"It is a small community with a caring, loving, and attentive staff. They are quick to respond to residents' needs and flexible with families. Mom is in a small studio, which is just the perfect layout for her, with plenty of room for all the furniture she needs, plenty of closet space, and a very spacious bathroom. They have arts and crafts, games, and other group activities. The meals are good and adequate. It's a little bit older facility, but other than that, it's great."

"We saw the memory care section. It's very nice and very clean. I was impressed with it. It seemed very comfortable. One thing I noticed is that there wasn't any smell. A lot of times, when you walk in those types of facilities, you get the whiff of urine or whatever. This place smelt really good and looked clean. The person who assisted me was very sweet, very nice, and seemed very knowledgeable about the care of people with memory issues. I didn't try the food but I checked the dining area and it looked clean and nice. I remember seeing a TV area and an outside area too."

"I am staying at Arbor House Marble Falls, and it's very pleasant. The cottages are nicely sized. The staff is amazing, and when I moved in, they had freshly painted the apartment after the previous owner had left. It had a brand-new refrigerator. It is top of the line -- this is the Cadillac of refrigerators. It has all new appliances, a new microwave, a new stove, and a new dishwasher. The washing machine and dryer had been used, but they're in good shape. The residents are very friendly. I've only been here three days, and I've met seven of my neighbors. We are sitting on top of the hill here, so there's always a breeze. My back porch faces north, and it's covered, so I can sit out in the evening and enjoy it. We were sitting out here the other night, and it was ninety-five degrees, but I wasn't even sweating because we had this nice breeze that was coming through. The place has beautiful surroundings, it has a beautiful view, and it is quiet. They don't have a lot of organized activities, and you're pretty much left on your own. If you have things that you want to do, you can, and if you don't want to do anything, you don't have to. The place is very pleasant and moderately priced. If you want, you can eat over in the dining room. The dining room is over in the assisted living section. Since I have a full kitchen and I'm a gourmet cook, I don't want to go there. I don't want to eat their food anyway, but it is a very pleasant place to live. There is a fitness center within three blocks, and we have all kinds of walking areas. There's a courtyard for when it's cold or there’s inclement weather; you can go and walk in the courtyard. As far as setting up organized activities goes, it's not a part of their program."

"Marble Falls is wonderful. I would definitely give them 100% rating. My husband and I were so impressed because it's small, quiet, and very clean. The staff was wonderful and I love them all. I think there were only 25 residents, which is really good because it's not overwhelming for my mom. Her room was nice size, too. The facility was close to her church. The food was wonderful. I was so happy and thought she's going to do well. But then she passed two days before her birthday. Even though my mom was there for a short period, I was extremely pleased. "

"My aunt is in Country Oaks at Hamilton Creek. She's been there for five years now. It's a good place. They've got caring staff. It's very clean. They're short-staffed right now, but they're all nice. It's close to home where her family is. The food is very good, but it could be healthier. They have bingo. They have a bus and they take them like at Christmas time to see the lights and just take them on outings. They have good meals, but I don't see vegetables and that kind of stuff on there. It's all greasy, and these are older people, and they need healthier food. I have to talk to them about their seating arrangements. My aunt was sitting at this table for five years, and this new lady came in, and she started sitting where my aunt was sitting, and my aunt would throw a fit. The staff was like, "It's first come, first serve." I think that's not right because older people are used to where they're sitting and with the same people."

"I liked Windchime at The Village. They were very informative. I worked with a woman named Amanda and also the director, and they were so helpful, showed me around, and gave me a comprehensive tour. The place was so clean. Everybody was smiling. It was a fun little interaction, watching some of the residents trying to play dominoes together. It made me smile because they were just so sweet with them. They did a lot of follow-up making sure I had all my questions answered and gave me all the information I needed to move forward. I wish we could have made that happen, but with the needs that my in-laws needed right now with Medicaid, I had to go a different route, but I will consider them in the future. I toured more of the assisted living right now, but I did get to tour the memory care facility because that was going to be the next progression that my in-laws needed. It was a very comforting experience, like seeing the transition and that it would still be in the same area, just a more secure situation. The room was kind of like a studio with a kitchenette and its own private bathroom and shower. They have one room that is adjoining, kind of like a hotel room, and they offered that if we needed more space, they could be a couple and be in an adjoining room, which was a nice option to have. It was old and maybe needed more windows."

"My dad was in Riva Ridge Assisted Living & Memory Care Center and it was a great place. It's an excellent facility with excellent staff, and I would recommend for others to try it out. They had meals and it was really good. I would recommend that they try it out. Basically they would ask what the person can eat, and you can eat anything and everything. They have two buildings, one assisted living and one for memory care. For activities, they have a staff that takes them into the main building for parties and bingo."

"I visited The Legacy at Crystal Falls because it's right down the street from me. I like it. It was very clean. I like the assisted living rooms. The PT area looked good, and the common areas were nice. It's assisted living, but I don't know if my aunt is a candidate for that. The facility was nice, and the staff members were very nice, informative, and professional."

"My mom moved into The Isle at Cedar Ridge. They are good. They've been very helpful. Their staff has been great and accommodating. They've worked with us well, and my mom's having a good experience there. She said she's going down to the restaurant every day. The rooms are clean. They're well-appointed. The room before we moved in was painted, and the blinds were exchanged and replaced. So, they did a lot of good work. The room layout is fine. My mom is getting around there just fine, and we got her furniture moved in. It looks quite nice."

"My dad moved into Lampasas Assisted Living. It's a year old. It's wide open. My daddy can leave when he wants to. It's beautiful and it's less than $4,000 for him. It is clean, wide open, it didn't have those little dirty, narrow halls. It's just a new facility, and it's assisted living. It's not like a care home, it does not have medical staff on campus. They can bring in medical staff, and they have a lot of attendants. The staff is wonderful. They have activities, they have meetings, they have their own board of people who are in the residence, they can plan things and make recommendations. It's a community."
