can be done nearby. They have a salon and a physical therapy area. They have several different options for your living quarters in the assisted living area. I'm particularly interested in the one bedroom. It was a model that I saw, which was very nicely done. I like the services that they offer, like how there's no additional cost for medicine management. They offer various discounts, which I found to be very helpful. The staff member was very knowledgeable and friendly. She was able to answer all of my questions."

"My mother will be moving into Brookdale Gaines Ranch. I chose it because of the look and feel of the place. The residents looked happy and seemed to be enjoying the place and they were out and about and active. The staff was friendly and caring, and we had good communication, so far. It's a very nice facility with a lot of amenities. They have a gym, salon, indoor pool, courtyard outside, walking trail, pet park, poker room, and deli. They had more than anybody else."

"Ledgestone Senior Living was nice, but it was too far away from my family and everything. I don't have anything bad to say about it. The people were very friendly. They have many, many activities. I like that they recycle, and that they have an onsite physical therapist and equipment. I am looking for independent living with access to assisted living as needed. The staff was very nice. At almost every end of the hallway, they had a little table for games and puzzles, and so forth scattered everywhere. They had many, many, many activities."

"My husband is in Sodalis at San Marcos and it is a very nice, clean place. The staff is very good and they have different activities every day like exercise, playing cards, dominoes, and prayer meetings. The dining area is very clean and good."

"My parents were residents of Brookdale Westlake Hills. They both shared a room there and were well taken care of. It was a very nice and clean facility with excellent food, nursing, and support services. The staff was very professional and friendly. The room size was adequate. It was a two-room room, and each had a television and a separating curtain if they needed it. It was a good facility. My parents were comfortable there. My dad complained about his bed, so they switched the bed out. I saw people playing bingo, doing yoga, and stretching and exercises. You get what you pay for, and you have to pay a lot to get top quality. So, it's expensive."

"Belmont Village West Lake Hills was a lovely location. I think it's really clean and the residents were well cared for. They had the available space that we were looking for and the facility was in great condition. I think they probably topped the list as far as amenities and activities and so forth. They had quite several activities for residents to participate in and were very interesting. It seemed like they worked with their residents to find things that they would be interested in."

"I know Brookdale San Marcos North. I'm a retired choreographer, and I have a dance group that I take to all the senior homes in this area in San Marcos, and I've always admired Brookdale San Marcos North as one of the nicer ones that I thought would be a good fit for Mom if it ever came to that, and it's very close to my house. The place has always been beautiful and kind of elegant. They've remodeled it, and now it's airy and clean. They have a restaurant on the second floor where residents order off the menu. The first floor is mostly for activities. They have their own hair salon and a nice activity director whom I've worked with for a while now, and I just think the world of her. The people who work there are fantastic. They have been just more than helpful. They've bent over backwards to meet my needs and Mom's needs (she will be moving there next week), and we're happy with the way that it's all worked out. She had a little fall and ended up in rehab. So, they've arranged that (I didn't even know you could do this), so she could go straight there from the rehab. I felt like I was on a cruise ship when I was there. The people were happy, well-dressed, talkative, and had high expectations for their time there. That's really satisfying. I think they'll be a good fit for Mom. They seemed like the kind of people that she would get along with. I have only tried their snacks, but I've looked at the menus and that looks great. Also, I've heard from others who live there that the food is wonderful."

"I am very pleased with the care and respect my mother received at the facility. The staff call me to keep me informed of changes. My mother loves the Lord and staff will have Bible study daily with her to keep her spirits lifted. Staff are always smiling and loving. I really trust my mom is in the best place. When she moved in they assessed per prescriptions and found many of these could be eliminated. Previous facility over medicated. They pay attention if she does not want to eat to offer a substitute or assess if she feels ill. I am so pleased. My brother and I joined mom for lunch one Saturday to celebrate her birthday and the food was great. The food was served on china. I have observed this as well on days I visit and walk with her to the dining area, s as Jesus good food in nice table setting. This makes for a happy place to eat. "

"I toured Alexis Pointe of Wimberley Senior Living. I liked that it's in a small town, and it felt very warm. The staff seemed to know all of the folks. They were very open talking to me, and I like the three levels of care in one facility. I only saw one room. They were fairly full. They had one that had just come available, but it had not been cleaned out yet so, I didn't get a real sense of it. It was adequate. Knowledgeable and kind staff. I talked to the intake person. And then I talked to the person that had responsibility for memory care. And they were all very professional. I saw some activities in the memory care wing, and they had an activity director talking to a couple of women."

"A wonderful community where residents and associates are engaged with each other. The care I observed was compassionate and the community has been clean on every visit. It’s a new community so things felt very updated compared to older communities.I would highly recommend. "

"I toured Brookdale San Marcos South. They offered anything I needed. The woman I met was very helpful. I was able to taste the food. I was able to visit the rooms, and it was nice and pretty well."

"GOLDEN AGE HOME ASSISTED LIVING gave my mom exceptional care. She enjoyed the other residents, the activities and the helpful staff. She was given more food than she could eat and absolutely loved the soups! My mom was very happy living here!!"

"Brookdale Northwest Hills was very clean and very nice. Everyone was just excellent. Their apartment was also very nice. The only thing that I didn't like about it was that the floors are vinyl, and I understand why they're that way, but carpeted rooms are just more homey, warmer, and better for the elderly. They have a nice dining area and a nice community area by a fireplace with a TV. Everyone looked clean and happy. It was well-staffed. I was very pleased."

"I was a resident of Brookdale Lakeway twice, and the most recent stay was after my surgery. They treated me fantastically. It was assisted living, so they took care of my prescription. I didn't even have to provide it; they got it from my doctor and ordered all the new prescriptions. And they gave me the medication when I needed them, I didn't have to ask them or anything. They prepared three meals a day, cleaned your room, and do your laundry. They took care of everything and it was fantastic, plus the people were great. My insurance paid for all of it. The room I had there was more like you're in a hospital. I didn't have to share my room with anybody, but I had to share the bathroom. I had a single room with a bed and share the bathroom with the person next to you. They had a little gym that was on the same floor, and I could just walk to the dining room or they would bring the food to my room. They had a library on the first floor, and they would periodically announce on the intercom that they're having things like bingo on which room on which floor and that you're welcome to go. They have stuff like that and activities. But I was in the assisted living place where they would help you, they would even help me bathe. They also have a living area where you can have your own apartment. It's a beautiful place. I would rate them a 5 because they're fantastic. They have a nurse on-call all the time, so if you have a problem you can call the nurse. After I got out of surgery, she had several new patients and we were talking. Then the nurse asked me if I'm OK because I don't look good, did the vitals on me and said I need to go to the hospital. She called an ambulance and took me to a hospital, where they found out I had blood clots in my lungs. They take care of you, and I can't complain about them. When I got back, I heard the staff speaking Spanish all day long. They were nice, so we got along beautifully. I didn't have a problem with it. They treated me really well. The food was good, but I was used to better or tastier stuff. I wouldn't mind moving into one of their apartments that you can rent. "
