"No place is perfect, but Beckett Meadows was about as close as you can get. It's not the newest or fanciest place, certainly not a palace, but the staff there more than make up for that. The caretakers truly loved our dad and often called him by his nickname, Double E. He was in their memory care wing for almost 3 years. Though his memory was shot, they made his life there comfortable, and treated him with the utmost respect. They catered to his sense of humor--something he did not lose. Not long after he arrived, he met and became smitten with another resident. She and my dad often sat side by side, holding hands. They became known as a couple. The caretakers often played old favorites and encouraged them to dance. It touched my heart to see my dad so happy in spite of losing so much of his cognition. The caretakers, some of the administrators and even the chef knew all the residents' names. They often used a playful deep Papa Bear voice with my dad who would speak to them in the same voice. (My dad called it his new voice.) I assume this was sort of a private joke that stuck. At any rate, my dad loved the attention. In his final day, as my family camped out in his room (watching him sleep as his body was shutting down), the director of memory care brought us a table, extra chairs, and a full lunch, catered right there to our room. They were as kind and loving to my family as they were to my dad. The medics helped us through difficult times and kept us informed on his condition and what to expect. It's really true that "people make the place." I'll never forget their kindness."

The Legacy at Oak Hill is a beautiful community, situated in southwest Austin, about ten minutes from downtown. With a stunning courtyard, and walking trails, there is no shortage of green space, and excellent views! We are a pet-friendly community, and even have a dog park for our residents and their four-legged friends to enjoy! "I had an in-person tour of Sage Spring. I walked through the cafeteria. Everything was nice and clean. The room and closet were a little small. I wasn't quite sure that it would accommodate everything that my friend had. It was a single room. The staff was great, very informative, and professional."

"We are very impressed with Gruene Senior Living. My mother is very happy there. The rooms are good sized, and the staff to resident ratio is very good. The staff is very nice and my mother enjoys interacting with them. They have a lot of activities. Everything is on one level. They don't have to go up in an elevator or go to different floors. She likes the food, and she said there's a good variety. They have a game area, an exercise area, a hair salon, a TV area, a puzzle area, and a big dining room."

"My friend is in Eden Hill. She went to rehab first, but now she is in assisted living. I bring her there because it is close to her son. The staff is great. They have independent living in a big apartment house, cottages, assisted living, rehab, and a place for Alzheimer’s. It is a big community. The independent living is new and about six stories high. "Élan Westpointe was very nice, they were very hospitable, and the place looked brand-new. I was impressed with them, and the dining area was nice. They were very nice and clean, the people are very friendly, and the residents were nice. "

"We went to look at The Watermark at Southpark Meadows. The facilities looked nice. It's probably the best-looking facility of all the ones that I saw. The main factors were proximity and price. It's the closest one to where we are and where we work. It was within my mom's budget. Everybody seemed nice. Some of the nurses came over and examined my mother. The facility looks like a nice hotel. It is at least three stories, so I was kind of concerned about my mom getting in an elevator and getting off on the wrong floor. But the lady that works there told me that they had an apartment on the first floor, right next to the dining area, so it just worked out perfectly."
