"We liked Gateway Villas and Gateway Gardens certainly because of their location. They also offered everything that mom would need and I thought the size of the community would be right for her. It's a good match. She's confined to a wheelchair and they would be able to provide the transfers that she needed and so forth. That was important. They were just doing some renovations when we visited."

"Lake Travis Independent Living is very nice, and I will probably end up staying there. It was very good. They took me on a tour. I looked at two different units. One was a two-bedroom, one had a settee and a bedroom, and they were both very nice. The layout was very nice. They had an outdoor pool, you can have a covered parkway if you want, and they had entertainment. They had everything I would want to leave my home for so I could continue to be comfortable there. They also have movie rooms, a place to get my hair done, and a fitness center. They have game nights and a gourmet cook. The facility was very nice, very clean, and well laid out."

"I will be moving into The Enclave at Cedar Park. It had all the amenities that I really requested at a price that I could afford. What I particularly wanted was basically a full kitchen with a refrigerator and cooktop. Also, I needed a washer and dryer in the unit, and they have that there. Plus, I was very interested in just being in a more pleasant environment. The staff member was very, very professional, very kind, and answered all our questions. I didn't try their meals, but knowing who the chef is, I have no qualms about that. Just like every place else they have a library, an exercise room, and a really nice green area where you can go and sit in the garden. Overall, it's a very pleasant place to be. They have a very nice dining room. Just very pleasant."

"I know Longhorn Village pretty well because my father was there before, so I feel very comfortable in that place. Their current project will not be finished until 2024, so that's about the right time (that I move in). If you're in independent living and you need assisted living, you can move to the next level or if you need more help or you need nursing care or a memory unit, you can move there. They have a refrigerator, a stove, a microwave, and a washing machine and dryers in the apartment and that's included in the service charge. They also have wi-fi. Another good thing is that it's not on a busy street. The staff during the tour was knowledgeable and pleasant and there was no pressure at all. They don't push you too much. The food was great; it's better than restaurant food. They have a courtyard and a lot of places for walking. It's a pretty good campus. They have gathering activities, group trips, and group dining. They also have the bus to the UT campus if you want to continue your education and you also can book them to doctors' appointments and things like that."
